- Phase Two

Great album. Xtralovble is my favorite track on the album. Prince never fails to impress and inspire. It was worth the download.

- I love it!

This album contains a good variety of Prince's styles. I enjoyed Phase I (especially 1000 x's and o's, Hard Rock Lover and June) which is completely different in feel, but Phase II satisfies my taste for a more mature sound. Highlights for me here are Black Muse, Big City, and GROOVY POTENTIAL (BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL song) and Revelation.. but When She Comes and this version of Xtralovable are good too.

- Jdjtweet

#Look at me is my morning wake up jam to myself much needed confidence boost!!! #GroovyPotential #Revelation #Stare I love you Prince come tour in Dallas!!!!!!!

- HIT N RUN/Phase Two-Prince

Absolutely amazing! Real music for real folks. Signs of the times, good music never aged.

- A magnificent return to form

Someone please tell me what's not to love about this album. It has everything for the quintessential Prince fan - horns, funk, soul, romance, clever synchopation, blistering guitar work...simply sublime.

- Another stellar effort!

Thank you Prince!!!! Keep doing what you do!!!

- Phase Two

A great collection of songs. A bit jazzy, bit of rock, and some slow jams thrown in. What else do you want?

- Back to Doin' What He Does Best!

FINALLY, an album with FUNK again! Better than Phase One for sure. Good to hear the NPG Horns again. Stare, Xtralovable, and Black Muse are the kinda jams I’ve been waiting to hear for years! It’s also fun to hear Prince being naughty again (Screwdriver, When She Comes). Thanks for the early Christmas present from His Royal Badness!

- U don't have to use the skip button

Ten times better then phase 1, shouldn't have touch xtralovable that's a classic

- Great album

Favorite since 3121!

- Mostly mellow

Well, it's a little better than Phase One- but that's not saying much. It's nice to hear Prince abandoning Phase One's awkward electronic/pseudo-EDM sounds (courtesy of collaborator Joshua Welton), but in exchange, we get mellow, organic, jazzy pop Prince again. Obviously, both Phase 1 & Phase 2 aren't proper new albums. Most tracks are slightly re-worked versions of previous digital singles from the last few years. So as a collection of loose ends, this is pleasant enough. But I want a Prince album that's more than just pleasant. And why, oh why did he not include his most recent single, Free Urself??? That song is the best thing he's done in at least a decade.

- Prince's Falsetto

That alone is enough for five stars.

- Good album

Way better than Phase 1. Groovy Potential is a masterpiece!! I can tell these are older songs. I am waiting for new material.

- Legend...

This is a shining example of what makes Prince a F-ing LEGEND. There’s not a weak song on this (imo) I’m listening to ‘Revelation’ as I write this and am floored by how out cold this track is. There was a period in the 2000’s where I dipped as I wasn’t feeling what he was putting out, but THIS… LOVE IT. So many flavors without sounding cluttered and rushed. Phase Two has a very smooth feel to it. Worthy of royalty ;)

- Music at it’s finest…..wonderful

This album encompasses just who Prince is as a musician. Funk bass, fierce horns, and mellow grooves. And some of the finest slow jams ever. From beginning to end this is a great album. This record makes you feel music again.

- Where is 3EG?

I'm sure I'd like it because I relate a lot to Prince's sound but is he going to make another album with Third Eye Girl? I loved Plectrumelectrum

- REVELATION!!!

I love Prince and I love most of what he does. This album is a definite throwback to his classic sound but let me tell you, REVELATION, is worth buying the entire album! This song alone is worth $9.99! I had a REVELATION while listening to REVELATION...The SEXIEST, PRETTIEST, song I've heard in EVER!!!!

- Release the vault baby!

It's about time Prince. Some of these songs have been hanging around for years. It is great to finally see an official release. The only problem is that songs like "Extralovable" were best left alone. Prince has a habit of doing this with his older material. Still, it is far better than most of the crap he tried to put out with Phase one. This is the better volume. "Revelation" is the one to beat.

- Baltimore!

Love the song Baltimore. Put it on repeat. That guitar lick alone is healing.

- Great

Phase Two is a great album it's very mellow and laid back cold driving or cleaning music also some classic Prince sounds as well .

- Abandoned and hopeless

I've given up hope that Prince will ever put out music that recaptures the soul and funk that he used to express so uniquely! His evolution as a musician along with his spiritual awakening as a JW has left fans of his original sound abandoned almost as a sacrifice!!! His current sound is so canned and predictable it's seems over produced instead of inspired!!!

- Prince Fan Forever

I love this album! Black Muse is my ish!! I will be bumping this for awhile,..

