- It's great!!

I didn't like everything, but I still think it was an amazing album and a great band

- It's Radiohead

Honestly, after listening to "Madness", i cant tell whether I'm listening to radiohead or muse.

- Really Muse, really?

I have liked muse's records up until now. They figured since the resistance and black holes and revelations were so big that they could just whip up a crappy record and everyone would buy it. I hate the dub step that they added to a bunch of their songs. This record is sloppy and no time was put into it.

- I know no one is ever gonna read this but...

I feel the need to give a little bit of credit to Muse for this one. If you actually look up the things that are the subject matter, the whole album makes a little more sense. The topics dealt with here are huge and complex. Kudos to Muse for not only writing an entire album about thermodynamics, but also going against the social norm. Concept albums have nearly died off, and its nice to see a big band thats not afraid to put one out there. All that being said, the music is terrible. Few songs are listenable let alone repeatable. The 2nd law comes so close to being an amazing album, but is too close to that standard and sounds awful. Reccommendations: Animals, The 2nd Law -Isolated System

- Love it!

I honestly believe this is a good album and that Muse has really gone far since their first one. I also believe that if you read other reviews before you listen to the album is a really unwise move because after all everyone's different.

- who doesn't like this?

I love this Album it's a master piece my favourite Muse Album! If u don't like this than I'm speechless. This is the best Album ever made!

- They just keep getting better!

In my lifetime, the greatest bands have evolved from their beginnings. Muse is no exception. GREAT WORK!

- #YOSNAP!

Amazing music buy the album now my fav sony is madness

- This is my first Muse album

I bought The 2nd Law and Black Holes & Revelations after I heard Knights of Cydonia and Madness about a week ago and I loved them both. I don't understand how people could not like this album, it's got a really cool space feel to it, as I've found most Muse material does. My favourites are Supremacy, Madness, Panic Station, Explorers, Liquid State, and both parts of that 2nd Law thingy. Easily worth it.

- wow. just wow.

i never write reviews but to me, The 2nd Law really deserves one. i can understand where the reviews that bash this album are coming from because of the difference in sound from this to Muse's first five albums. but, this album is truly a masterpiece. there is not a day i do not think about it and i listen to it almost everyday. i really find this album unique and i really applaud the experimental component to this. does anyone really want seven albums from an artist that all sound the same ranging from 1999-2015? to me, this is a really strong and powerful album and i really find matt's compositions better and better each time i listen to them. dom's drums were particularly unique in "supremacy" and chris's vocals in "save me" get me every time. i know this album was released four years ago but it has held great things with me for that long, which is why i am writing this. so thank you Dom, Chris, and Matt for a fantastic album!

- Could not get through a whole song.

I tried to listen to this electric rock or what ever they're calling it, but I couldn't get through a whole song. Great cover art through, 4 stars for that.

- Great!

Though not Muse’ best album they make up for it with these amazing songs! -Madness -Follow Me -Supremacy -Survival A must buy!

- Madness

The song madness is so satisfying just wait for the end and the vocals are amazing 😄😄😄😄

- NOT THAT GOOD

I am a huge Muse fan, I have liked them before anyone knew about them. But this was not a good album. It was a cross with their style and techno, and it isn't a good combination. Muse should play their music like they did in The Resistance and Absolution.

- Favorite Muse Album Yet!!

Muse keeps evolving, and this latest iteration is simply my favorite yet. I love every song, and I LOVE how they brought a choir and full orchestra in on this one. I hope they continue to do soundtrack and themed albums in the future…this was amazing. The only thing better was the 2nd Law concert!

- ❤️

❤️

- .......

In my opinion this album was a huge step in the wrong direction for Muse. The only song i could really enjoy from this album was supremecy, that was Muse! The rest is not why we listen to Muse and songs like Madness just were not enjoyable to me. I listen to Muse for songs like Citizen Erased, Butterflies and Hurricanes, Assasin, Space Dementia but there was nothing of that quality in this album

- Great album

Great album I love it

- Explicit

I've always like muse (creative and clean), but Panic Station was explicit which is why I rated the album 4 starts. Otherwise I would've rated it 5. For the future make them clean muse.

