OK, I was late to the BFF party. Heard one of their songs and was hooked. As one other reviewer commented, this is a normally tight studio band. But the weakest component has always been Ben Folds' singing. The vocals on this album are very weak. And usually the best part of a live album is the spontaneity of solos and such, which are also lacking on this album. So I'll recommend sticking to the studio-produced albums.

- Ben Folds + Darren Jessee + Robert Sledge = AWESOME - Ben Folds songs of all eras have rangy, difficult melodies to sing - AND equally (if not even more) difficult piano parts to play - LIVE music combines all of these attributes in one complete package, to be judged as a WHOLE, not discreet parts - Jessee’s and Sledge’s parts are as vital and visceral as the titular Folds’, even after all these years apart - People on the internet don’t know what they’re talking about Buy this album. It’s the one you wish they made in 1998. (Un)fortunately, these types of albums are only profitable on iTunes.

One of my all time favorite bands. Saw 'em twice last summer. Once at Summerfest, then again at Chicago Theater. Both times, the two crowd highlights were, unarguably, "Army" and "Kate". And frankly, it's unforgivable-bordering-on-blasphemous-that two of their greatest and most popular songs (both of which have been live "standards" since their respective releases in the 90's) were left off this otherwise very solid and welcomed release. "Tom & Mary" & "Uncle Walter" are a great additions for us die-hards, the Jesus Christ Superstar-inflicted "Do It Anyway" is a great touch as well. But "Landed"? Instead of any number of actual BF5 tunes? It's a great tune and all, but not at the expense of so many other songs which could have been here. Swap it out for either "Army" or "Kate" and this gets a full 5 stars. It's a very, very good live album - and it's especially nice to have some authorized live BF5. But leaving off the aforementioned tunes - and not, to my knowledge, anyway - scheduling a release of them and others as downloadable bonus tracks (I'd buy the entirety of Live at the Warfield) is an unfortunate mistake, and a bit of an affront to anyone who wanted a true souvenir of last summer & fall's historic and incredible reunion tour.

Seriously where are tracks like Army and Kate? And why is Landed on there? Such a weird decision for an otherwise cool release.

I was at the show on 1.31.13 at The Warfield in San Francisco, CA, from which many of the recordings for this album come. It was an amazing show. I've no doubt this album will match that descriptor.

BFF has always been a musically tight band. Unfortunately, Ben's voice is the weakest link, and in this live setting there's no studio wizardry keeping him in tune. These performances have a nice energy to them, but I'll stick to the studio recordings.

The quality of recording as well as the energy from Darren and Robert, as well as the choice of songs soundly make this a quality addition to your BFF collection. I love being proved wrong......
