What I love about Pentatonix is that it takes a two dimensional piece of pop music, and infuses it with an unbelievable degree of soul. Every song is a collage of sound, and it really is amazing.

I will bet that Pentatonix and its talented members have just begun, but what a splash. This is one of the best things I've heard in my 50+ years, and I've heard a lot of music in that time, since popular music tends to spin out new styles and bands so quickly today. Their individual voices are all pitch perfect and emotional, and when they sing together it's synergetic and compelling. I wish that the lovely Kirstie had been given a little more space on the record, but she is crucial at every point with her seamless harmonies. Mitch's voice is indescribable, fluid and magic in the air. Scott's soulful wanderings across atonal and harmonic octaves is reminiscent of other white jazzmen of the past. Avi is of course brilliant on this record, merging his impeccable bass work in and out of several as well, and Kevin's bearbox has never worked better. MAN, is this stuff tight.

A few months ago I heard that PTX was real, and I was very confused. Why have an acapella group? That changed fast. Recently I went on Vine and saw one of their vines called Daft Punk, and that led me to a YouTube video. I watched that and cried for 10 straight minutes because it was the best arrangement I've ever heard. Remember that I didn't like acapella? Since that day last week, I've been so addicted to the group and I've done everything I've could to see them live but it all fails somehow...can't skip school! There are songs like "Happy" that do make a lot of people excited when they hear it, but this song was arranged perfectly, each tone matches, I'm speechless. One day PTX will invent a P90X for your voice...I'll get it fast.

This whole album is absolutely genius. But I have to say Run to You which was written by Kevin and Avi is STUNNING. I can't not get shivers every time I hear it. Also Mitch's voice is so so smooth and beautiful. Scott's voice is so amazing and soulful. And Kirstie's voice is so pretty and I love when she gets really pretty harmonies. #amazing

The song choices were great. A strong characteristic about the band is that they don't take too much away from the originality of the song, yet they find a way to make it their own and add their own touch. The vocals were amazing-especially Scott 😜😊
