Catfish238311 - Good AlbumI like it how it sounds, something different
Morgan. :) - I love Madonna!I've loved Madonna my whole life and I got this cd when I was 4 and I know every word! It brings back so many memories :)
niphren - HER MAXIMUM DEBUTTHIS IS MADONNA ON FULL-THROTTLE BECAUSE SHE REALLY POURS HER HEART AND SOUL OUT HERE, WITH HER GUITARS SHE IS REMINISCENT OF KURDT KOBAIN. SHE "JUST WANTED TO TRY IT,"AND SUCESS!
Gilbert-Ian - Y2KThis album was released when I was 18. It was everything then and it’s everything now. Unforgettable. #MyYouth
urbanPHX - Amazing! My favorite tracks are:
-"Impressive Instant" - (I'm pleasantly surprised that most iTunes reviewers actually agree with me, here! The beat is SICK!)
-"Runaway Lover" - (If you like the "Ray of Light" album, you'll like this. This sounds like a leftover from that album. Hot!)
-"I Deserve It" - (I love the chill vibe of this song! And the lyrics are so poetic! Nice beat, too. Very mature for a Madonna track!)
-"Amazing" - (Okay, this track is getting beat up by my fellow iTune reviewers, I happen to like this song very much. Yes, it does sound eerily familiar to "Beautiful Stranger" SO WHAT! Like "Beautiful Stranger" this track is equally as brilliant. I actually think I like this better than "Beautiful Stranger" as it is not quite as loud. "Amazing" also has a nicer melody than "Beautiful Stranger." I love the words as well. I can relate!)
-"Nobody's Perfect" - (I have JUST discovered this track. I HATE the autotune! But I still let this track play when I listen to this album.)
-"Don't Tell Me" - (I think the video made this song hot for me. Come on... is this not one of the most coolest music videos ever! And the DANCERS on it!? HOT! I like the sound effects at the end of this song. VERY COOL!)
I like how Madonna always has a theme with her albums (which was later adopted by Britney Spears), and on this album, the theme is a Cowboy/Western theme. Picture the "Don't Tell Me" video. (Okay, I'll stop thinking about that video, LOL! COOL VIDEO!) Honorable mention goes to the title track "Music." Pretty tame compared with the rest of the album, though. And I ran the hell out of that track back in 2000! I never felt the last three tracks much, anyway.
Mdna92 - Yes yes YES!Music, impressive instant, amazing, run away lover dont tell me and cyberraga are the best.. I love the picture she painted with this album..
lameslayer - GreatAlbum ! Love Madonna
Marsan-O - +SIMPLY WONDERFUL!!!!! "MADONNA" ,YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!I like Madonna so much ......SIMPLY WONDERFUL! MADONNA,YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!
Lebanese_prince - Average recordThe title track I believe is her last essential single . The rest are unforgettable
adalverto - MusicWith a new decade comes a New sound Reinventing music once again, the sound of this album was ahead of the time , A great album to own and still sound fresh for today’s music.
musicloversuckers1 - [3.5 stars] It's the music to my ears!"Music" divides me because as a pop album, it soars, although when comparing "Music" to "Like a Prayer", it comes off as commercial and artificial. However, what made me give this album a good score is that I enjoyed it for what it was and what it set out to do. "Music" surely does bring the people together. Although Madonna may have some slip-ups ("True Blue", "Erotica", "Bedtime Stories"), she does have some strong albums ("Madonna", "Like a Virgin", "Like a Prayer", AND "Music"). Madonna, keep the music coming! "Music" is a recommendation.
Walker Shedivy - MusicI can't stop listening to music:):):):):)
Darboviccci - Not her bestNow,I'm a Madonna fan. Extreme one too. This album is her worst one. Even MDNA and HARD CANDY is better. I just don't get it. Am I missing something here? Usually you have to listen to her songs a few times then they REALLY grow on you. Nothing really grew on me from this alb though. I donno. The queen doesn't usually make mistakes, so I'll listen to it a few more times. See what happens.
Coyne95 - Gave it a chance...Growing up i knew the song 'Music' and remembered hearing 'Dont Tell Me' but recently i called 'Music' and 'American Life' her worst albums, i was wrong about this one. This is pretty much the new millenium(2000) Electropop version of 'Ray Of Light' (her very best work) and Ray Of Light was hard to follow up. 'What It Feels Like For A Girl' is the true standout. 'Runaway Lover' is great too. 'Impressive Instant' is good,a little noisy, but cool. 'Amazing' and 'Gone' are the other standouts.
