- Awesome!

On top of Awesome!

- Raps his own truth, as always

Authentic at their core, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are artists who are activists for integrity -- something which always struggles to occupy societal main stage. Motives of fame, entertainment (aside from the occasional, healthy, innocuous dose of mainstream radio music, i.e. thrift shop, downtown, and we danced) or even just the general narcissistic attitude of many celebrity's fade into transparency at the hand of their lyrics; and ultimately, this is what their music, or their art, is. One either soaks up its beauty, or loathes its honesty -- that seems to be the division with Macklemore ever since he rose to fame.

- Incredible

Everything in this album is amazing. Just buy it and you will have no regrets

- Amazing

So innovative and different , songs like st. ides, light tunnels, white privilege, and the train are what make this album. Screw the Grammys and awards , you'll always be one of the best artists man.

- Best to worst!

Side note: This list was really hard. 1-10 were all really good so don't take this too seriously.

- Worst music I've ever heard

This is the worst music I've ever heard. Honestly what happened to the old Macklemore? It was way better. Seriously, how do people like this?

- Light Tunnels

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis... How can us fans thank you in the same way that your music moves us?? It's toxic, it makes the feeling inside of us change in indescribable ways. Thank you...

- Best Album 2016

straight up real talk and emotion in this album Macklemore is proving yet again his spot in the rap game is aiming for the top

- SEATTLE PRIDE

Love everything about this album🤘

- Really Good

Man they actually put out some decent stuff and now everybody hates it….

- Refreshing to hear

Does Macklemore voice his political opinions? Yes. But what is the point of having such a great platform to make a difference when you waste it whipping and work work working? This album touches on some very serious topics like drug abuse and racial equality( "Kevin" and "White Privilege"). It also gives comedic relief in "Brad Pitts Cousin" and "Dance Off". The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because his features over shine his parts. I also think the first 2/3s was a lot better than the last 1/3. Overall I really enjoy it though. I've listened to the full album 5 times.

- Amazing

Most rappers are sex, drugs, money but you..You speak truth in your Music especially white privileges that one hit me hard just listing to the song the best album ever heard probably.

- Beats vs lyrical content

I'd listen for the catchy beats, but in terms of message, it's shoddy. Feel like he's just talking about things to stay relevant with mainstream news. "White privilege" has a lot of that white guilt phenomenon all over it. It really would've been a stronger message to just entitle it 'pigs' and talk about the injustice of the justice system and police officers against civilians. Yeah, you look like some f the cops (cauc) and the only difference is they're a cop and you're not.. So, what about the Mexicans and the AA that also shot AA teens, but didn't make the news? Oh ok.

- Best album ever

I was upset that I couldn't bye Growing up but then I listened to all the songs and then I fell in love

- Amazing

Macklemore does it again. Whether it's in conjunction with another artist, or just himself, he's singing his heart out. It's amazing how he can go from a song that's just joking around, to singing about how America is over prescribed, it's a great song.

- This unruly mess I've made

I love it, you and Ryan are the best.

- Not bad!

I like this album! I feel like The Heist is better, but I still like what they did with this record. Love what he had to say in his deeper songs and the other songs were entertaining to listen to. Glad to see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis out with new music!

- So happy

So much to listen to, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis had some things to say!

- Agree to Disagree...

BLM...yes...but the message should be ALM meaning "ALL". Just seems bigoted otherwise. ALL LIVES MATTER. #stopthehate

- Must have!

Buy it! After a couple times through, you'll be hooked. Love it, great storyteller.

- Absolutely Amazing

INCREDIBLE album! It's nice to have hip-hop done by REAL musicians! :)

- Brilliant piece of work!!

Let me say, I was a Macklemore hater after the Heist and the Grammy controversy. I thought this group was pimping the culture and getting praise simply based on skin color. I listened to the heist, and liked it. I really listened to this album and I love it! I can't stop listening to it. From the track "kevin" in which Macklemore speaks on the destruction of addiction, to my favorite" White Privilege" in which the advantages and internal conflict of my white brothers and sisters are clearly laid out. I am a 51 year old black male, that grew up in the Bronx during the early age of hip hop, and went to jams in which Flash, Kool Herc, and the Coldcrush Brothers would rock the mic. This album has that level of truth, rawness and most of all, honesty! Keep doing what you are doing Macklemore!! These guys are the truth!!!

