I needed to be transported and transported i was. This is everything i wanted and then some! Emily Blunt is perfect in every way in the role and Lin Manuel Miranda is brilliant. Cant wait to see the movie!!!!
Unlike other Disney films geared towards children in recent decades that had at least some songs that you could remember or at least a memorable title track this is a bunch generic songs that one foregt as soon as you were done listiening to them. Not to mention that the original was no great work in itself as I was nine years old when my parents dragged me to the theatre to see and was dreadfully bored and was geared to the aestetic sensibilities of Depression era parents whoe were cinematicaly weaned on musicals during the 1930's through 1950's. One thing that makes a childrens movie profitable is having enough appeal and humor to make the adults willing to sit though it which Disney films such as Alladin and The Lion King did masterfully and I do not see a bunch of Genration X and Millennial parents subjecting themselves eagarly to a bunch of boring 1940's stlye musical numbers.
Hey Emily Blunt has a Mary Poppins way about her and she is more a convincing singer than Lindsay Lohan 😂!
Can’t wait for the movie!!!!
I haven’t seen it but I know my sister loves the old 1964 version
An absolute delight. The songs, as in the first film, echo a Music Hall tradition and hit a bullseye with vocal (and orchestral) performances that are exceptional. Blunt and Miranda exceeded my expectations and Streep has a show-stopper of a tongue twister that cracks me up. Angela Lansbury, sounding just as lovely at 90-somehting as she did decades ago, gets a sort of "Let's Go Fly A Kite' surrogate that delivers beautifully. After listening only twice, I am humming songs and can't praise this enough! What a lovely and welcomed surprise.
Lin Manuel Miranda and Emily Blunt equals complete perfection!!
So much fun and a great reminder that when you’re feeling low “There’s Nowhere to Go but Up!”
trip a little light fantastic is great, I love it!
A followup to a classic musical....impossible? But not for Marc Shaiman and company. Never thought it could be done, but here it is! These songs could have been included in the original, they're so good. You must purchase this NOW, and on December 19th head to see it in theatres. Truly awesome :)
I absolutely love this soundtrack! Can’t wait to go see the movie in a few weeks!
A great soundtrack on its own, but it shines with the homages to the original film! I can’t wait to see it in theaters!
So good completely recommend
I absolutely love this soundtrack. Obviously, I love everything related to Mary Poppins, but this is just as amazing as any other recording.
Mary is back. And she’s exactly what we needed.
Gorgeous!! Marc Shaiman has been one of my greatest musical heroes for many years, and getting to hear him REALLY score & compose in this style is as wonderful as the film... five stars!
I was inspired to see a Puertorriqueño playing a role set in London, specially in a film like Mary Poppins. The original is such a beautiful story (Feed the Birds is my all-time favorite Disney song), I just had to produce something of my own. I was fortunate enough to associate produce a documentary which was released in BFI Network back in Oct. Thank you for making dreams possible and for giving hope para Puerto Rico. Lin Manuel has inspired so many Boricuas like me, it is truly a blessing. Incredible soundtrack. The amazing, Emily Blunt was born to be Poppins! Disney brought many great childhood memories.
