I just went to one of his concerts in Columbia at the state fair it was awesome I've always loved him and his music HE IS AMAZING THIS ALBUM ROCKS!!!!!!!!! IF U DON'T HAVE THIS ALBUM U SHOULD GET IT IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE ALBUMS THAT I HAVE :)

Jake Owen has an amazing pure, country twang to his voice. He's such an energetic performer and overall in my top 5 country favorites,which are Tim McGraw, Eric Church, Jake Owen,luke Bryan and last but not least Carrie underwood. Alone with you is in my favorite song list too..but I won't get into that lol. Love you Jake:)

I'm not the biggest fan of country, so that's why this album gets 3 stars. It's a decent album overall, but it's pretty good as far as country music goes. Especially with the slew of cliche-dropping cookie cutter country albums out lately. This album has its share of cliche, but less than most and that's at least somewhat refreshing. His vocals are also pretty good. Even yawn worthy cliche songs like Keepin' It Country at least have an enjoyable vocal despite unimaginative lyrics. On the lesser cliched songs, the lyrics aren't bad. He's a fairly decent story teller. Overall, his slower songs are better. The One That Got Away is absolutely amazing. A true hit. I also like tracks 1, 3, and 9. I love the Kerouac imagery in track 9.

I have to admit that I have not listened to the whole album. All I had to hear was "Barefoot Bluejean Night.". What a piece of boring copycat bro-country crap! What? No so-called country artist has had a song about beer, hot girls, pick-up trucks, Friday night, the river (or lake and) the moon before now? And then, you break into the oooh-aaah lines, obviously intended for your mindless concert goers who apparently cannot remember lyrics with more than one syllable. What amateur intern song-writer came up with that mindless pap? Jake, the moisturizer metrosexual country image is over. It's been done to death. If this is the best you can do, get a day job! If not find some creative song-writers or listen to people like Eric Church, Zac Brown or Chris Ctapleton to get some inspiration for a song that people might remember past next December. Aren't you a little embarrassed by Barefoor Blue Jenas Night? Come on. Seriously?

I've had this album since day one and I have no idea why I'm just now writing a review haha. Anyways this album will NOT disappoint no matter what style of "country " you listen to. Or just music in general. Since everyone these days always whines about songs being too pop or too rock or too whatever. Theres a song for every mood on here. Songs to get you pumped up and songs to get you thinking. I've seen Jake 3 times in concert..which was amazing..and have met him in person. Apart from music he is just a great guy. Anyways all I wanna really say is this album blows me away even on the millionth listen!
