Femme Fatale is the seventh studio album by American singer Britney Spears. Musically, Spears wanted to make a "fresh-sounding" and "fierce dance album", thus incorporating dance-pop, electropop, EDM and synth-pop styles with elements of dubstep, techno and electro in its sound. Spears began working on the album during the second leg of her tour The Circus Starring Britney Spears (2009), while also contributing to her second greatest hits album The Singles Collection (2009). Upon its release, the album received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who complimented its production and dance-pop style. The album debuted atop the charts in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Russia, South Korea and the United States, and peaked inside the top ten in 24 countries. In the United States, it was her sixth number-one album on the Billboard 200, extending her record as the artist with most consecutive number-one albums in the US. Femme Fatale is certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). As of February 2014, it had sold 2.4 million copies worldwide.

This style of music is supposed to be electronic. She also is not a singer, she is an entertainer. These songs make sense when I listen to the lyrics. It is not all literal. This is one of those artists that you find yourself humming their songs when you're not even a fan. I surprised myself when I heard this I never thought there would be a day that I would like Britney spears,how wrong I was. After this album I became a fan. this is seriously one of the best pop albums I ever bought. So my advice for you right now is to preview this cd and Buy It! It's sooooo worth it. Oh and I wouldn't buy the deluxe version because not all the songs are that good as the original album except he about to lose me. I don't listen to Britney Spears, or most pop music for that matter, for meaning or anything ground-breaking. I turn to my Pink Floyd discography for that. I knew this was going to be typical empty-calorie Brit and I love it for that. It's perfect pumping music for dancing or a cardio workout. Sure there's a few tracks I tend to skip, but for the most part I'd say this another successful earworm collection of Britney tunes. My main con is the overuse of autotune. She probably needs it, but they should try not to make it so obvious. Give her a little vocal boost, don't make her sound like robot. A femme fatale ( FEM fə-TA(H)L, French: [fam fatal]; lit. 'fatal woman'), sometimes called a maneater, Mata Hari, or vamp, is a stock character of a mysterious, beautiful, and seductive woman whose charms ensnare her lovers, often leading them into compromising, deadly traps. She is an archetype of literature and art. Her ability to enchant, entice and hypnotize her victim with a spell was in the earliest stories seen as verging on supernatural; hence, the femme fatale today is still often described as having a power akin to an enchantress, seductress, witch, having power over men. Femmes fatales are typically villainous, or at least morally ambiguous, and always associated with a sense of mystification, and unease. The term originates from the French phrase femme fatale, which means 'deadly woman' or 'lethal woman'. A femme fatale tries to achieve her hidden purpose by using feminine wiles such as beauty, charm, or sexual allure. In many cases, her attitude towards sexuality is lackadaisical, intriguing, or frivolous. In some cases, she uses lies or coercion rather than charm. She may also make use of some subduing weapon such as sleeping gas, a modern analog of magical powers in older tales. She may also be (or imply that she is) a victim, caught in a situation from which she cannot escape. In early 20th-century American films, a femme fatale character was referred to as a vamp, a reference to The Vampire, Philip Burne-Jones's 1897 painting, and Rudyard Kipling's later 1897 poem, and the 1909 play and 1915 film A Fool There Was. Female mobsters (including Italian-American Mafia or Russian Mafia) have been portrayed as femmes fatales in films noir. Femmes fatales appear in James Bond films.
