arguably one of the best disney villain songs is be prepared. the “song” (if you can even call it that because it’s just 2 minutes of talking to the beat) is just awful in this movie. the others weren’t nearly as bad but were too poppy and modern and lost the original feel. it wasn’t horrible overall but definitely didn’t live up to the hype

We have a whole ballad of thatx Then daddy gets crushed by some stampede and then he cries. What did you think about when you sang about can’t wait to be king. Kings die in order for princes to be king. Disney is garbage.

From the reviews I was expecting it to be a lot worse but it’s not that bad. Although for me it doesn’t capture the flair the original had. Listening to the original even 10+ years later gives me goosebumps, but this not so much. The song that did was Circle of Life. Was kind of digging I Can’t Wait to be King (which is my favorite song) but for some reason lost interest and was done with it. I’ll just stick to the original.

I was actually in a performance of the lion king with tons of younger kids and that was better than this. There is defiantly something missing in this soundtrack and it is just not right. The broadway version of “The lion King” and “The lion king jr.” on broadway are still better, but it wasn’t the absolute worst thing I’ve ever heard at least they didn’t change it completely, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you want to hear incredible music from the lion king.

I love the soundtrack and music in this film in my opinion the music and soundtrack but mainly the soundtrack in this film is way better than the film except for be prepared, Scar’s song.If I could I would if it weren't for the terrible be prepeared song I would rate this 5.5

I was very much looking forward to this album, but I felt like it didn’t fulfill what I had expected. Not to say the album is horrible, you can tell people worked hard on this album, and it is very good. I just wasn’t blown away by it. The original soundtrack will always be my favorite, and it’s gonna be hard to top something that was already pretty amazing. Hans Zimmer’s work on this was amazing again and even though I’m not a big fan of Beyoncé, she’s pretty good on this album.

Beyoncé was phenomenal. As you can tell, the critique of her contributions from the haters are aggressive and personal. They just hate her because they have personal insecurities to sort out and I bet they didn’t even hear the album. She sounded great along with everyone else.

I understand people’s personal opinions about these new Disney remakes, I really do, but personally I find that if you have an opinion that will offend other‘s I wish you should keep it to themselves. It’s okay to dislike something and rate it low. It isn’t okay to write really negative things about people’s hard work just because you have a negative opinion. I read through the comments before I listened to it and had really low expectations, expecting the literal worst because of all the negativity. But it truly blew me away. Donald Glover has such a phenomenal voice, and I have nothing against Beyoncé’s piece in Can You Feel The Love Tonight. I love how Disney has made these new movies for the kids who weren’t around when they first came out. Really excited to see the movie. Really recommend it to true Disney fans.

Beyoncé’s voice is glorious in the duet! Her tone and phrasing is glorious! Brings me to tears to think of how far she has come in her career. Excellent casting! The “Spirit” song is amazing as well with glorious vocals and great homage to African music, and a great message. The music video for “Spirit” needs an award for its beauty and authenticity to Africa. Sublime!

Lion King is my favorite Disney movie from when I was kid. I'm pretty sure I ruined the VHS with the amount of times I replayed that movie. The soundtrack is very near and dear to my heart. Beyonce, as talented as she is, was the absolute worst casting decision for this movie. Her voice as Nala seemed way too elegant, and finessed compared to the innocence and playfulness of the animated Nala. As a singer for the movie, her singing was WAY over the top almost indulgent. Can you Feel the Love Tonight is supposed to be romantic in a cute way but her version did not give me any feels. Instead, I found myself rolling my eyes when she started the riffs and runs during the song. It's a song meant for two long lost friends who realized they love each other not some epic ballad for the hardships of the world. Don't get me started on Spirit and how unnecessary it was in the film. Wrong choice. If they make the second one, I hope they recast.
