My favorites could have easy been on MJ 's invincible album,it sounds still fresh and up to date after all these years. Oh and for those who think on the beginning of the song xscape when MJ sings that its not him, it is him he sings in a more lower registrar check 2,000 watts on the invincible album it's Michael also that lower singing was even brilliant and even sexy . I Miss MJ dearly don't boycott the album buy it to hear MJ and that wonderful voice like no other.

The overall treble and bass composition will make you want to get off of your feet and start dancing. Perhaps evident of Michael's early, unfortunate departure from Earth is the relatively repetitious lyrics such as the chorus repeats in "Chicago". Overall, however this is a great album and I would recommend to anyone, MJ fan or not.

Skip these awful remixes and just buy the songs that Michael Jackson actually worked on - the demos.

maa720 - Still The King of PopI am a true life long fan of Michael Jackson. I grew up with my mom having his posters on the wall and seeing her dance to Off The Wall and Thriller. By the time Bad was released my mother stopped being a fan. I however, became the one who continued his music coming in the house. I was obsessed with Bad and the Dangerous. Then HIStory was what made me truly love and appreciate him as an artist like no other. Blood on the Dance Floor and then Invincible continued his very different style that kept him in a league of his own. I was so excited to see him withy he This Is It comeback, and like all of his core fans, felt a major sense of loss when he died. From Michael and Immortal to now Xscape, we still get to hear Michael from beyond the grave. Of course the remakes and production and collaborations may not exactly what Michael himself would have done. That's not the point of this music. The point is to keep his legacy growing and strengthening just like other mega stars that have gone in the past. The difference is, Michael was an artist first and a perfectionist. He was a business man as well. All 3 of those qualities create the music released after passing. I bought this album in the deluxe version because not only did it give me the trending contemporary style with prodigies helping him, it came with the original unedited versions that are the real Michael Jackson. I must say, when I listened to this album straight through from track 1 to 17 I cried. I miss him, and this album made me personally feel like he left us all a gift. Some do not truly appreciate this gift. I do. And I will continue to support Michael as an artist until I die. Love u n miss u Michael.

He had, in his own words, hundreds of songs that he'd written and recorded but never released because they weren't ready or they didn't make the cut. So who now gets to choose? Who gets to "finish" them? (And how? Could someone else take a paintbrush and finish Michelangelo's work? Same deal.) Who gets to choose what goes out for people to hear and have on a "Michael Jackson" album? To me, anything after 2009 is not real MJ.
Btw, don't blame the Jackson family for this - they have nothing to do with it. It is the people in charge of MJs estate who makes these choices...and the money. The only Jackson's to profit in any way from anything the Estate does are Michael's mother and his three children - they are each meant to get a percentage of the Estate. But they don't make any decisions over what happens. So if you're looking for someone to blame, don't pick the Jackson's.

My favourite song on this album is Slave to the Rhytym which is a classic sounding MJ song and a dance floor classic to Moonwalk to I also love beat it with Eddie Van Halen who is also awesome.

Charles T G Clarke - Lessons Have Been Learned From Previous Posthumous AlbumI have had the opporunity to listen to the tracks on the standard and deluxe editions of this album for the past week and a half. Of the two the deluxe edition is better. Why not stretch that extra four or so pounds and get the deluxe edition.
Anyway, the standard edition is a stellar set of eight contemporised demonstration tracks recorded by Michael Jackson between 1983 and 2001. The quality of the production is second to none and there are a variety of producers. For the most part the vocals were extracted by the producers and production was seated over it. Unlike 'Michael' the production does not smother Jackson's iconic vocals, but enhances them greatly. The vocals themselves seem to be remastered and boosted allow them to pierce the overlayed production. Long story short, the vocals are at the centre of each song.
Con: Timbaland and Jerome "JRoc" Harmon produced 'Do You Know Where Your Children Are" and after a week and a half of listening to it unbiasly, it still stands out as an uncomfortable track to listen to. While Rodney Jerkins asserts Jackson's possible love of such production, I'm not so sure. In this case, the original version on the deluxe edition is better than the contemporised version.
Pro: The remaining tracks are well produced, adding an extra punch to the vocals, check out 'Loving You' for example. Timbaland's production is not overpowering. He is sympathetic to Jackson's vocal performance, which is admirable. 'Slave To The Rhythm' is the highlight of Timbaland's production.
Stargate continue to respect the Jackson vocals, again giving them added power and rhythm. The documentary in the deluxe edition goes into some details about the various production tracks involved. A very enlightening moment in the documentary.
The highlight of the album is the title track 'Xscape' which just oozes anger with those horns playing in the background. The lyrics of the song are crystal clear about who is getting abused, but the addition of the horns just emphasises that anger and frustration all the more, making by far the best contemporised track, that seemlessly complements the vocals no end.
This album is posthumous, it will never live up to Thriller. Furthermore, I don't see why it should ever be compared to Thriller. A more fair comparison would be to HIStory: Past, Present and Future or Invincible. Compared to 'Michael', 'Xscape' just shoots it out of the sky. There is no contest. 'Michael' made some mistakes. 'Xscape' appears to be evidence that the Jackson Estate and Sony are going through a steep learning curve. Great to see.
I hope the remaining two posthumous albums will be as cohesive and well produced as this one. For the moment, let's enjoy what is a job well done from Sony and the Jackson Estate.

Obviously this is now impossible, this is more a compilation and it can't be any other way. Now we've accepted that, I was thrilled to love most of the material on the album. The songs aren't perfect, again without MJ being there throughout the entire process, it can't be any other way. Such criticisms don't wash. My personal favourite is Place With No Name. I literally couldn't wipe the smile off my face, it felt like listening to MJ back in his groove. 1 or 2 songs aren't instant classics, but who cares, they may be to other people. A fitting tribute and honourable continuation of MJ's legacy.
