Brilliant music!! My recommendations would be **I am the Doctor, Amy in the TARDIS, Mad Man with the Box. I have just fallen in love with these songs!
It's is awesome! I really love "I am The Doctor" If only i had more money. I'll just get it piece by piece. It'll be worth the money!
This is a must have for every doctor who fan. ( also I recommend the doctor who podcast) and if u think that $20 is too much, think again. It is 66 awesome doctor who songs that were used in the episodes.
I can't keep from putting on this cd. I love the melody of this cd. I'm form the States and all I can do is talk and hope my fellow country men find the treasure that I have. Also, on December 12, 2012 I ran outside and looked up tp the sky and yelled thank you Doctor for saving us. I also did it on the 25 of December of this year. LOL
I intentionally waited until 11-11-11 to buy this and it was worth it. This is the kind of music I couldn't get sick of if I tried.
"onwards" is amazing
Ever since I heard "I am the Doctor" in Doctor Who, it's been going through my head nonstop! I love, love, love, love it! :)
I can't believe it could have been this bad. I feel bad that they took the time to compose all of this, and, er, let's say it's not the best. Gotcha!! Did you really think I could have disliked this album?! Best one yet!๎๎๎๎ ๎๎๎
These songs are what really make the show what it is!
O my gosh this is so awesome it finally came out and the songs fir together perfectly u can't tell when they change doctor who for ever
finally i can have the music from the show, its so awsome!
A must have for any self respecting Whovian!
I LOVE this album, and personally, I think murray gold is a GENIUS! I mean, he writes new songs for almost every episode, and I have never heard a song I didn't like. This album definitely tops with the most songs I really love from murray gold. Thanks for finally putting it on Itunes!
I luv this album. My favorite songs are: the sad man with a box; i am the doctor; words win wars those are my favorite ones
I fell in love with the series, and now I am in love with the music! This album specifically. I don't know exactly what it is, but it makes me wanna go buy a violin and perform with this awesome orchestra! Shout out to Mr. Murray Gold and the BBC Wales Orchestra performance!! I watched them perform this on Amazon video, the "prom" and I love it!!!
This music is pure genius and has become a classic set of compositions that I will listen to forever. Thank you Murray for all the wonderfull music and how much creativity you really brought to the show :3 Love, Elgin P.S I love the Vincent and The Doctor Pieces (perfectly crazy but calm)
I am disappointed THAT DOCTOR WHO ALBUMS HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS GOOD!!!! ๎
Wow! This soundtrack really blew me away! My favorite was either I Am The Doctor or Onwards!
I absolutely LOVE I am the doctor. This some was played repeatedly played through the series. This song has such an amazingly complex composition. Well done.
I must say, Murray Gold has done it again. The songs a memorable, fitting in perfectly with each episode the song is featured in. My personal favorite songs are "The Life and Death of Amy Pond", "Words Win Wars", "Amy's Theme", "I Am The Doctor" and many others. In fact, all 65 songs. The digital booklet is very lovely as well. It's a fantastic album that even a non-Whovian will thoroughly appreciate and enjoy. The music never gets old, and you'll be whistling it in your head. Very wonderful, and a worthwhile purchase.
iTunes, the description is for the sixth album... just FYI. Otherwise, it's AMAZING, Murray Gold is a genius - Words Win Wars, I Am The Doctor, and A Useful Striker are a couple of my favorites. Although I must say I dislike the new theme song. Nine/Ten's was better. But it's alright. If you have several of the soundtracks you can really tell that the music changes with the Doctor. Eleven's music is very different from Ten's - I can't really describe it, but it's there.
I am so happy this has finally come out XD!!! Doctor Who is a BRILLIANT show and this soundtrack just completes the 11th Doctor :)
murray gold, every song i hear links me back to that exact moment in the episode, ones like doomsday, from 10 makes me want to cry. this is wonderful, thank you for composing such moving score.
Out of all the the tv shows Doctor Who is the one but out of Doctor Who season 5 is the best The Doctor
I never knew that there was an album and was sad that I didn't find this until know. I LOVE doctor who and this is the best thing I've bought. Americans do love Doctor Who!
When are you guys going to post the series 6 soundtrack? It's been out in the UK for a while.
Ok how could anyone not like this album or the show mlboth so epic matty smith is better than david and freckelston put together
I know I am late to the party, but this is a wonderful album and I am glad I purchased it.
