Granted, this album still has issues. As grand and operatic as it wants to be, it does feel redundant and overly padded at times. Yet with those issues just adds to the appeal of this truly odd, ambitious, and incredibly idiosyncratic record. Almost Kubrick-esque with its lavish production value yet still feels like a rap album. I remember listening to it the first time having no idea what to make of it. Years later, I still claim that there’s literally no other rap album like it.

I've seen so many people calling this a classic and the best hip hop album of all time, or the album that got them into hip hop, or even 'the only hip hop album they'd rate higher than a 7/10.' And you know what all these people have in common? They all know nothing about hip hop, or about good hip hop. This is basically hip hop music for people who don't really like hip hop. Just look at the features, rick ross and nicki minaj, that's all you need to know this is a joke. Listen to some actual good hip hop or just good music ingeneral.
