Fans never necessarily asked for this album especially with the looming black album, but Weezer has made some catchy songs for an unstable time in rock history. Its too early to judge the full album especially considering that Weezer has always pushed out songs that weren't nearly the best on the album early.

The production on this album is going to sound amazing by the sounds of it

Now i did not want to write a review before the album came out but after 5 sloppy singles enough is enough. Weezer is a great band and they always deliver to their fans. But not this time. This is sounds like B-sides from the White album. However it s NOT summer anymore! This album makes no sense. i will not be having fun in the Cali sun doing shots this year. Everything Will Be Alright In The End is an apology for this album. The album art is the only thing good about this album.

Long time weezer fan. I’m all for bands changing up their style but this is no good. It’s not the worst thing I’ve heard but when I think of weezer this is not it. We need up beat and catchy songs that we can cruise to on the freeway

After their last two "comeback" albums, which were great, this one is a big stinker. Where are the guitars? There is no way long time Weezer fans (like me, from day one) are gonna be into this record.

From what I'm hearing they have completely changed their sound. For now it's one star, we'll have to see if the rest of the album is better.

Yes, it’s different from their previous albums but I really enjoy it. This band has been making music for so long that I would be surprised and disappointed if every single song sounded exactly the same as the last. Change and experimentation is the sign of a true artist. It’s so rare now to find an album that you can listen to from beginning to end. An album that isn’t just a patchwork of hit singles but a musical journey that you want to go on again and again. Give it a listen, keep an open mind, and make your own decision.

It’s not comparable to Pinkerton, but this album doesn’t feel as personal as other albums. I still bought it instead of pirating it, and I may listen to it a bunch more times but it’s not their best work, but not their worst. :)

Absolutely depressed with every song released early.. I hate all the reverb .. sounds like they recorded it in a church hall.. I know Rivers is an amazing songwriter, but he should've gone back to sounding like they're actually jamming out and not some computer generated sound.. I had high hopes and I'll still listen to it on a weezer mix but I'm sad I was so hopeful .

23 years is a long time for a band. Most bands have imploded or are phoning it in by now. Weezer continues to push boundaries and rethink their music. Creativity DEMANDS that you try new things and experiment (otherwise you end up as AC/DC). The pop overlaps and beach boy influences are freaking some people out, but ignore them, this collection of songs is one of the best that Rivers & Co have ever produced. The musicianship and song writing are outstanding. If you like great music buy this, if you want rock pablum stick with Bon Jovi.

I've listened to Weezer ever since they came out with their first album. They've had some great albums over the years and some have not really spoken to me. That's normal for a band that's been around as long as they have. So far, this album and these songs are amazing and it shows they continue to evolve and are STILL capable of writing catchy, love/rock tunes that capture the spirit of being young, in love, heart break, success, failure and everything in between. The hooks and chorus lines still move me, they are all about feeling. Weekend Woman, Mexican Fender, Feels like Summer and Happy Hour....just beautiful songs. I'm blown away. Let them evolve people!

Oh my god! What happened?

Can you imagine listening to Pinkerton and then this album back to back ? You would swear it's a different band. This is one of those "We sold out" albums. Their last great return to form was Everything Will be Alright. Great album. Pacific Daydream is like some Atlantic record big wig said, "Guy's, I need some really radio friendly stuff so why don't you try and sound more like Foster The People or something...". Except Foster is better.

Some good moments, but very few and far between- this is a poppy, overproduced mess.

Feels Like Summer sounds like something off Raditude, Mexican Fender sounds like a mixture of Hurley Maladroit & White Album. Beach Boys sounds like Jacked up as far as sounding, it is a catchy track. Weekend woman sounded like a B sides of the green album, and happy hour FRICKEN LOVE it was like a sadder version of island of the sun but I like them both. Hopefully the rest of the tracks sound something like White Album Pinkerton and Maladroit. Now with the whole album coming out some songs got me hooked like Get Right & Any Friend of Diane’s & Sweet Mary, but La Mancha Screwjob & QB Blitz wasn’t good. This album had potential but I give it 8/10

This album mixes up a lot of what they've done in the past with what is popular today. Way to stay relevant to new fans and true to your fans of yesterday!

