This album is way better than the singles made it out to be

When I first heard “blame it on your youth” I had very low expectations, but when I heard the songs like “Darkside” and “I really wish I hated you” or even “the first time” it really got me rocking. While there are some songs that aren’t the best, there are songs that do make up for it. I do have to stress that this isn’t Punk rock or even really Pop punk, it’s alternative rock (mainly because of all the auto tuning), but that’s ok! It doesn’t make it a bad album at all by any means, just if you want a punk album, stick to the old stuff, if you like alternative then this is the right album for you.

I don’t hate the album. It feels like alkaline trio mixed with simple creatures and added a dash of +44, a few tracks have a flair of boxcar racer meets angels and airwaves. However even though I love all those bands separately I do not think it combines entirely well, and as a result it makes a very EMO-POP Blink instead of a PUNK-POP Blink-182.

I really enjoy the second half of this album! So glad they are still making new music!

I love the diversity of songs on this album it’s really cool and great!!! This was quite a nice suprise to listen to!! Breath of fresh air!!

Blink manages to do it again. Using the same old formula to create catchy songs but continuing the spirit experimentation and free expression making these songs as they had done in the untitled album.

Love it as much as California.

Honestly I didn’t expect this album to be this good, but it is. I downloaded almost every song on my iPhone, it means it’s good. I still love AVA more, but Blink did a good job, strong 4 out of 5. Waiting for new AVA album and it has to be even better, we’ll see

I've been a Blink 182 fan since I was 4 (I'm 20 now) and I think this is a great release. Honestly, the other crowd giving bad reviews needs to give them a chance. I didn't like the new turn in their new music on California, but it grew on me. I love Blink 182 and I think I always will.

There are a few really cool moments on the album; I did enjoy California more. Feel like Mark’s voice is getting worse and worse; shows more on the majority of tracks on this record. It’s like he’s “speak-singing” I’ll wait a year or so to check out the 12-15 other tracks when the Deluxe edition is released, before I buy anything. I enjoy Matt being part of the group; and of course Travis- who at this point in time (especially with the release of California), plays a significant part in the band’s level of success and relevance in today’s music scene.

I’ve always been a fan of Blink 182. Love the new stuff.

I like this new blink. Neighborhoods was terrible imo. I like this new wave of Blink. It was very much needed.

Blink182!!!Keep ROCKIN 4Ever

A lot of people are going to try and pin this on Tom not being in the band, or people not “evolving” with Blink’s new sound, but it’s just not that simple. This album isn’t the worst music I’ve ever heard obviously, nor anyone here leaving a review, but here’s where I explain the title of this review. Every single song on this album has a generic almost predetermined singing melody, even before the singing started on some of them I could guess what type of melody they were going to go with. predictable and generic reminiscent of modern day garbage on the radio. Recycled nonsense that people love for a few weeks then becomes obsolete. Those were never characteristics of blink 182 on any previous albums. If you were cautious about which direction the band was taking after the last album, you were right to be. The over produced auto tune combined with the trash pop melodies of the modern era, just make for the worst combination and direction you would want to see an iconic band take. The lyrics are not as bad as California, but nothing really special or meaningful. Everything else makes it irredeemable. I really wish they would change their band name so I can say at least they are being honest about being nothing, absolutely nothing like the band who they share their name with. It also seems like a waste of Travis Barker’s considerable talent. And the song “Generational divide”, the lyrics “are we better now?”, my response is yes in that song you are. Otherwise no. And it’s doesn’t take a generational divide to spot generic lyrics and melodies, mixed with overproduced and auto tuned singing to know bad music when you hear it.

A Blink-182 record for grownups.....

This is an album that I’ve surprisingly really enjoyed front to back. Wasn’t a fan of Matt Skiba at first but he has grown on me. I like it.

Amazing album! Blink 182 was my first musical obsession followed by Alkaline Trio. It’s awesome that Matt made such a fantastic album with these guys. It was different, fresh, and definitely a step up.

Blink is brining it on this album. Love the new sound but still staying true to their punk roots. Black Rain and Hungover You just rock!

y’all just say you like this album cos you’re afraid you’ll be a “fake fan” if you let yourself critique any of Blink’s releases

After hearing the singles (aside from Happy Days) I was worried, but Blink came in clutch. Can’t stop listening!

I acknowledge the fact that their untitled album is their “best”, but this one, from a lyrical standpoint, might just be my personal favorite album from blink!

Remember to forget me, Heaven, and First time are my highlights of the album.. Blink 182 is one of my favorite groups of all-time... Nice job gents..

On the bright side, neighborhoods sounded a lot better after listening to this.

I do have to say Blink is not the same without Tom....BUT, this album sure is a GOOD ONE!! I Really Wish I Hated You and Hungover You have are some really solid and catchy songs. Really loving the new music, especially from a long term Blink fan. Keep it up while Tom keeps on chasing Aliens....

Then I get mostly Mark. He does need Tom, and Matt needs to make great music again! Last Alkaline trio album wasaayyy better but prob bc it has Dan, not Mark (15 going on 50) 3 stars only bc Matt Skiba is involved! Please come back to Alkaline trio or even do a solo! He is finally getting the recognition he’s deserved since 1996, but the fact I have to sit through Marks tired lyrics makes this a waste. Blink fans don’t appreciate Matt so when ur ready, “we'll be down here waiting for you Down in the flames with open arms, it's true” Gasoline- TheHell

It’s a different sounds than early blink, but I still get goosebumps when I listen to blink. Killed it dudes, I’ll see y’all on tour next year🤙🏻

I grew up with Blink 182 in the 90’s and 2000’s. I thought they were a little old at times to sing about their material, but back then I really didn’t care. I thought it was fun and they were still young enough to get away with it. Fast forward to today, each of the members are in their 40’s some even in late 40’s and still singing about the same things they were 20-25 years ago. It’s just weird. No 40 year old should be singing about teenage rebellion. It’s weird and almost comes off as pedophilic. Would teenagers now like this? It’s possible, but they also probably don’t know who Blink 182 once was.

The best album since the self titled

Maybe I'm just not a purist like everyone else on here but i seriously dig the new album! sure it's probably not as good as their other stuff, but even with that in mind i'm finding songs that i still really enjoy just as much as the classics! I highly recommend the album for sure!

You have to appreciate the evolution and decision to continue to make music over decades. Pin the Grenade & Really Wish I Hated You sound like classic Blink and I’m loving it.