Ha ha, gotcha! Absolutely tops (for me) is I Am The Doctor -- every variation i've heard is glorious, including the ones in the Christmas Special (i'll also get it when it comes out). Which is why i absolutely do NOT mind its recurrence (in bits and parts) in various songs throughout the soundtrack :) Especially because it so perfectly fits as Eleven's action theme (LOVE how it came on right after the Doctor messaged GERONIMO to River as he flew the Pandorica to the exploding TARDIS) -- thank you Murray Gold! Other faves: The Sad Man With a Box and The Life and Death of Amy Pond (this was Amy's Theme in the 2010 Doctor Who proms) -- both have such STUNNING crescendos; A Useful Striker (which was when Eleven played football), Onwards!, The Sun's Gone Wibbly are grand, and You and Me, Amy has such sad, gut-wrenching notes despite being a quieter song -- what a punch! To me, Murray's music makes Doctor Who even more special -- brilliant, brilliant stuff. Now if only S6 would start already...
Will always be there for you.... Especially while your studying!
I am the biggest fan of Doctor Who, and this is now one of my favorite albums, (apart from London Calling and Cow Fish Fowl or Pig) This album is great! I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys series 5 of Doctor Who. It's nice how all those great familiar tunes are available to purchase for a great price.
It's here!!! Now I have even MORE Doctor music to listen to while writing my books!! I would HIGHLY reccommend getting the entire album, because getting just the ones you want individually will cost more than $20. I'm listening to it even as I'm writing this review!! THAT"S HOW GOOD IT IS!!!
This album is epic! Best one EVER! Completely worth the wait. Murray has outdone himself, which I didn't know was possible!
Murray Gold has outdone himself again. This is one of my favorite soundtracks ever. It is beautifully composed and has so much emotion put into it. Some of my favorite songs are in this soundtrack!๐๐ผ
Who really is not enchanted with the compositions of Murray Gold on Doctor Who? I am fascinated by the music he creates, many themes, one after another, not sure how he manages to create so many new things. WOW, it's fantastic!
The new album is simple amazing. The music well portrays the new Doctor, played by Matt Smith. It is fun and lively like him. I also felt this new series also shifted the way Murray wrote as maybe trying to get away from the mystery and go for more fun and exciting music, almost similar to the series 3 album. The music also brings us a new companion, Amy Pond, played by Karen Gillan, whose music is innocent and calming with a touch of depression due to her childlike disposition and her having to wait for the Doctor for 14 years. One thing I did not like about the album was the amount of songs that ranged from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. In previous albums, that length had been kept to a minimum of 5 to 8 songs, whereas in the newer albums, starting with the specials album, saw the number of these kinds of songs beginning to increase. I am not saying that I do not like them, I just wish they were longer. Overall, the album is great and you should get it.
When I hear a song it leads me to that moment in that episode and makes me grin or cry. It makes me feel like I've lived these moments and like these are my own memories :)
OMG. I totally love this album, as well as the season that goes with it! Some of my favs are I Am The Doctor, River's Path, River Runs Through It, and of course, the Doctor Who theme. Murray Gold is awesome. I am a total Doctor Who freak, and know everything there is to know, and I am totally obsessed. Don't Blink! : )
I'm so excited that the iTunes store finally put up the new Doctor Who soundtrack for series 5 with the bonus tracks. I love the music for this show. I think Murray Gold is a musical genius when it comes to the music for Doctor Who. He has captured the personalities of the 11th Doctor and his new companion, Amy Pond, in the songs I Am the Doctor and Amy's Theme. I love the soft tones of Little Amy, The Mad Man With a Box, A Troubled Man and With Love, Vincent. I also love the upbeat tones of A Useful Striker, I Am the Doctor, Onwards!, and Amy In the TARDIS. Murray Gold is a musical genius because the music he comes up with adds a lot of emotion to many great Doctor Who moments ever since the new verison of Doctor Who started in 2005. I will never get tired of listening to the Doctor Who series 5 soundtrack and the other DW soundtracks that Murray Gold has worked on.
Love it! Music from the bestest show!
Murray Gold has done a wonderful job and I can't stop listening to the sample songs ๐ My personal faves are The Suns Gone Wibbly, I Am The Doctor, and A Mad Man With A Box. My personal all time fave is Little Amy: The Apple! :3
I've been waiting for this soundtrack since I watched the first episode and it does not disappoint! I love how the tracks seems to flow together so that you don't even notice when you switch. While there are so many good tracks to choose from, I think my favorite has to be "Can I Come With You?", a portion of Amy's theme, which perfectly captures the wonder and melancholy of her story. "Words Win Wars", "The Life and Death of Amy Pond", "The Sad Man With a Box" and the bonus "Impossible Choice" are also highlights.