Woltrap_ - musicI will always like her song music. the beat is just to me is just something that you can dance to.
music. is. love. <3 - Totally worth it!i've been listening to this album since i was really little and i just have to say this is one of Madonna's best albums.
lmaoo0okjhgf - her second bestthis is great!!
tweetybird18 - Love this album!!!!I used to listen to this album when I was 4 and I still love it! My mom used to blast the music in the car. It brings back so many memories!
Mellissa Brown - I just heard this song in the car!On the way home, I heard this song! I also heard it on Tom & Jerry Meet & Greet!
#1victoriousfan - I Like it!I like it because I have the japanese vesion with her Non-Album track Cyberraga.
Jfhfgcdgdgf - Kool beansTotally awesome as they say music made the people come together yeah!
johnnightshade - TimelessGEM😎
Drew Armani - MusicThe year 2000 was good to Madonna. She was still reaching number one on the charts. This album was a great follow up to “Ray of Light” and the cowgirl reinvention was not a bad idea. This album screams early 2000s dance music. More singles definitely should’ve been released but we should be thankful for what we got. Classic Madonna as always.
Matt28K - TheThe only problem thing about it going is to get deuce deuce and when she I am
therreid - Favorite Madonna albumAnd my favorite album of all time! This was even more advanced than Ray of light imo! Mirwäis production was so amazing and unique. From the catchy dance electronica of music, impressive instant, runaway lover, and amazing, the acoustic i deserve it, don't tell me, and gone, to the spirituality of nobody's perfect and paradise, to the best track on the album which is all of those combined, what it feels like for a girl, this album truly has something for everyone :)
HoustonSammy - Temporarily maturing artistI don't understand the concept that Ray of Light and anything after is the "mature Madonna." After such an amazing, practically perfect creation as Ray of Light, I truly cannot grasp why she took this direction. I'm really only ok with Don't Tell Me and Paradise - and those two are among my favorite Madonna songs - but this panic-attack-inducing overproduction does not appeal to me. I must be missing a certain slant to this if this album is to be lumped into the same category as Ray of Light. Not for me.
James Amos - Best Madonna Album EVA!This is the best madonna album ever and every song is good
MrRyeRye23 - Short but sweet!A short album but sweet! 😘❤️ classic album for the catalog!
Jordanmermaid - Music is the bestI think that music is the best song I ever heard
LeslieM.45 - I Remember Every Song!Madonna is a great artist. Her song Holiday sounded like an episode of Chowder to me :D (I'm 12). The album Music influenced me to start dancing. It's just so robotic sounding and from the future. I hadn't heard this album for at least 8 or 9 years. My mom bought the album Celebration and we listened to it in the car. I recognized Music right away. So I wanted to hear the album Music because I wanted to see if I could remember every song. I listened to every song and knew every single one. My favorite has to be Nobody's Perfect because her voice is like morphed into a robot or something. And I always listened to this one the most. I didn't know the words because I was only like 2 but I loved the beats and rhythm. I can't believe Madonna is 50! I mean, that's awesome! She's staying in shape and keeping her vocals amazing! Once again, I love this album! I have it somewhere.... Again, if this doesn't make sense, I'm only 12. So thanks for reading!
-Lesie
Go Madonna! :D
plzy33 - PerfectionShe amazes me every time!
PROMO_MUSIC_PLUS - A BORING ATTEMPT AT A RETRO DISCO...MADONNA is a great artist..... however.... this one was a slip for me. I think this album has some great singles... including "Music", "Nobody's Perfect", "Don't Tell Me", & "Gone".... however that's about it. Alot of these songs just seem like they've been done before....and they sound washed up. This is my least favorite Madonna Album.
DJ B.O.T. - Truly a Ray of LightMadonna has always been a ray of light on the dance floor. This is no exception. Dance your booty off, Baby!
jrodgers22 - Job well done.... again perfectly Madonna!!!!!!!!!!!Music is one of Madonna's best albums no doubt and one of the best selling albums of all time this is a great album to play when you need a certain lift. Some standout tracks on this album are:
1.Music
2.Don't Tell Me
3.Nobody's Perfect
4.Gone and many more!!!
I see a lot of similarities between Music and Ray of Light with the quiet technical ambient sound of the album and the meaningful lyrics are so powerful you have to get this album!!!!!!!!!
POCHO_PONCE - Descargalo"Music " es mi tema favorito de este disco , descargala
notwithstanding - a disasterthis is the album when Madonna stopped leading the pack and started following it. filled with bad drum machines, nauseating synths, trite lyrics and enough autotune to kill any good idea, it was the start of a slew of bad Madonna records that focus less on songwriting, melody, and career progress like her previous work, and more on quick album sales fueled by night club hook ups. this is where she lost her soul. following the brilliant "Ray Of Light" must have seemed like too daunting a challenge for her, so she seems to have just given up. the albums that she did in the 80's and 90's still hold up sonically today, while this and several of the albums that follow it already sound embarrassingly dated. what a shame.
