“Reborn to Rebel” clearly exhibits Ski’s perspective on authority. The track has obvious punk roots, seen especially in the apathetic chorus and anti-government themes; Ski and other South Florida “soundcloud” rappers have been noted for their use of punk/hardcore styles before, such as in his and X’s famous collaboration “Take A Step Back”. Ski has expressed his disdain for the U.S President before, most prominently on his 2016 track “DONALDTRUMPHASNOTAPE”, which samples “Left Behind” by Slipnot, a group also known for it’s aggressive and explosive style: "Fuck Donald Trump, fuck Donald Trump / Need to fight his barber cause his hair like what the fuck" “Reborn to Rebel” was originally teased on his Instagram Live, and given the working title of “Hello”. Lau worked with Ski twice previously on STOKELEY, and this marks both Hernandez' and Madison’s first collaboration with the Slump God.
