- Inspiring

Love the album. Especially "Escape Artist" that's my favorite. I'm about to purchase. Thank you pandora for your awesome searching powers!

- Great New Find!

Ok, she's not so new, but I just discovered her last night. Listening to Into the Trees right now and I've fallen in love!! I've always been a closet cello lover and now I can enjoy a whole orchestra full of them...all played by one awesome young woman. Thanks for the beauty you're bringing to the world, Zoe! As the rent is paid I'm buying your album...

- A breathtaking journey...

Zoe Keating's work keeps growing and maturing beautifully. She really knows how to touch the core of the soul with her layered/looped cello tracks. Haunting, evocative, and visceral in a good way. I find something new in each piece, every time I listen to them. Getting her albums are a must! Help support a talented servant of the Muses!!!

- Deep Into the Trees

I've been around for quite a while and have heard a ton of music in all genres. Its not often I stumble across an album that knocks me over but this one did just that. Evocative and compelling. Very sorry I missed her when she came through Seattle recently.

- Beautiful!

Zoe Keating's work is gorgeous and highly addicting. I've been anxiously awaiting this album for a long time. Buy it. You'll love it.

- Next level

This album is beautifully contemplative and inspirational. It instantly drives you to a state of heightened awareness and increases your endorphins.

- Music for the Soul!!

I can listen to Zoe Keating's music all day long. It is so relaxing and yet jovial. It is more than simply classical music. I would venture to say that Zoe really lets her personality shine through in the very notes and arrangement. I had the benefit of seeing her play in Tahoe California, and while nothing can rival seeing her play in person, her CD's do allow for one to still escape to places only imagined. I wholeheartedly recommend this music to those interested in classical music or more melancholy tones.

- advice

This album is glorious and a true piece of art. It conveys so many different emotions, so go in to it curious and open minded. Put some headphones on or turn up your speakers over any outside noise. Escape for a little while with it. I highly recommend NOT buying the mp3 version. Go to her website and order the CD for the same price, or in FLAC for $7. That's if you care about experiencing a great album in format that isn't crappy mp3s. I personally bought the one with the bonus tracks. It'll be the sound track of my life for a few more weeks.

- Shivers?!

I am actually not to big of a fan of classical but this music is abosolustely beautiful. It actually brings shivers down my spine, this woman is amazing and I will deffinitely be buying this album sometime soon!

- enchanted

I have been a fan of Zoe Keating for awhile now. She is an artist beyond the sound of her cello. The depth of this album resonated deeply as I sit in the quiet inspired, the mystery and the known, both present and future of artistic venture.

- Another great album by a truly unique artist

Into the Trees is yet another incredible release by Zoe Keating. This time around, the songs seem to branch out a bit into a broader range of tone and feeling, yet they are still definitely Zoe. We see growth, yet we also see consistency. It's familiar but different. If you're new to Zoe's music, I'd encourage you to catch some Internet video of her performing. It's amazing to watch her loop tracks over top of one another live, and it gives you a new level of appreciation for her music. But even beyond the technical aspect of her performance, her music is wonderful. It's soothing, yet it's not going to put you to sleep. If you like what you hear from the previews, you'll love this album -- and her others.

- ugh

The layering and looping she does is interesting, and results an ethereal sound that is occasionally transcendent in "emo" terms. I think would be good music for indie films, that's about it. It would be more impressive if she invented the technology, but she didn't. This music is what it is because of how it was produced, in which her layers are edited and manipulated until a satisfactory track is made --- not because of the actual performance or interpretation. Thus I can't really call it art music or classical music. It should be categorized under Electronic Music. Her sound doesn't sound like an actual cello either. She's not a proficient cellist, and in fact, plays more like an amateur.

- music for your eyes and soul

we hadn't heard of Zoe til Thursday night, her piece Escape Artist was used in a new dance piece @ Univ Az dance theater, and it was moving, I could't get it out of my mind, nor could my wife; so we bought it, now want more. what a moving artist she is. you'll get hooked too…. promise

- Magnificent music

Zoe Keating is, without a doubt, a wonderful musician. Her intricately layered melodies are rich and magnificent. The deep tones and subtle rhythms in her music invoke mystery and a contemplative mood. Buy this music - you won't be disappointed!