Designer86 - It's OKAYFew good tracks. Her voice is WAY too computerized. Unless you like that, buy it. Tracks 4,7, & 8 are good though.
Xgirl909 - GoodCan you please add the bonus tracks??
Gio81 - Love you from 1981 - present!!!Your mind and your music had shaped me in ways you'll never know. I LOVE you!!!!!
JRiley1230 - ClassicLove it
Steven Hughes Iphone - Queen MadonnaI Luv this album!
dangerous_muse - So many underrated songsThis album is full
Of amazing songs !! Specially I deserve it the sounds and all were ahead of its time .
Simplepleasures. - "Selling out is not my thing...'Music by Madonna is an infectious pop album released in 2000. This album is quite different from Ray of Light but Madge continues to churn out thoughtful pop records. What It Feels Like For A Girl is the best track here, I can relate! Gone, Amazing, and Don't Tell Me are standouts as well. Hot, hot, hot album. Download today!
hannahrick - Memorable and enjoyable album!! :DI've loved this album, Music, since I was a kid. My mom used to own the CD and I'd always ask her to play it in the car. My favorite is still I Deserve It. I was very young when the album was played for me, and yet I still remember chorus after not hearing it for close to ten years. That's Madonna for you...memorable and fantastic. As she will be forever just like this album :D
Kikelyyyn - Music!!!!!!!!The name of the album says it all. Music at its best. Live the country concept of this. Something different and amazing. Country meets pop meets electronic. Must have for all the music fans.
Reneedrian79 - Music by madonnaA very hip album. LOVE it!!
Emmymusiclover - I love the album!!!reminds me of Nelly Furtado's Whoa Nelly! which came out on the first year....why is she dressed like a cowgirl?? with a cowgirl theme/??
littleone94 - woah! dude!i never knew Music was by madonna X3
until i looked at this album..i never even knew the song was called Music haha
Luca Strike - Madonna Shows Another Side with MusicWhile Music, the much anticipated follow-up to Ray of Light, has Madonna continuing her experimentation in Electronica, by no means does it define itself exclusively in that genre. Madonna knows better to repeat herself and in so doing, Music becomes a curious hybrid of said Electronica, Funk, 80's synth cheese and oddly enough, Folk and Country. When daring into new territory, it's never certain what the results may be; which is why Music showcases just as many brilliant gems as they do wild clunkers.
Let's get the duds out of the way first: Nobody's Perfect falls flat, relying too heavily on its vocoded delivery and blander-than-soup lyrics. Runaway Lover, for all its sonic knobs and twiddles, can't compensate for what's essentially a lousy hook. Paradise (Not for me) is a posturing ditty without an ounce of charm, while I Deserve It is just a bunch of sullen stew -- though it is somewhat redeemed in Madonna's melancholy delivery of the lines, many roads I have travelled.
While these tracks flounder, you can't say the same about the title track, Music. It's part dance floor anthem/part cheese-fest that bores indelibly into your head and feet. Airy, sleek, and unforgettably catchy, Music is a pure cheddar pop hit that won't let you forget the beat. Impressive Instant is a whirligig roof raiser in which Madonna purrs the utterly silly lines, I like to singy singy singy/like a bird on a wingy wingy wingy. Who would have thought after the dense and high minded seriousness of Ray of Light, that Madonna would actually once again showcase her sorely lacking sense of humor and playfulness? And while Amazing is a straight up DNA splice of Beautiful Stranger, it doesn't make it any less catchy. But the two most indisputably brilliant tracks are the back to back wonders of Don't Tell Me and What it Feels Like for a Girl. The gorgeous Don't Tell Me starts off with a staccato guitar riff reminiscent of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama". It's a smart ballad with just the right touches of synth and guitar that's evocative without being derivative. The flourish of violins toward the end marks this song as a true original.
What it Feels Like for a Girl is a midtempo sparkler about the role of adolescent girls in today's society and coming from an older and wiser Madonna, it also doubles as a poignant metaphor to the legacy the last generation of women have bestowed upon the younger. At first, it can seem lackluster and directionless until Madonna croons the simple poetic lines, silky smooth, lips as sweet as candy. From then on you're hooked and it's delivered with such emotion that the track clearly stands as the heart of the album.
Music, all in all, is a scattershot affair. With hits and misses all over the place, this album gets my praise for Madonna's lack of complacency and willingness to explore new sonic territory. We've all known her as cultural icon, postfeminist chanteuse, reborn mother, lousy actress, etc., but Music should cement the notion of what fans have always suspected about Madonna: that she's a musician.
Filiberto Bustamante - PerfectMadonna is the queen of the pop, live u Madonna keep!!!!!