Yes! Not the best Doctor Who soundtrack, but really great! Can you add the shorter version of the theme like you did on the other albums? That would be THE BEST and it would BLOW ALL OF THE OTHER SOUNDTRACKS OUT OF THE WATER!! Geronimo, here I go downloading MORE DOCTOR WHO! ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ

I love how in this album they started to use choirs but there is some singing love this album
This is probably one of my favorite soundtracks right now. I love the new themes Murray Gold has added for season 5 (which is by far my favorite season!), like the Doctor's theme and Amy's theme. Listening to the soundtrack reminds me of all of the moments I loved in the show (like "Words Win Wars", which is played during the Doctor's speech to all of his enemies - my favorite scene). Murray Gold keeps it fresh while still having the running themes throughout the soundtrack. My favorites are Zero, Amy's theme, The Vampires of Venice, Mad Man With a Box, The Life and Death of Amy Pond, and The Pandorica. Murray Gold's music sounds very similar to John Williams, with a heavy use of the horn section (I especially love the blasting brass in Zero), but he has his own original sound as well. Gold has succeeded in making an album you can laugh and cry to.
I honestly think, Murray Gold did an AMAZING job on this. I have watched all of season 1 2 3 4 5 and 6 and ALL the music was AMAZING!!! I am really happy that this is out now! Now, I can listen to them anytime I want. If i could say one thing it would be: OMG!
Oh wow.. Very good ...The way "I am the Doctor" is played in the background on many of the somgs is electric... Get it..$19.99 and no disappointment!
I have been waiting for this album to come out since I first watched the series. I am surprised that it took this long, but I can't complain anymore now that it's here. By far the best album composed by Murray. I can't wait for series 6!!
This is absolutely brilliant. I own over 70 soundtracks for movies and tv series, but this album by Murray Gold is by far one of the best, even all his Doctor Who albums are great. Even the melodious ones, albeit sad, are the most touching and sincere songs ever. Definite recomembed buy for any music lover, especially any Doctor Who fan. Now all USA itunes needs is the 2010 christmas album special and it will be complete.

The fifth series of the British science-fiction television programme Doctor Who was originally broadcast on BBC One in 2010. The series began on 3 April 2010 with "The Eleventh Hour", and ended with "The Big Bang" on 26 June 2010. The series is the first to be led by Steven Moffat, who took over as head writer and executive producer when Russell T Davies ended his involvement in the show after "The End of Time". The series has 13 episodes, six of which were written by Moffat. Piers Wenger and Beth Willis were co-executive producers, and Tracie Simpson and Peter Bennett were producers. Although it is the fifth series since the show's revival in 2005 (and the thirty-first since it began in 1963), the series' production code numbers were reset. It was the first series to feature Matt Smith as the eleventh incarnation of the Doctor, an alien Time Lord who travels through time and space in his TARDIS (a spacecraft whose exterior resembles a British police box). Karen Gillan is introduced as the Doctor's new companion, Amy Pond. Her fiancรฉ, Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill), appears in seven episodes, travels with the Doctor and Amy, and is a regular character in the next series. Alex Kingston returns as River Song, a mysterious woman from the Doctor's future who summons him twice in this series. The main story arc, covering several episodes, concerns a pattern of cracks in the universe which are sometimes unnoticed by the characters. It is discovered that the cracks can erase things from existence; this happens to Rory, and Amy forgets him. It is revealed in the series finale that the cracks were caused by the TARDIS exploding, and the Doctor is forced to reboot the universe to its state before the cracks appeared. In addition to the six episodes written by Moffat, Mark Gatiss, Toby Whithouse, Simon Nye, Richard Curtis, and Gareth Roberts wrote one episode each; Chris Chibnall wrote a two-episode story. The series was meant to be fantastical to stand out from other science-fiction and fantasy shows, and the production team strove for a fairy-tale quality because Moffat believed that media aimed at children were some of the most popular among adults. The episodes were directed by directors who were new to Doctor Who. Filming began in late July 2009, lasting about nine months. The series was filmed primarily in Wales, except for "The Vampires of Venice" and "Vincent and the Doctor" (which had scenes filmed in Trogir, Croatia). Design changes from the previous series included a new logo, title sequence, variant of the Doctor's sonic screwdriver, interior and exterior of the TARDIS, and a change in the theme music. The series premiere was watched by 10.085 million viewers (the most-watched premiere since "Rose" of the first series), and set records on BBC America in the United States and the BBC's online iPlayer. Although overnight ratings declined compared to other series, one writer calculated that viewership had not changed significantly when time-shifted ratings were taken into account. The series received positive reviews, with praise for Moffat's story arc and the performances of Smith, Gillan, and Darvill. However, reviewers noted Amy's lack of character development and the series' diminished emotional appeal. It received a number of awards and nominations; "Vincent and the Doctor" and the two-part finale were nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation (Short Form), with the award going to the finale. Smith was the first actor playing the Doctor to be nominated for a BAFTA award. The series was accompanied by a soundtrack and tie-in books and video games; four of the latter were released on the BBC website and advertised as additional episodes of the series.