- Finally

I've been waiting for a Prince album like this! 2Y2D and Big City are amazing songs. I hope he keeps this up (sorry Josh).

- Xmas Comes Early! Thanks Santa Prince!

When Prince just has fun relying on his best instrument: SINGING(!) w/ an undistorted vox and jamming w/o an agenda to prove anything to anyone*, he's at his best. "2Y. 2D." is a refreshing return to some of the most delightful gems he used to drop (before things got weird in the 90s). "Black Muse" and "Stare" remind me how good he is at fun head/rump shaking toe tapping melodies. The NPG HORNZ & Hornheads never miss a beat or an opportunity to mesmerize! Well done. *Prince knows how to serve up hooks, but clearly shows here that he has no interest in pandering to vapid pedestrian commercial pop themes; so his heartwarming quirkiness rears its head throughout this set.

- HITNRUN Phase 2

Two words - BUY IT!

- Superb album!

An everlasting body of work by a truly gift artist! Prince is THE BEST of our time!

- Prince is Back

This CD is awesome....every song is good. Thanks Prince, I've missed this kind of Prince songs.

- Revelation

If you don't like this album you're not a Prince fan.... It's as simple as that!

- Sounds like warm left overs

If he wanted to make a great record he certainly could, but his isn’t it. Slightly better than phase one but that still doesn’t hold up to his funky potential. The last four CDs or phases sounds like he is just filling contractual obligations. He has a great backlog he could pull from, or make a great pop/soul cd, he just chooses not to. Pity.

- Best album of the year...and next year cuz this year is almost over

Prince has outdone himself yet again. Phase 2 does not disappoint. It's a funky/fresh/thoughtful album that you can listen to from beginning to end without wanting to skip. No skipping! When was the last time you didn't want to skip a song? Been a while, huh? Buy the album, support the artist, and play loud!

- Revelation

Velvet seduction....hypnotic

- First Kobe, now this?

Wow. As a lifelong Prince fan, it pains me to write this, but I think I am finally done with listening to whatever new Prince has to say. I haven't liked an album he's put out in years (20Ten had a few good songs, Art Official Age and Pectrum Electrum had their highlights), but this is a new low. Phase Two is easily Prince's worst album ever, and I cannot for the life of me see how there are so many good reviews posted here, one even calling the sound brilliantly updated. This is simply retread after retread of all the same, dull, unoriginal R&B he has released on us the last decade or two. The original version of Extralovable from 1981 is a million times better than this reworked version (which has been out for like 4 years now), but that being said Xtralovable is still perhaps the best song on the album, if only because it retains that same early Prince sound in the melody and arrangement. Screwdriver is embarrassing and Rocknroll Loveaffair, which have both been out for over a year, is beneath him. I truly believe Prince in his heyday in the 80's and 90's would scoff at the music he has been putting out as having no heart. It is sad to see such a brilliant musician age this badly, but I think this is all we have left to witness. And Prince is compounding the problem by apparently not playing ball with Warner Bros. on his Purple Rain reissue so all that talk from last year on seeing reissues with bonus material seems like a pipedream. The thing about Prince is he rarely does completely what he says he is going to do, so I guess this was to be expected, but if you aren't going to give us compelling new music at least let us celebrate the classic music from his catalog in a new, fresh way. Albums like Sign O" The Times, 1999, Purple Rain, Dirty Mind and Parade (which can hopefully include some of the great Dream Factory/Crystal Ball material from that era) deserve to have the remastered treatment. And his fans deserve it too. This new stuff is helping to destroy that legacy because it just remphasizes how great he once was versus how sad his music has become.

- "Prince at his finest..."

Phase II pays it forward, with the smoothest R&B funk at the lover's lounge. Resembles "Lotus Flowr," "Rainbow Child," and "Planet Earth." ThankU.

- No Genre Boundaries!!

When it comes to music Prince is Cosmic. Check the body of work over the past 3yrs. Recognize. P. thanks again man, love the live instrumentation on the updates. Beautiful. Oh and thanks for dropping it on Itunes as well.

- Dope record

This album is part a great re-work of a collection of songs he's released over the past couple of years and some new treats put in there. I recommend this one...give it a listen.

- Genius At Work

After the disappointing Phase I that was Prince produced by someone who had no business messing with the sound of Prince comes Phase II! WOW! Now this is a Prince CD. A very organic and fluid CD with jam after jam. Prince bounces from pop to jazz to R&B seamlessly. Standouts include Black Muse, Stare, Groovy Potential, When She Comes and the brilliant Revelation which now ranks among his very best ballads ever! Prince’s Phase II now ranks the best album of 2015! Great job Prince!

