Sadly the original will always triumph, but, the remakes soundtrack and the movie itself was on par with to original.
They need more work. Glee did a great job! But maybe Victoria should stay in victorious and her own music...
The songs sound great and the cast looks great. We can't judge something we haven't seen yet. Plus it's a musical... Musicals are supposed to be imagined by other directors with different casts. The 1975 version will still be here when this comes out. Please chill...
I can't wait to hear Dammit Janet! I absolutely love everything Ryan McCartan does, and I know he's going to be amazing!😊
This is HORRIBLE! The Time Warp is sung by a cast that already sounds bored out of their mind! Fox should've NEVER messed with the GREATEST cult classic film, of all time!
People need to learn to give new looks on classics a chance. I LOVE IT
Can't wait for entire album. Also the show. Love Adam and anything he's in. I think it'll be lots of fun.
Yes it does sound different from the original but they clearly state that it's not a REMAKE it's REIMAGINED. I was not a huge fan of Sweet Transvestite but I am totally in love and amazed with the rest of the songs and album.
If "Time Warp" was too close to the film track, it would be slammed as lazy and silly. Change it too much and it would be murdered for " ruining" the original (I've never figured out how that works since recollections aren't affected). This Time Warp manages to be just different enough, especially the intro, yet still includes some of the hooks from the old.
Very impressed with the amount of talent that came together to create this energetic remake. Mind you, this is not going to replace the original but I don't think that was ever the intention. Enjoy it for what it is, yet another interpretation (a good one this time around!) of a beloved classic.
I think the remake was pretty decent. The fact that people tore it apart well before it was even on TV just shows they are afraid of change. I think we forget how goofy the original one was. The moans in toucha always sounded fake, it was the point. The film was meant to be a campy and silly story. This musical brings that right back. Laverne Cox was amazing as well!
Adam Lambert belongs in every future musical.. The man exudes talent with a one in a million voice
Wondered who would replace Susan Sarandon as Janet; turned out to be one of my favorite young starlets---Victoria Justice. She has the perfect voice for this role, somewhere between sultry and playful, which seems to be her style. Victoria has wonderful comedic timing, impressive dramatic chops, and is a regal beauty at age 23. Susan Sarandon was 28 when she tackled this role, and look what a star she became. Victoria has a similarly bright future ahead of her.
People are going to hate this before they even see it. Get over it. Musicals are meant to be remade and reimagined. I love what I have seen and heard so far.
Should have never messed with the greats.
I was listening to this version of Time Warp, and my little sister walks in the room asking if i'm watching High School Musical. That alone shows how bad it is.
Nothing can compare to the original but I enjoy the new refreshed sound.
Stop destroying classics with kids who never grew up with the movie.
Toucha, Toucha has no emotion and is completely vapid. Even a guy in a coma can tell the moans at the end are fake and have no heart. There's just a complete lack of rawness to this that Fox is trying to GLEE up and...well...you know how THAT is. Only two stars because Tim Curry is in this.
It's mediocre. Nothing can compare to the original, but this is pretty decent. Some bits are slightly better, but most fall flat.
The cast is so talented. Time Warp is such a fun song and Touch Me sounds incredible. Victoria Justice rocks, go Vic!
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing this show on Fox from start to finish. I couldn't wait to see what was gonna happen next! The cast was great, and the production was seamless. The cast sounds AMAZING on all of the songs.
ILOVE the cast and the music is well done. Does the original justice however does not beat it.
There is only one reason this show and soundtrack were remade: $$$$$$, and songs like "Sweet Transvestitte" shows it.
Just Stop Destroying an Classic, this is terrible...
From the ONLY song they'll allow us to hear, it sounds terribly over-rehearsed and incredibly homogenized. Guess they must know how bad it is going to be just by the mere fact they're only releasing one song for us to review before it airs.
All of the cranky elders need to log off the internet and take a nap. These songs are amazing and the movie will be too. The cast have amazing voices and they're all super talented. Remakes happen and they'll continue to happen. The movie you love so much isn't even the original. The original is a stage play and the cast changes every time. Get over yourself.
Sounds like they are trying to apply Glee to Rocky Horror. Science Fiction/Double Feature is decent until the very end, but pass on the rest.
I really want to say I'm a fan of Rocky horror picture show the song touch touch touch me I love it I like more the new version
Yaaaaaasss Adam Lambert!!! Hot patootie is amazing🤘🏻🤘🏻! Very different but still extremely enjoyable and dancey & keeps the vibe of Meat Loaf! SO GOOODDDDD
This version will be so much better in my opinion
It's such a sadness that in this day and age this cult classic must be reduced to Top-40 level production and mainstream appeal. We've come so far, and yet...this "Rocky" is lacking so severely of basic talent. NOT even worth a second listen. BLAH
