This is one of Daughtry best albums. I don’t understand why many people are saying it too pop. I just listen to music and if I like the music it does not matter what type music it is classified to be. He can’t make the same music every album. This is a album I can just turn on and enjoy every song. Great job Chris!!

Why change a proven guitar based sound for percussion and bass. If I want to listen to that type of music I’ll listen to Imagine Dragons. A couple of good ballads but no rock to be found here. It was good while it lasted.. Disappointing.

I have been a Daughtry fan since the beginning. I have all the records but their is not one song on this record Cage to Rattle that is good. Where is that big explosive Daughtry sound I am use too? Very disappointed fan.

This album has to be the worst by far. I like the previous 2 albums better than Cage to Rattle. Given that 3 out of the 13 songs I actually bought. Not impressed at all. Hopefully the next album will be better and go back to their old music of actual rock music.

I've been following Chris Daughtry since his time on Idol. I've bought each and every album, and I never went into it trying to guess what the band was or wasn't going to do with each album. I just kept an open mind. I like their music, and I like the way their music has unfolded through the years. For me, Chris' voice is what drives the band. His voice is amazing; he can do almost anything (genre) and make it sound really good. This album is catchy in so many ways. I would try to list a favorite song, but I have been listening from track one to ten on repeat the last several days! I'm ready to see and to hear these guys belt out these tracks live! Got tickes for me and my kids to two different shows this fall! Keep up the good work fellas!!!

Daughtry used to be great. The first 3 albums were o nfire. Solid rock with great lyrics and melodies. The last 2 albums are pop rock junk. A bad version of Maroon 5. HORRIBLE

Was only disappointed that there wasn’t a deluxe edition so i could hear more of his great sound.

Daughtry fans, regardless of age, we all love the debut, LTT and BTS, we all were iffy about Baptized. you listen to CTR and it is a more mature, positive, experienced version of the older albums. Just found Heaven, Backbone, Gravity, Stuff of Legends and especially white flag are MORE rock than some of the original Daughtry songs. ive followed them on tour since around 2009 and this is some of their best all-around work since the debut. it is rock, not pop. there are drums and guitars throughout. it is so well put together. stop asking for the debut album again, stop asking for leave this town again. weve already heard them. appreciate this new, great sound of Daughtry. P.S. it sounds even better live, so go see it!

Was he (they) really ever here? An 'act' is a more apt description than musicians since he/they were created by a $$$t tv show. The problem isn't really Daughtry's fault. It's the Reality TV Culture that has created a giant vat of nothingness that Record Companies and Broadcasting Companies created to replace lost incomes from real artists as internet theives stole the real artist's work . This created the perfect storm to create a culture for Kardashian loving mindless imbeciles as a dumbed down society bought into their Corporate Crapola..... The real creativity isn't with the "act" , it belongs to the Corporations who duped a generation ...Don't worry though! If you are one who does love this stuff, it happens to every generation. It's just now it's much more visible because of the internet and social media,where alternative facts and reality have somehow managed to elect a complete moron....... Get ready listener's it's going to get a lot worse than this pile of corporate puke before/if it ever gets better.....As Jim Morrison shouted "WAKE UP"

This s one is a bit more mellow and easy. Not heavy like the previous cd’s. It seems the lyrical content is more thought provoked than past. This is my favorite cd so far as the first one was really good and then the next ones that followed where a bit generic. Lov death of me and bad habit which seems to have some laid back keyboarding and sounds great..to me. Great job. Chris daughtry.

Still makes me happy to have new music from Daughtry!! The lyrics and sound is Soul infused....and reaches out and moves me either tugging on my heart (Deep End and As You Are) or I can’t stand still (Back in Time, White Flag) There is something a little different in his voice - lower notes get me paying attention more and when he belts those high notes, WOW!! I ❤️ the sound of this album...all of it!!

When you say you're writing a rock record, I expect a rock record. THIS AIN'T IT.

Wow blown away! Cage to Rattle is some of the best work yet!! Chris’s powerful voice keeps getting better! The bands chemistry is on spot! The album is full of empowerment and soundtrack to my life! Thank you for continuing to make music that touches my soul ❤️

Gee, Imagine Dragons are selling alot of records... let me do the same thing! This is awful - is there a rock song on this record? Guitars? His last few records have been just flat out bad, and I guarantee he'll have zero hits on this one

Killer record

There first album was good, but it feels like they're getting worse each go. They have the sound of a hard rock/grunge group but haven't seemed to explore it to much. Just pretty disappointed.

Daughtry is Back!!! Not that they were ever gone but these songs are the sounds from their earlier days which is what I love.

Really only 2-3 songs for me on this latest release. Deep End is the best song on the album, really great!

5 years of waiting is over and this album meets and exceeds ALL of my expectations! A little bit of something for everyone. Fantastic!!

Ok, I'm a rocker and I really loved Daughtry's first album. It rocked as did Break the Spell. Baptized was a let down and even though there is a lot of programming on Cage to Rattle, I love this album. Just Like Heaven is amazing. Catchy chorus. Then Deep End is probably the best song on the album. As You Are is my favorite song. It reminds me of my girlfriend so it does have special meaning. The rocker in me loves White Flag. Stuff of Legend has really good guitar work. Backbone and Death of Me are really catchy. I'd love for Daughtry to do a really hard album but if this is what they keep turning out, I'll still be HAPPY!!!

I should have known after Baptized that Rocker Daughtry was gone, but I bought the lie that this would be a rock album (glad I just previewed on spotify instead of spendin any money). With the exception of the last two tracks "Stuff of Legends" and "White Flag" the passion seems lacking. Who is this for? Pop music has moved on (this won't bring pop rock back either) and this is for the most part lacking the guitars to be rock. Follow the examples of similar acts like Halestorm, Shinedown, and even Nickelback who doubled down on heavier rock on new albums after their previous albums were more poppish. This band has potential for the rock that fits Chris voice (just listen to "Drown in You") but it is all wasted here

Been on repeat since yesterday! Daughtry is back, baby!!! I’m loving it!

I loved Daughty's sound and music since his first album. However, beginning with "Baptised", it no longer sounds like the Daughtry I love to listen to but more pop. This album, though recorded "with his original band" still has the trappings of pop music. I really long for the days of Daughtry the ROCKER! I don't really believe any of these songs come even close to his first 3 albums. bummer. I'd really like to again hear the Daughtry that rocked the world.

Really liking the new music. True to his sound and with meaningful lyrics rather than some of the rank garbage from some rock bands. I prefer a musical approach rather than loud electric just to make noise so I like Daughtry and band. Actually downloaded entire album rather than just a few tracks which is what I tend to do with other groups.

This is the third review I have written about this mainly cause at first I didn’t know if I hated or liked it. I’ve decided I love it, it might not be the exact Daughtry I fell in love with with his original three, but 8 of these songs if not all of them have extreme potential to hit it big. They’re different but they’re still the songs that Daughtry sings that have so much meaning behind the words. A true singer. I would however enjoy the rock to come back!

Daughtry rocks out in this new album!

We waited 5 years for 10 songs, that's forgivable. However Chris flat out lied and false advertised this album. He promised it will be more like the first 3 albums and have more guitars and a rock sound. This electro blues stuff sounds like Maroon 5 and Imagine Dragons had a baby. Chris if you were going to sell out why'd you have to lie about it?

This isn’t Daughtry. Electric guitars are gone. Rock sound is gone. It’s all this new age pop sound. Disappointed. Was really hoping the last album was just a setback but they’ve continued on in that direction. Sad to lose such a great band.
