If there was anything worthwhile about the fabricated east coast/west coast wars, Biggie and TuPac delivered two of the greatest albums in "Life After Death" and "All Eyez on Me". I am hardly a hip hop head. Those two albums were great in any genre. The day I heard both of these albums, their brilliance brought me to tears. The fact at two young black talented men were killed senselessly broke my heart. I took Kirk Burrowes, former General Mgr. of Bad Boy to see Diana Ross at Radio City. He was so blown away, the next thing he tells me that he turned Puffy on Diana's classics. Puffy began sampling Diana emphatically. Puffy sampled, of all things, one of her more classical adult contemporary #1s, "Theme from "Mahogany" ("Do You Know Where You're Going To?") on his first album. Then on "Life After Death", Biggie replicates her smash 4 week #1, "Missing You" on "Miss U". And then, of course, Diana's "I'm Coming Out" as the soundbed of the iconic "Mo Money, Mo Problems". Initially, Diana refused to accept credit on the single due to the "west coast/east coast wars". It effectively became her 21st #1 Hot 100 smash despite Mariah Carey incorrectly took credit because of 18/#1s. Diana's "Upside Down" was sampled on "Cold Rock the Party" co-produced by Puffy. Her trying ñ"Telephone" hit was also transformed into another hip hop hit. "Life After Death" is impressive in many ways due to widespread sampling like Rene and Angela for the descriptive "I Love the Dough". Another highlight is his impressive collaboration with Bones, Thugs & Harmony. And, of course, you cannot forget his anti-diss anthem "Goin' Back to Cali". Not as cinematic as "Ready to Die", but, "Life After Death" is a classic as saddens settles in to know that we will never get to experience all that his future promised.
i agree how they get rid of Ready to Die. that album is what made the Notorious B.I.G. the Notorious B.I.G.
This is a classic foreal!!! When it first release i was 10 years old and had the cassette tape.i know at that time I didn't understand something's he said, but it was the Notorious B.I.G and I was a fan at a young age, used to and still like the song I love the dough ,but if you never heard this it's a must have in anybody's music collection.
This album isn't as good as his first, not everybody needs to go mainstream. You know sometimes I wish Biggie had never been on bad boy at all, makes me wonder how ill he could've been without Ddidy and his mainstream-minded hip-pop.
Doooope
❤️
Hip hop at its purest
Biggie was and is still the best rapper ever. There is know one who can touch his laid back rocking style. We surely miss him. Peace Big Man!
Straight 🔥
You know him, he’s Big Poppa, and in my honest opinion I like this album even a little more than Ready To Die. Definitely deserves to be on every “top _____ hip hop albums of all time” lists
Ready to die was definitely a classic, but this album is more than a classic🔥🔥🔥
Kingpogasty
Don't get much better than this...
DIs is how u should RAP ayt?
This project gives me the chills, and positive thoughts as I go by. Never letting this album go. 📉📉📉
Life After Death was originally two discs. Here I only see the first disc. What's up with that?
Top to bottom, greatness Sky was the limit, and B.I.G. went above and beyond. “Now we buy homes in unfamiliar places/ Tito smiles every time he see our faces” “...they double parked by a hydrant” “Armed and dangerous...” “I remember we, went to Tennessee...” “Beef is when I see you, guaranteed to be an ICU...”
For everything you had and still have Biggie we love you "life after death" it don't matter we love ya come back and show the game what they missin'.... YOU!!!
HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU GET RID OF READY TO DIE YOU NEED TO PUT THAT ALBUM BACK UP NOW
Every song on this double CD is fire. Don't give this one star because you say iTunes isn't good, that has nothing to do with this album. Also this is a double cd if you glook there is 24 songs they just didn't separate the numbers. I am a huge Tupac fan but you can't take anything away from this album.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Second only to illmatic for east coast rap.
I listened to this everyday for a year on my drive to school after I graduate the whole cd is genius. When I had it two tapes.

The best all hip hop album
Most double albums have so many weak songs but this is so amazing for the quality of every track, my personal favourite song being notorious thugs. Biggie was possibly the greatest rap of all time