- Awesome album

Great variety and sound. Fantastic.

- Best when not sounding like U2

I love this album, but I'd suggest they sound their best when they're not emulating U2, which happens here and there. They don't need to go there, their unique sound is great enough.

- Not Absolution but still great

Even when it's not Muse's greatest they are still amazing.

- Muse

That is all that needs to be said. Now buy the song.

- See them do it live it will make this album amazing

I had loved the resistance and up until last night hated this album. But seeing them play some of this live brought me to give it a real shot and I have not been able to stop listening to it. I was always a fan of their harder stuff and thought this was weak but it is just as epic as anything on absolution. The dub step influence in Follow is amazing. Give it a shot with the lights out and a good pair of headphones it is brilliant.

- A Good Different

While the more electronic style may not be everyone’s favorite, there are certainly some amazing songs on this album.

- Not their best...

But certainly not their worst. I’ve been a fan of Muse since I first hear Uprising, of course I HAD to listen to all of their songs. I think this is just a tad bit too, ‘mainstream’ with some tracks. But overall, I think it’s a decent album, but not as good as Everything before The Resistance like Origins of Symmetry, Black Holes and Revelations, etc. I still like to jam out to it, but it’s definitely nowhere near as good as their others… I’m hoping they go back to their older roots in this upcoming album

- PERFECT.

THIS IS ABSOLUTLY PERFECT!

- Love it!

Does not disappoint!

- Phenomenal!

Obviously this album is rated almost completely based on opinion but I think that the effort and hardwork Muse put into this should be acknowledged. Not only has it been 3 years in-the-making but they came out with 15 solid songs that do NOT disappoint. People need to accept the fact that the old Muse is no more, and they are progressively exploring new music styles. Every one of these songs is solid on audio appeal as well as lyrics. Bellamy is a genius! Two thumbs up on this album, definitely worth the money.

- Another great album.

Madness gets me everytime. I can’t believe the rest of the Musers don’t agree.

- This album is great

This band has been around longer than the people listening to them, and has produced many many albums. This album has a theme. The second law of thermodynamics. They made an album. They could have been a band that takes a long "break". Acutally take the time to listen to the songs and lyrics. They made an album with thirteen brand new songs for us there fans. This has a different sound? GET OVER IT. MUSE is still MUSE.

- :)

Favorite album by Muse

- Eerily Beautiful

People will hate on me all they want but I just got around to listening to The 2nd Law by MUSE and I love the experimental and different sounds of the album. "Madness" is a bit poppy but the other songs like "Survival" are eerily beautiful as you imagine the broken world the characters of this concept album live in. Albeit the dub step in "The 2nd Law: Unsustainable" totally ruins the vibe given off by the terrifyingly beautiful orchestral intro but if you put in the album's philosophy into perspective during the dub step drop it could easily represent the breakdown and destruction of mankind. Ultimately I liked this album and hope that the band could learn more about what they want to play in the future.

- What an atrocity...

This album is terrible. It made me think Muse was trying to keep up with everyone else at the time this album came out. I am more pleased with "Psycho" on Drones than this album. It does not live up to its previous albums... Yes even The Resistance was better than this.

- SIMILAR¿?

Similar to Coldplay's Magic? In my opinion it's very similar. Different style but same technique towards each song! Both very great and excellent.

- Slightly Disappointed

Overall, I did enjoy this album. However, if you're new to Muse, I wouldn't suggest starting here. The 2nd Law is, hands down, Muse's worst album.

- Not that bad

The music on this album is okay. It's not as good as the earlier albums, but i still like it. Most of the songs are pretty good, but the only one I really like is Panic Station. Not worth buying the whole album, but it's worth a listen.

