New Horizons by The Moody Blues Song Info
"New Horizons" is a 1972 song by the progressive rock band, The Moody Blues. Written by the bands lead guitarist Justin Hayward, it was included on their 1972 album Seventh Sojourn. Justin Hayward wrote "New Horizons" both for his late father, and in anticipation of the birth of his daughter, Doremi. It has a similar theme to "Emily's Song," which John Lodge wrote for his newborn daughter on their previous album. Bruce Springsteen later borrowed the melody from the bridge of this song for the bridge in his 1987 song Tunnel of Love.
