I personally don’t like the direction ghost took with this album, waiting to hear it was all a joke and they are going back to a real papa... my wife loves the album though. Have to clear up one thing though, dance macabre has a line that everyone hears as “Just wanna be which you by the moonlight” that’s what I thought to but it’s “just wanna BEWITCH you...”.

I think I love this album more than the last. Not the killer riffs like circe or square hammer but the solos are so much more melodic. Vocals are spot on. Lots of piano and keys. Great use of strings.. Miasma was absolutely killer love..I feel like I’m ripping these guys off for being able to buy the album for $7.99. Great work.

Absolute garbage. pop metal? i don't even know why the image is associated with the music, because the contrast is sadly not selling me or anyone on their shtick. saw them open for Iron Maiden last summer, and while they were "OK" live, i didn't leave feeling like they won me over. I'll listen to Power Trip instead...

It’s great, best album

This album is a very solid rocking theatric that demonstrates brilliance in song writing. The music flows with elements of typical Ghost sound along with medieval samplings, ‘80s undertones and even some Elton John keyboard takes. The lyrics are meaningful and again deal with the issues of organized religion. The album starts off rocking hard with “Rats” and “Faith”, the latter being a heavy mover that may be one of their best songs ever. Both instrumentals are solid. “Witch Image” is haunting. “Life Eternal” will be a regular closer to concerts that will replace their typical closer. This album may be on par with “Meliora”.

Best album I’ve ever heard

This is terrible. The vocals are the most atrocious thing ever put on a “metal” record. If Blue oyster cult tried to go metal and failed miserably. This is one of the most overrated bands in existence and only “fair weather” metalheads would ever lower themselves to considering this worthy of the title.

So I wasn't sure about Ghost. Seemed like a bunch of dressed up oddballs for no purpose. I gave Prequelle a try. Boy was I wrong! This music is amazing!! It is an album that I listen to in its entirety over and over again. It's true music. It's crafted, the arrangements are both hard charging and emotionally powerful, and it is music you an feel. This is one of the best albums I have ever purchased ever. Impressive!

If you're expecting another Opus Eponymous, then you won't like this album. Now that that's out of the way, if you like good music with lots of melodic sounds and a hard charging attitude, then this album is for you. Prequelle is unlike anything else Ghost has ever done, and that's a good thing. They're constantly testing the limits of their sound, and this album excels.

Faith, Rats, Macabre are all great. I love the instrumental track Miasma; early 80s style prog rock with a sax riff at the end. Good melodic hard rock with a dark edge.

I’ve been obsessed with Ghost since Cirice. While this album is different than the typical Ghost sound, I can’t stop listening!! First time I heard it, it was ok. 2nd time it was pretty awesome, 3rd time was freaking phenomenal. Ghost man

Not all bad, but took a wrong turn at the fork in the road. Danse Macabre: "I wanna be WIT-CH-YU in the moon light" says it all. Dear Jesus mother-blipping Christmas fire Lucifer testicle burn, DO NOT say WITCHYU like some auto-tune abusin' tinder-flippin' hip-hop-pop ghetto wigger trash. You're still cewl if you say WITH_[space]_YOU. Being Swedish is no excuse.

Every single song on this album is perfect in its own way, one of the best album ive heard in years.

Forget what you think about Ghost. Get yourself a good set of headphones and give this a listen. Just listen to the song craft and attention to detail in these songs. The hooks are infectious and the songs just flow. I was previously on the fence about them. This album is bordering on beautiful!

My favorites Rats, Faith and Pro Memoria ❤️❤️❤️❤️ and I love the instrumentals. Also I’m starting to love Cardinal Copia ❤️

Awesome

I just listened to the full album. It is really great. For somepeople it may be a slow burner. However the thing I really like about the music by Ghost is that you can listen to it again and again. Most metal gets boring after a few listens. I really want to see them in concert. I listen to many different types of music including black metal and death metal, among other genre. Ghost is not really what I would consider heavey metal. However, it is awesome and it is epic and it exceeds 90% of the other band currently putting out new music. Also, it is actually music, lyrical, and fun to listen to.

I love Ghost, but this album more than any others sounds like a Tobias Forge solo album. Just too many ballads. Tobias is extremely talented and can wear many hats with different bands, but he's now wearing all of those hats under the Ghost name and this album just feels a little less Ghostly than the others.

It just not as good as the other ghost albums but it’s still a awesome album I got it on vinyl the art work is 5/5 for me.

Only because this album doesn’t have the 2 bonus tracks It’s a Sin and Avalanche

While the whole album contains great riffs that Ghost has worked hard to become known for, “Dance Macabre” may be one of the catchiest songs in modern rock. “Miasma” is a fantastic instrumental—bringing back the saxophone to rock n roll! For newer fans of Ghost, welcome to the ritual.

I really enjoyed this album. I still think thier first is their best but this one is tied for second place along with thier second album for me.

This band is overrated. The singer has no range whatsoever. Every song sounds the same. Like clearly this band is trying to sound like Black Sabbath and queen(not succeeding of course) Rats is the only song on this album that’s decent.

I am very pleasantly surprised that I like every song on this album. That never happens for me. I love the evolution in the band's sound and hope that they keep with this great trend. I've not had the album a month and can't wait to see where Ghost goes from here.

I love this album so much. Sure it has a different sound, but the songs are just so beautiful. Tobias really knows how to write beautifully crafted music.

Really good music, great lyrics with dozens of meanings, and theatrical as hell. It shows the best of a lotta things- metal, rock, and theatre.

This is so dynamic it should win record of the year

"Infestissumam" brought me in, "Meliora" gave me hope and now "Prequelle" has hooked me for good. I'm not sure about the "Metal" label, however, this is solid rock. Double-entendre lyrics left and right, a pop flair with serious undertones. Smart writing, skillful musicianship and bold production deliver a coherently sound effort. This album is best when listened to in it's entirerty. Rock is Saved! Thank you Ghost.

One of the best albums

Might as well be Brittany Spears singing this music. Boring and basic. I liked some of their older stuff but this is just poppy garbage.