When will Weezer be too old to stop singing about girls? Every song sounds like the opening song to a Nickelodeon show.

Weezer has quenched my thirst for real music once again and I am happy to say that this album is not what I expected! I love most the songs off this album and I knew before it came out I would love QB blitz and yes I was right the melodies and the beat has me dancing!!! I cannot wait for the tour announcements all my money is going towards that haha thank you weezer !!!

lets not forget, the lead single to the white album was "Thank God for Girls", which no one liked at first. Not to mention, "Mexican Fender" is pretty good. So hopefully it takes that route, and hopefully "Feels Like Summer" and "Beach Boys" are not representative of the record.

I absolutely loved the White album, and this is just a huge disappointment. I hope I don’t have to wait another 10 years for something like the White album to come around again. Shake this trendy crap and just jam guys.

For every Blue, Green, Red, and White album, there’s one of these. Even “Everything Will Be Alright In the End” brought us back to the Weezer we knew, but they’ve fallen into the trap again like they did with Raditude and Hurley. Sorry, guys, but I’m skipping this one.

My husband has been a Weezer fan for over a decade, and I never have—he doesn’t like this album, and I actually really do; this is the first time I’ve ever liked any of their music. There’s a 60s-soft-rock-at-the-beach vibe to this album, which is completely my style and why I like it.

This new album is good and I like it, but it’s not the weezer we all know and love. Yes, I understand times are changing and so is the music industry, but that doesn’t mean weezer has to. I’m a huge fan, and I could never criticize weezer, but I think weezer should stick to their old kind of music. Like I said before, this album is great, but when I think of weezer, I think of the hard rock feel of Pinkerton, EWBAITE, and maladroit. Not the poppy, warped feel of pacific daydream.

This album is better than their original 2 albums Blue and Pinkerton...they’ve gotten mature and authentic about themselves, their aged fans will get this ...it is an amazing album, album of the year! Get this album, old fans and new alike

It’s actually a really solid album. Weezer does the mellow pop sound very well. Favorite songs are: Weekend Woman, QB Blitz, Sweet Mary, and Any Friend of Diane’s.

Weezer seems to go in circles. Great, return to form rock. Then the next album is a little less heavy but just as Weezer. This is the third in the cycle as I see it. The most pop, the least guitars, but sill Weezer. I'd bet the next album will nice and rocky again.

Could still hear the “collision of happiness and sadness” like the past albums.

I would love this chill album if it were by anyone else, but alas it isn’t. I expect more from weezer being a diehard fan over blue pink, ewbaite, white and I hope that they will get get for black. It’s still alright just kind of empty. I respect weezer the same but i will not listen to this album as much as any other weezer album (maybe except raditude and Hurley)

How could you do this to us right after two of your best albums?

Don’t get me wrong, I love Weezer Tunes. But this should have been called “A Complete Nightmare”!!! Songs are dull and sound like all the other commercial groups. I guess writing creativity is in short supply. QB blitz sounds like I like Schlitz!!! Not a good album. Sorry!!!

Never go "full pop"..

Past two albums were great, this one isn’t anything special. Weekend Woman is pretty good, all the other singles, I don’t mind Feels like summer, acoustic version is the better one to listen to.

Not since Indiana Jones 4 have I felt more crapped on as a long time fan.

Only waiting a year after their last release (White Album); Weezer decides to take a different direction with this album. Definitely more on the pop side of things (If not the heaviest pop record to date). But, it comes with an arsenal of catchy hooks that will leave you singing them all day long. The opener Mexican Fender brings a more classic Weezer sound for those distortion only fans. While Beach Boys and La Mancha Screwjob bring more of the pop infused, hook addicting masterpieces. However, the two songs that take the spotlight are Sweet Mary which is a beautiful song the keeps the Weezer sound w/ beautiful lyrical writing. Also Any Friend of Diane is equally as good with a poppy chorus fitting to end the record with. Overall a solid record, But probably won't see this one in the Grammy's. I give it 4 star. 👏