- No thank you

Not authentic enough

- Mack/Ben. read...

make music for you. like you've been doing. open your eyes. a start. language of my world. dope along with the unplanned mixtape. I love that. and it got better with Ryan. versus. the heist. wow. my favorite. stay true. don't do what everyone says ya have to do. be different. be yourself.

- The music

It's just amazing how much they love the music. It really shows on this album. The music and collaborations are great. Great independent music. ~Bradley...he's Cuzco~!!!

- Better than The Heist

The Heist was an all-time great album but I like Unholy Mess even more. St. Ides is awesome. This is a classic.

- Love ya, but be honest!

I don't believe for one moment, that you will make your 16 year old daughter take the bus when you are more than able to provide her with a safe and reliable ride, say a truck or suv? I can understand making her earn it somehow and/or not starting her off with something new, but let's be serious here.

- Great Album

Macklemore does it again!

- Goes DOWNTOWN!

Welcome Back Mack!

- Macklemore does it again

Here's the deal: Macklemore is real, unvarnished, vulnerable. He's a real man. Most of the reviews here are people that lack the intellectual and emotional sophistication to understand such an intelligent, creative, deeply human, real cat! He doesn't hide from insecurity. He embraces it. He doesn't hide from our selfishness, he exposes it. Love you dog! The big homie Bill W says keep doing your thang mane. Be peace, breathe Mack!

- MACKLEMORE MAKES YOU THINK!!!!

LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH! SO MANY PEOPLE DON'T EVEN LISTEN TO WHAT HE IS SAYING. SO MANY BAD REVIEWS. GROWING UP IS MY FAVORITE. LOVE IT MACKLEMORE.

- Really solid album

This is the first Macklemore album I've listen to, and it is pretty darn good. Recommended!

- This unruly mess

Can I say album of the year!!! This is better than last album, definitely. Just perfection. Period.

- This album is very Macklemore.

As a longtime fan, I can say this album bangs. It's not too much funny, just enough serious, and a great representation of his skill and purpose. He is a phenomenal rapper and couldn't be more underrated.

- Great album

Sooo good

- Sell out.

I don't support wiggers. You are part of the problem Macklemore.

- i hate you

awfulawfulawful

- New sounds/New favorite songs

This whole album is AMAZING all the songs have meaning and at the same time offer Macklemore's quirky rhythm! Very good album

- So Good

Why's does this not have more hits??

- Absolutely love this!

White Privilege II is an amazing song. So honest and confessional, I love it! Downtown channels the ridiculous fun of Thrift Shop. A++++

- Amazing

Downtown, buckshot, and all the songs are amazing! Buckshot being my favorite! Love this guy

- OKAY

The album is Okay. I buy your albums to hear Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, not all of the "featuring artists." What did you sign with Cash Money Records?

- Sooooo good

Must buy! Macklemore is fantastic & Ryan's beats don't slouch from the heist. If you loved the heist like me you will love this album😊

- LOVE...

I don't understand all the negativity and people saying all his music sounds the same. It's called style. He has a certain style is why it sounds similar and it's how you can distinct him as an artist. I think the album is great and love the collaborations, especially the one with Ed Sheeran.

- AMAZING

absolutely amazed. incredible lyrics and great tracks from ryan, you guys did perfect.

- Perfect

I've been listening to Macklemore since 2006 when he only had 6 songs. That was good music. It was witty, powerful and true... I'm glad he came back to that with this album. This is Mack at his roots, having fun while hitting you're heart. Good job.

- SHARK FACE GANG TIL DEATH

AMAZING ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! SHARK FACE GANG TIL DEATH

- 10/10 would buy again

This album is AMAZING

- Greatness

Pure greatness.