- A fresh sound to my ears...

The most common characteristic of Prince's music is it will NEVER please everyone's ears. His music has so much breadth and depth that it sometimes takes a degree in musicology to fully comprehend and appreciate his artistry. To some he is "too funky", to some he is "too R&D". I prefer the smorgosbord of sounds coming from this purple guy. Baltimore: With proper airplay this would be a modern classic sound with the best of hits in 1987 including U've Got the Look, Sign of the Times and I Could Never Take the Place of your man. The classic guitar, lush orchestration and heart-felt words impacting our country. RocknRoll LoveAffair: To some this is the cousin of Take Me With You off the Purple Rain album. And no lie, the lead keyboard line appears to borrow from that track gracefully. But inspect the song a little deeper and appreciate the horn arrangements and the uplifting words around self discovery. 2 Young 2 Dare (2 Y. 2D.): Listen closely to this song; vintage word play by Prince. "She's old enough to do ya, but too young to dare". Funk explosion. Look at Me, Look at U: Mellow Jazz/Funk with a throwback to vintage 1970s vocal delivery. Love the call out to Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder. Stare: Just listen to the bass line. Enough said. Xtraloveable: An unreleased jewel from 1982 finally finds its way on a proper album after being released as a single in 2012. Classic Prince vibe. Groovy Potential: A Willy Wonka style pop number which dramatically changes at the very end to a funk n soul vamp. I love this...horns to the fore. How does one categorize this song? Just listen. When She Comes: Lights off, candles, french accordian and Al Green style vocals. Best song on album. Screwdriver: Meh, great song in its own right but should not have been on this albun...prefer Aint Gonna Miss You When Your Gone from 2012. Black Muse: Contains two distinct songs wrapped into one. Listen to the very end to hear another Prince beauty called "1000 Light Years Away" Revelation: Friend and I were in the studio when this song was recorded. Jazzy vibe but those lyrics, man are they amazing. Feels like an outtake from 1986's Parade album. Big City: "All right you poloroids" Imagine this song opening up a concert in New York City with 16 horns in the background. Prince delivered the perfect elixar to eliminate the taste related to the album in September, HitnRun volume I. That album had a couple of deep tunes but the production was a little too electronic for his fan base. HitnRun II is a welcome return.

- The king has returned

Prince is classic... Truly phenomenal..Waiting for his concert

- Fantastic

Beautiful, mature, and Funky... Phase 2 shows the world what great musicians (thank God for analogue) sound like. And Prince's voice fits perfectly with each song.

- Beautiful

I liked phase 1, but phase 2 is wow. So raw and beautiful. I hope we get a phase 3

- PRINCE

😍👍

- A mix of classic Prince and new Prince

I think this is the best album he's put out this century, all of these songs have that classic "Minneapolis Sound" to them.

- Awesome!!!!!

Prince is the man!!! What can I say, It just feels so good~~

- AMAZING

Got to check out Revelation and Look at me people!!! JUST DO IT

- Don't Count Prince Out Yet!

HITNRUN: PHASE TWO was, in every respect, a homecoming. Prince has reached back and dusted off his classic sound (although brilliantly updated) with an emphasis on grand melodies and a renewed reliance on guitar, bass, and drums. Tracks such as "Revelation," "Look at Me, Look at U," and "Stare" show us why it remains unwise to count him out.

- Disappointment

This album is way too preachy and overtly political. Musically, it has some nostalgia to his early sounds here and there, but it is bland and sadly unimpressive from such a musical genius as Prince.

- PURE PRINCE

This may just be the PERFECT Prince album. Not only does it have a BEAUTIFULLY warm sound, but it's also the most mature and loose record he's put out to date. I'm in awe - Bravo Prince, and thank you. :) T

- 4ever disappointed these days...

Another "album" of rehashed, forgettable tracks. I've loved Prince for years and years, but it's just been so long since he put out anything that was fresh and high quality from start to finish. The fact that this collection is considered an improvement over Phase One just goes to show you how pitiful that effort was. I used to think that he could jump back to the top of the charts at will but he just didn't want to. After so many sub-par efforts over the years, though, I now think that it's not a matter of will he but can he? I'm convinced there's no better musician and live performer alive today with a total body of work that's unparalleled. I just hate having to keep going back to the old stuff to remember how great he was.

- I HAVEN'T...

I haven't bought a Prince album since "LoveSexy" which ironically, was probably his last wothwhile album.

- Very cool Prince record!

This is a seriously well done album from a guy who set the bar of what great music is, truly. I love how he has used some old samples and made them work in Stare. Lyrics throughout tell a story all in 2015 can relate to, amazing
