This soundtrack is unbelievably wonderful with Whitney Houston singing 6 songs from this album, it still is phenomenal.
OK I admit that Whitney is pretty good at singing and nobody can hold it like the queen (AKA Whitney) but this was Dolly’s song and no one can sing a Dolly song like Dolly herself!
Forgive me readers.. I just watched the Youtube video of Whitney singing a medley of "I Love You Porgy/And I Am Telling You/I Have Nothing" (look it up) and it took me back to the depth of the LOSS the WORLD went through when this God-sent talent tragically left us... I already own all her stuff except this one withch I'm purchasing NOW (I do have the Movie though... We Miss you Whitney!

I grew up listening to this album, and one of my favorite films!
This soundtrack is pure perfection. No wonder it was the best selling soundtrack of all time. Whitney Houston made it possible with her amazing vocal chords. I have all the Whitney songs on here though. The others don't matter to me. I love I will always love you, it means to me, whatever man I'm with, whoever I love, whoever I date, whoever I marry, whoever I have kids with, and whoever I grow old with, "I will always love you, my darling you". I have nothing. This song's meaning to me is that this girl never new real love until she met this man and fell on love with him, and she can't live with out him, so he is her love drug, "I have nothing if I don't have you." I'm every woman is Chaka Khan's song, but to me Whitney does that song the best justice of all. Chaka Khan's version was not too pleasing to me. Run to you is excellent. Meaning I feel safe with this man and I love him and want to be around him all the time. Queen of the night is about a girl who wants to have so much fun at night, like go to night clubs and parties. This song gives the vibe, like Whitney's taking over, this is my stage now. Jesus loves me shows a Pop/Gospel mixture of Whitney. The movie was excellent too. She was a brilliant actress in her debut movie. It reminded me of how good Diana Ross wad when she debuted in acting as Billie Holiday in Lady Sings The Blues. Such great acting. Whitney you are the voice!!!!!!!