- Delightful and Moving

A complex blend, artfully created and purposefully played. Haunting at times, hopeful at others. Zoe's music has the feeling of forward momentum, of going somewhere. An excellent album to be certain.

- Gorgeous.

Zoe Keating has such a unique and interesting voice as a composer, and it's the kind of thing that's really special and beautiful when it's expressed through the cello. I feel like her music + cello is such a unique combination that it's a little thing of beauty you're not going to find anywhere else. I takes me wish I could play the cello.

- Into the Trees

An outstanding new work from unclassifiable composer/cellist Zoe Keating. The sound is somehow gentler and deeper than her previous works, clearly communicating the feeling of moving from an urban shared warehouse setting to a house deep in the forest. One of the great things about digital music is that I can't wear a recording out by playing it over and over again! In short: buy this.

- Awesome

Another solid album. I love this woman. Buy it, you will not regret it.

- Never gets old

I love listening while 🚴🏼 makes me faster and smoother 😂

- Hauntingly Beautiful

I have been listening to this non-stop since purchasing it. Beautifully played and just amazing all around. I highly recommend this album to everyone.

- This album is fantastic!

Zoë Keating has created another album full of lush and emotional cello instrumentals. Her music is ambient enough to play in the background as you work, as well as rich and intricate enough to spend 51 minutes doing nothing else but listening. Every track is beautifully composed, and the live version of "Optimist" testifies of Zoë's incredible talent. Buy this album. You won't regret it.

- Beautiful and unique

I listen to many genres, but rarely anything without voice. I adore this album, so much that my son rolls his eyes when the album begins. The song titles are brief, yet capture the essence of each piece, and so colorful that you can see the story play out in front of you. At times it feels haunting and dark and reminds me of parts of Saltimbanco. It reaches your core, which is what good music should do.

- One-Woman Orchestra

I discovered Zoe Keating through Amanda Palmer, and I became a fan almost immediately. Call Keating's music 'classical' or 'instrumental' or whatever you want, but listen any of her albums for 30 seconds and you'll start to appreciate how unique & gifted she is. This latest release is no exception. "Into the Trees" strikes a perfect balance of drama and light-heartedness; the individual tracks have a different tone and sound to them, but contain subtle hints of the others, creating a more a cohesive feel to the album. Each layer of loops is so evocative that you get swept away by the music and simply forget there are no vocals. "Escape Artist" is a standout track, while "The Path," "Lost," and "Seven League Boots" are some of my favorites.

- Excellent Performance

Beautiful Music ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

- REFRESHING !

I love her music....it's like raspberry iced tea on a hot summer day. Like feeling the electrical charge from the heat lightning dancing through the night air! She's brought the cello into the twenty-first century, all right! It only gets better Zoe, AWESOME.

- Absolutely beautiful

At my dance studio we dance to Zoë's music and the choreography seems alive with your lively music. Thank you Zoë!

- Amazing

She is even better in concert! Love it!

- Soundtrack to my life

Can't get enough. Zoe Keating is a genius at balancing simplicity and complexity, and her arrangements bring out the depth of sound that makes cello music so stirring. It's refreshing to find someone whose methods are not formulaic and obviously creates from a real love and understanding of her instrument.

- Hotly Anticipated

Ever since discovering Zoe Keating years ago with One Cell X 16: Natoma, I have been an adoring fan, willingly surrendering myself to the hauntingly beautiful melodies she wrings from a simple wooden cello. The skill, talent and pure grace and beauty she evokes in her compositions is nothing short of genius and I've been waiting for Into the Trees for longer than I wanted. She did not disappoint. Each and every track pulls a new sound or a surprising rhythm from such a unexpectedly provocative yet melancholy instrument. Escape Artist is my absolute favorite with Lost coming in a close second, but it's difficult to choose favorites at all with this enchanting album. I cannot wait for more from this incredible, poetic, unpredictable artist.