- Supremacy

Supremacy is under rated

- Awesome song

It's my favorite song such a amazing song I love it so much get it now 👏🏻🤘🏻👍🏻🎙

- Amazing

All in all, I love the album. There are better albums by Muse but this one does have is high points. A few of the songs didn't really go into my favourites but I lovev all of them. But I do hope they make better albums in the future. There are a few songs on this album that I really absolutley love and all the other I just like and they are still great but nat as good. I wish it would have been more "rock" music you know what I mean.

- Muse

Not really what i expected. 5 stars for Panic Station though! :)

- TRUE MUSE FANS WILL LOVE THIS ALBUM

If you were a true Muse fan you would realize that no album is the same for them. Which is great! I don't want a sell out, same sound band. If you wanted that then you should go listen to Radiohead or The Killers. This album is pure genius and Muse just keeps growing in an amazing direction. There is no other band this amazing. It's that simple.

- BEST BAND EVER

I love every muse song and I always will!

- I didn't get it at first

When I first bought the album the day it came out I wasn't really excited about what I heard besides being an instant fan of "animals". Now having seen them in concert and watching the behind the scenes production that went into making the album. I think that this is their best album yet. They do so many different sounds its hard to comprehend at first, but this is a must buy for anybody with a set of ears!!

- MUSE ROCKS IT AGAIN

A lot of people are saying that Muse has lost their edge with The 2nd Law. I disagree. This album is definitely experimental, but isn't that the "edge" we are looking for? This album is full of emotional anthems like "Follow Me", truly edgy, power-producing songs like "Panic Station" and "Supremecy". Listen to some of these and realize that their edge is not gone and won't be for a while. If Muse has lost its edge with this album, then what would you call what happened to The Killers? A crime against music? But that's a different discussion for a different time.

- Loved it !

I've loved Muse for a long time, and I really liked this album. Not to mention World War Z played this song in the movie! Recommend it !!!!

- What Band is This?

For most of my life, Muse has been my favorite band. They put on the best concert I've ever seen and three of the best cd's ever created. Resistance was okay and I stuck with them through it, but what is this? It really makes me sad too see such a great band completely change their music to something that I don't even know if it's even rock anymore. I'll be honest, I hate how seemingly every new cd a band makes these days gets shot down for them "selling out". But with this, there's nothing else you can say. I will not be buying this album because it isn't from the band I fell in love with and I'm not a big fan of dubstep. Matt Bellamy is one of the best guitarists, piano players, and overall musicians I've ever heard. On this album I think I heard a guitar once. And although it might not make a difference with one guy not buying the album, since there are thousands of Twlight fans and Skrillex fans that will easily make up for it, but Muse has lost one of their biggest fans. It's a real shame. I still love the guys and will listen to their other music forever. If they ever come out with an album along the lines of Origins, Absolution, or Supermassive Black Hole, and stop making computer noises, I'll be back in a second. So take this for what you will.

- Excellent, and Apparently Misunderstood

This is an absolutely incredible album. The concept is compelling, and every song serves it perfectly, conveying another aspect of the whole in just the right flavor and subtlety. It's surprising to me to see so many reviews that write off a good deal of the album as "indulgent" or over the top. If one takes a moment to consider what each song is really about, they'll hopefully see that nothing is actually out of place. Survival is the most obvious example; many reviews here (including the editor's note) seem to see it as pop-oriented, upbeat and even optimistic, and over-the-top, but the entire point of the song is to portray both the appeal and the near-apocalyptic danger of the intensely competitive mindset we are often drawn to. This is just one example of the apparent misunderstandings that have come out of a refusal to consider this album as a whole and in all of its depth, and it makes me sad to see that long-time fans of Muse can't see what they are missing.

- Madness

Makes me cry years later

- How is having different styles a bad thing?

If you have a problem with muse branching out and experimenting, then it's because you're too musically incompetent to understand more than one style of music.
