I think this is charli’s best work to date. I think she has moved even further towards the futuristic sound that she initiated with pop 2 but now includes more personal emotion and story in a lot of the songs. I think she has finally created her little niche with this album and the sound that she wants to put out.

1999 did a great job of blending her new auto tuned/edm/pop sound. But the rest of this album is PURE AUTOTUNE, and not enjoyable to listen to.

Pretty much every single song on this record is spectacular. She shines when she mixes familiar pop melodies/themes and completely deconstructs them, twisting them past their limits and creating something wonderfully chaotic, strange and beautiful. She is truly on another level.

Coming off of one of the best pop records to date, Pop 2, this self titled album hits a little flat. It doesn’t feel very cohesive. Pop 2 and Number 1 Angel we’re both tracked perfectly and told a story. I’m also a huge fan and was pretty let down when I heard the full “my best album yet it’s amazing”etc. I wish she didn’t hype it like that because it’s probably my least favorite body of work she’s made. That being said...there are still straight bops on here and I do like it! Was just hoping for/expecting something different
