Janae Nierah Wherry (born April 15, 1998), better known professionally as Sexyy Red, is an American rapper and singer. She garnered online attention in 2018, after reworking Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" on her track "Ah Thousand Jugs". In 2022, she collaborated with Summer Walker on the controversial music video "Sense Dat God Gave You". She rose to prominence with her breakthrough single "Pound Town" (with Tay Keith) in January 2023, which later spawned a remix with Nicki Minaj titled "Pound Town 2", and became her first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Afterwards, she release her second mixtape Hood Hottest Princess (2023), which included her highest-charting song, "SkeeYee". Sexyy Red has also appeared on official remixes of "Shake Sumn" by DaBaby, "Slut Me Out" by NLE Choppa, and "Peaches & Eggplants" by Young Nudy, alongside fellow rapper Latto.Billboard declared her as "one of the biggest breakout artists of summer 2023". She received a nomination for Best breakthrough hip-hop artist at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards.
