I'm only giving it three stars for loyalty. If this was done by an up and coming band, I would be into some of the songs. But the fact that it is completely different sound for these guys. No Pads No Helmets Just Balls is one of my favorite albums of all time, of any band. This is so different and isn't my thing. If they told us they were reinventing their sound I would feel different, but I just don't like this. Sorry.

Simple plan is known to be a tremendous band over the last decade, they showed what they had, what they can do, and now we come to this point. Sometimes music is gonna change, it's not the same as it used to be and let's face it. So far the album is complete crap. But boom is a great song to start, that song sounds like the real simple plan, but everything else is garbage but yes, don't blame it on them. They made better music than this, only the haters haven't heard it. Get a grip, sometimes music is gonna change, especially with new music producers and songwriting.

It's not the punk rock/pop punk that I remember in the early 2000's, but with the sound of other music being released these days, i'll accept it.

Every song could be a single! So catchy. So good.

The title actually seems fitting, while I don’t begrudge Simple Plan for being great in their heyday, this album is not a call back to the good old days. Rather, the band seems to be trying to hard to stay relevant and at the same time trying to remain in their bubble of early turn of the millennia. It’s not horrible if your just looking to add new music to your collection, but taking this album with any seriousness is a joke in itself. I see a lot of negative reviews on here that were written too early. This album is actually really good except for a few of the more pop influenced tracks. I personally really like opinion overload, I refuse, and Nostalgic. Good album in my opinion, give it a chance!

Maybe I'm a bit biased, I mean I have been a fan for about 15 years...literally over half of my life. I love this album! They give us songs like Boom! and Opinion Overload that have that class is SP sound. Then they have I Don't Wanna Go To Bed and Singing In the Rain that show how they can change their sound a bit but still be the same 5 guys I fell in love with 15 years ago. It was definitely worth the 5 year wait! #TeamSP

I've seen the guys get some crap for this new direction and honestly, I don't get it. These guys are in their mid thirties now and by that point in life, you very much realize life isn't all that bad and you lose that level of angst from your youth. These tunes are very much in the vein of Simple Plan, just grown up. You've got catchy hooks and choruses and relatable lyrics. But what else do you have that's always been in the Simple Plan style? It's FUN. Honestly speaking, I think it would be a terrible injustice for this band to just be cranking out No Pads time and time again instead of exercising the fact that Pierre and Chuck are fabulous song writers!

A very satisfying/feel good record that makes me feel the pop-punk vibe in such a nostalgic yet modern way. It's like 2002 & 2015 styles coming together in perfect harmony. "Opinion Overload" starts the record off with an instant 5-star hit, with equally awesome songs that follow until the end. Thanks Simple Plan for a great record & for keeping Pop-Punk so good in this era!

There was one song that wasn't great, get over it.

From the unbelievably catchy choruses, heartfelt lyrics, and great collaborations, Taking One For The Team proves to be one of, if not the best, Simple Plan album yet.

Give it a rest Simple Plan. So sick of hearing the same records/songs over and over but with a different title.

This just average blase. I like old simple plan a little more but thats not the issue. I Dont mind the new sound. The instremntal to bed is mad nice but the lyrics are cring worthy. "I dont wanna go to bad" sounds like a jingle song for kids like u hear in comercials. Boom sounds like an All time low ripoff. The songs okay but it just sounds like something I d hear on the radio casually nothing about it wows you. Average just average.

to everyone saying simple plan isn't "punk rock" anymore, you're delusional. simple plan was never punk rock. this album is worse then the rest of them, though. the lyrics are shallow and the songs lack originality.

From previewing the songs, this album is better then I expected and more like the band I remember but some songs are still poppy crap that I just can't get on board with. Again, some songs are good and some are just pop crap.

SP fan since 1999. Love these guys. Miss going to see their concerts. Although these songs are different I really like the "upbeat style" I heard in "Don't Want to be Sad". "Boom" gives me hope they plan on mixing in some "NP, NH...JBs" original SP style jams to appease the old school fans. Some may not like the newer sound SP is delivering with this album, but these guys are in mid 30's now. They've matured, and so has SP's music/lyrics. Personally I would rather them stay relevant and adapt with the new culture of music we hear today then stick with their old sound and fade into obscurity. Love these guys. I want to see them continue with their success regardless of how their sound evolves. Great concerts, interaction with the fans was stellar, overall just a good group of guys. They made growing up a little more fun...

So many of my favorite artists are either releasing a new album this year, recording a new album this year, or just released a new album this year. Oh, and Juliet Simms on a Simple Plan record?! Can't beat that! This year probably won't be a big concert year, but next year is going to be too many concerts to count, considering all of this year's albums. I. Cannot. Wait.

I will admit to some haters in the reviews that its not the same music as I had heard years back. I do miss it, but what really keeps me dedicated to Simple Plan is the messages behind many of the songs and the 'rebellious' and 'high energy' in many of the songs. I still say Simple Plan rocks!!

I have been a simple plan listener for a long time. Got me through some tough times in my life. Their mixture of pop and punk have given us some strong songs over the years, and this album has done the same… to a degree. Songs like "I don't want to go to bed" and "singing in the rain" are nothing to go crazy about, but songs like "opinion overload" "boom" "I refuse" and "PS I hate you" are strong songs with catchy lyrics and melodies that we will remember for a long time. Veteran simple plan listeners like myself may be unhappy with this new sound that the band has had since 2011, but the mixture of their classic sound with a more pop one is still music to my ears. I cannot say that I am in love with this album or this new sound, but it is still worth the buy. Good job boys. I will take one for the team!
