"Our Song" is a song by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, taken from her self-titled debut studio album. Swift wrote the song for a high school talent show during ninth grade; the lyrics are about a young couple using the regular events in their lives to create their own song. I was sitting there thinking, 'I've gotta write an upbeat song that's gonna relate to everyone.' And at that time, I was dating a guy and we didn't have a song. So I wrote us one, and I played it at the show. Months later, people would come up to me and say, 'I loved that song that you played.' And then they'd start singing lines of it back to me. They'd only heard it once, so I thought, 'There must be something here!'" In an interview with Blender magazine, Swift said that this song was written about the same guy as in "Tim McGraw." She said that his name is Drew, and one night in 2008 when she was going out, he was in her driveway. She said, "It would have been really poetic and romantic if he showed up right after my album released, but it's been two years. I told him, 'It's really nice to see you. But you're too late.'"
