Just, just wrong. S&M worked for a few songs, a few, from two discs worth. This doesn't work at all. Please, iTunes, if you have a heart, just delete this from the store and shoot the people that actually bought it.

I'm all about trying a different twist on tunes but this is the second worse thing you have done. Have you ever thought about jammn with Jason again? Have always dug Spider-Man with all his gigs but I do miss Jason and his vocals. Don't ever do this crap again you are ruining the machine known as MetallicA!

I'm not going to lie, I'm 29 and got into Metallica in 1997. I actually enjoy Load and Reload. I eventually worked my way backwards over the years and discovered the epic masterpieces that are their first 4 albums. With that said, this sorry excuse for a performance is proof that they need to retire and stop embarrassing themselves.

This is a performance/chapter to be forgotten. I think a high school band could have performed better. Frankly, I am shocked to see that this was even rehearsed at all, given how atrocious this was on live TV. For all of us that were alive when Metallica first performed on the Grammys, and can recall what Metallica worked so hard to build, this played more like a funeral pyre than anything else. Embarrassing

The piano is out of place. This pretty much ruined the song for me.

I would have to say that I also feel the piano is drowned out a little too much, and wish it was more prevelant as it was at the live preformance. Overall the band sounds awesome, as you could expect!

Metallica has been dead since the black album . The were always a studio band who could never pull off anything live . This is boring , basic and dead sounding . They basically ruined a song that I always respected .

Just think, if all of Metallica would have perished when Cliff did, they would have gone down in the annuls of metal history as one of the greatest bands of it’s kind. Now, we have this watered down, pop rock band the churns out geriatric versions of once great songs. The band once know as masters of thrash have become a parody of themselves. It’s sad.

The piano sounds crowbarred into the song. They should have just let Metallica play. They sound awesome as usual. Why ruin one of the greatest metal songs ever.

I was a Metallica fan until they decided they needed an “image refresh”. From then on they’ve been a shell of what they once were. Granted, everything must evolve - I guess I don’t like what they’ve evolved into. Their performance at the awards show was terrible. I don’t think that the piano added anything to the song. As gifted a pianist as Lang Lang is this entire performance was a complete mismatch.

Do we really need this? All i see is James holding his hand now for a quick buck

This is always what Metallica has been about taking risks and doing it THEIR WAY. This is not for everyone for sure but if you enjoy stuff that isn't the NORM this is for you... If you hate anything other than speed/thrash metal then sorry this isn't it. I love this song as this was my intro to Metallica way back in 1988, and now to hear this its still as brilliant as ever even with a drowned out piano. Times and music have changed, and its great to see Metallica evolve and invent new styles.

I don't see why people are complaining so much about this version. While yes, the piano was a bit drowned out, James Hetfield sounds and the rest of the band did very well in my opinion.

I personally like it a lot! Only problem with it is you can't really hear the piano.

Its nice to get hype up for the new album but... This is not the way to do it. Piano with a heavy metal song? It just doesn't work. I hope the album is better. 28 people don't know what Metallica is.

This is a great version it is not horrible 5 star rating! This is my all-time favorite band and song.

The once "We don't need air play to sell albums" band has left earth!! Record Companies w/ $$$ took this band w/ awesome riffs and attitude and did what drug dealers do w/ "crack" and now look! Metallica needs rehab. Bring back attitude, riffs and keep the money hounds (record co.) off your trail ...... let us do "our Metallica thing"

They took an awesome song and destroyed it with this piano player who was not even playing along with them-he was just playing trills and "lead piano" over the song. Saw it live and it was truly bad.

While this isn't the Grammys performance which had such a better vibe, this is still cool (albeit bad sound quality)! The fact that some goes to charity, I'm in. I loved the S & M album which this was almost a nice throwback to. Haters will hate. Metallica is still Metallica.

I don't mind a piano but cannot hear it on this sample, even with quality Skullcandy's on. Where did the Metallica I know go? I have not bought an album since the Black Album, and even that I'm not sure till this day whether or not my cash could've gone to something different. Metallica is an amazing quartet of talent, no doubt. A listen to anything from the 80's and you know you are hearing something special- they are a force to be reckoned with, especially in the predawn of thrash and death metal. They were brutal and melodic at the same time and had killer riffs and grooves. What happened?

To be honest, Lang Lang isn't a bad piano player. It's just that this collaboration wasn't the best. I give credit to Metallica and Lang Lang for working hard at this, all of them are outstanding musicians.

This song, not unlike Lulu, is like finding an onion in your ice cream. It's awful, makes you question your judgement in ice cream selection, and leaves a bad taste in your mouth for days.

I'm surprised that this track was released for purchase. The audio of the performance on TV was well balanced. In this version, Lang Lang's piano can't be heard. Do not purchase!

its pointless to buy this too much echo on vocals if you want it for lang lang dont even buy it the piano is there but hard to hear if you want a live version with orchistra music go get the s&m version if not just get it off the movie soundtrack (live) or ...And Justice For All (Studio)

Its been said.. All the one star reviews are the closed minded individuals that would hate their own mom if she had played the piano instead of Lang Lang. It's art people !! Metallica rulled the planet in the 80's thrash scene and they ruled the 90's , and continue to rule the planet selling out stadium after stadium! What's your band doing?? Open you mind and understand as musicians do. You don't alwasy write the same song, the same guitar riff, you experiment with different ideas and so forth. Some better then others. However you dont hate your own child for getting detention one, two , three times right!! Voices change with age..fact! Enjoy the willingness to be creative and try different stuff .. that is what ICON bands do. That is why they are where they are in the first place since the inception. Long live Metallica! So whoever said this was worse than Lulu was right. Seeing a good song turn terrible due to Lang Lang's terrible piano performance with off key pianos, and Kirk Hammett's solos changing from good to bad, is a lot sadder than seeing two good artists make a terrible album, and having James call himself a table. At best. Embarrassing. James sounds terrible, and the band sounds like a bad cover version of itself. The piano is useless on a song like this. I'd rather pay someone $1.29 to punch me in the face.

Metallica hasnt been around 30+ years without taking chances. I really dont see the big issue with this version of 'ONE' its basicly the "Jamin" verison from 2ofOne with a master pianst added in the background, I enjoyed it when they played the grammys and this rehersal version

This is something a real MetallicA fan will want/need in their collections! I was skeptical at first with the whole piano thing. But I am a true MetallicA fan and not a MetallicA hater fan. This was cool MetallicA isn’t Slayer they just don’t do the same garbage over and over. If they did people would complain about that. MetallicA is open to new things. How about getting behind them and supporting them! MetallicA Family Forever!

Much better sounding that the live Grammy performance - the mix is a lot better. Awesome collaboration and version of One.

This version is a chance to hear Metallica and Lang Lang perform "One" with a much clearer mix than they recieved at the Grammys. Lang Langs excellent piano skills really bring out he beauty of the song and Metallica's performance is brilliant, powerful and heavy. Everybody knows this as one of the classic metal songs of all time, and this version is excellent!