- Love it!

Zoë takes me to a whole different place. Awesome

- Wow

Just came across this and it blew my face off. Literally I have no face. Thank you for this magical music!

- Simply Amazing

I first heard the song Escape Artist. I just kept hitting the repeat button, it's practically broken now. I'm a cellist myself, and all my music has at least one string instrument in it. (preferably the cello) I bought the whole album, it's just that good! I tried to play it on my cello, but I think I'll just let Zoe perform it:)

- Gorgeous

I've been waiting for this to show up in iTunes just so I could write a review. I'm so impressed by this, even knowing what Zoë is capable of. She seems to effortlessly find simplicity from the complex, merging layers and loops to form timeless songs. The style is so well balanced between classical and modern that it's accessible to anyone, but offers a depth that lets you dive in and find new things each time. This is an amazing record, and an absolute must-have!

- Totally Addicted!

I can't stop listening to this. What a tremendously vivid musical journey! Very powerful and awe inspiring sound.

- Keating sounds like no one else, and better for it

I met Zoe Keating during the Switchboard Music festival in San Francisco this year and I have been waiting for her latest album since then. This album does not disappoint. Keating sounds like no one else playing music today. Beautiful, haunting, entrancing. She is also a beautiful person. I look foward to hearing more!

- Brilliant

I heard and interview of Zoe on Radiolab and fell for the sound, I bought this entire album and will buy the other. Zoe's sound isn't entirely classical, I don't know how to describe it really. It is searching, inspired and beauttul. It also haunts and sooths. Buy all of it, support her and enjoy yourself in the process

- Wonderful

This is truly wonderful music. Thank you, NPR, for featuring Zoe Keating recently. I could not wait to listen - the music completely speaks to me. I am amazed that these rich compositions are done by a single person.

- A stunning work of art!

Zoe has to be one of the most passionate musicians, composers and performers around. Her latest album, Into The Trees, is utterly beautiful! Buy this album and listen to it again and again and again...

- Great Album!

I heard part of the song on a chicago radio station the song Escape Artist it inspired me to buy the album i love it.

- Haunting

I heard about Zoe Keating on NPR on the way home from work one day, and the music playing in the background was absolutely wonderful. Her music is haunting in the best possible way. Once you hear it you don't forget it.

- <3

Purchased the album for a 3rd time, and it's easily the best listen yet!

- One of a kind

'Into the Trees' is an album that has a heartbeat that will resonate with you from beginning to end. Zoe has created yet another lush masterpiece. I had the pleasure of experiencing this brilliant artist's live performance in Atlanta a few years back when she was showcased at an educational technology conference and have been a loyal fan ever since. Her work was and continues to be simply captivating. I am inspired by her innovative use of technology and musical genius. She's definitely one of a kind. This humble-natured artist is truly a gift. If you ever get a chance to see her perfom live, do not hesitate, her shows are spectacular. Her music has a way of wrapping itself around you and drawing you into her fascinating world.

- Captivated My Heart

I am 23, and have fallen in love with Keating's amazing ability to captivate her audience through her music. It is warm, delightful, fulfilling, enchanting and so much more. I highly recommend everything she produces. I wish I had the ability to see her perform in person!

- Modern day musical genius!

Zoe is a true artist. Modern day musical genius. Zoe's use of technology in her compositions inspires the soul. I used her online footage as a lesson to inspire the students I teach. Thanks Zoe - Optimist LIVE is the best. Those G's are awesome. Great exploration of c minor. simple but perfect. release time was frustrating but you can't rush perfection?

- Entrancing

I don't remember how I happened across Zoe's music but I'm so glad it happened. She's on twitter too and a very interesting follow.

- Love it

Let's keep it simple. Love this album and everything before it.

- Another masterpiece

Ms. Keating produces yet another tour de force with haunting melodies and a magic that defies the notion that there's "only" a cello involved. bravo!

- Beautiful!

One of those records that are gorgeous and you can listen to anytime. Highly recommended! True artistry!
