Sturgill Simpson - Ronin Song Lyrics

Lyrics for artist Sturgill Simpson song Ronin coming soon. What does Chuck Norris think about this song lyrics? There is great debate over whether The Book Of Chuck (written by Chuck Norris in 1989) should be included in the Bible. It mostly contains stories of Norris' sexual conquests and his overall Godliness, but the occasional philosophy contained within easily renders the rest of the books obsolete.

- Fabulous album

There’s not much one can say negatively about this album. It has everything that I like about music. I had never heard of Sturgill Simpson before but I am heading to the store to check out his back albums.

- Best album ever

Love, love, love this album. On constant repeat. Discovered SS through NPR's Tiny Desk.Have gone to some of his back catalogue. Would love to see live but live on the other side of the world. Makes we want to go to Kentucky.

- Meh

I’m sorry. Love the guy. Have his other albums. Made a purchase based on previous experience. This is absolute garbage. Would I pay to see him in concert. Yes. Do I wish I didn’t purchase this album. Yes. Go back to what you did best.

- Road tripping from the slums to the forest

Loved the Netflix film, had to pickup the source material. Feels right as I traverse these highways and byways. Art feeding art.

- Masterpiece

Heard him on Rogan and he said buy the full album and listen to it. This isn’t about songs. This is an experience. I really loved it Best Buy in a long time.

- New fan

Just recently discovered Sturgill and I can’t get enough of his music. Every song I listen to I like. Sound & Fury is so f’n cool. I love the whole funk/outlaw/futuristic sounds he creates and makes it easy to imagine the story in your mind when you listen.

- Best album since Chris Gaines debut

The explanation that he was high, extremely high, while making this is important to note. Second, that it isn’t music made for people who like to buy music is another important note. Be a musician. Be an artist. Giving people music they want to buy is being a sell out.

- Let Down

I know that every artist has listened to country, rock, classical,opera and others. It shapes what makes them an artist. They also have a recording sound. That sound is their signature for the album. Sturgill's previous albums have that great sound and fantastic music. You could tell what he was listening to when growing up. On this cd he threw out his signature sound and music for some kind of strange blend of off the wall big shed music and sound. The recording and production is so tinny and tight that the lyric might be good but is spoild by the sound. The best sound is the one that has his signature on it. Mercury in Retrogram. I understand that sometimes an artist wanted to do something different. That doesn't mean that it will be good. At least he didn't change his name like one artist I know.{Garth Brooks}

- Quietest album I have from iTunes

I can't get volume out of this. I have full volume on my earbuds on my iphone and its not as loud as his other albums or my many other albums. Something is wrong. It obiovusly supposed to be played loudly and this isn't delivering.

- Awesome!!!

Stieglitz Simpson is like Waylon Jennings, Chris Whitley, Matthew Sweet, and Joe Satriani rolled into one artistical musical kaliedescope. Simply brilliant.

- It took a minute...

...a few spins that is. But front to back this is his best, most consistent record. It’s a rock record through and through, and far more cohesive than the initial listen suggests. If you’re looking to get your “You Can Have the Crown” or “Turtles all the way Down” on, you way n’t find ‘em here. Appreciate this for the rock record it is, and a darn fine one, or go back to what he’s already put to tape. My favorite album so far this year. And it’s not particularly close.

- Life changing

A masterpiece of storytelling with guts and soul🤘

- The hits keep coming

Let the artist work folks. Just when you think Sturgill can’t out do himself he does. It seems that the album was Heavily influenced by the early 80’s soundtrack Heavy Metal. At times I hear inspiration from Pink Floyd’s dark side of the moon, to Primus, to 80s pop sounds, all mixed in with a rock vibe that makes this album stand out from anything I’ve heard in a long time. I’m glad Sturgill isn’t influenced by the haters, and I’m sure there are a lot of them, keep doin what your doin Sturgill.

- Defies genre(s)

Unbelievable ALBUM. Has songs that might be singles but it’s better if you listen cover to cover. Open up your minds or move on if you don’t like or respect it. Can’t wait to see him play these live.

- Great

Great.

- Old School Fuzzy Vibe

This album straight rocks (its not country). His new direction has the old-school flare of ZZ Top, with some out-of-this-world leanings of desert rock bands like Clutch, Monster Magnet, Orange Goblin mixed with a few Atari sound effects. I'm not trying to say he sounds like those other bands, just letting you know what to expect. This album is kind of in a genere of its own. I totally dig it. 5 stars for sure. It's about time someone broke out of the prefomulated, status quo sound and shake the sheep out of their one-track-mind expactations. Open your mind and you'll soon groove out to this outworldy sound.

- Best album in a decade

Love love love this album. Defies genres.

- Amazing

Such a great album and film. Animation and music took me back to the days of watching Akira, heavy metal and ghost in the shell. I’ll definitely be catching his tour.

- Hope he didn’t waste his money

Hands down the worst music so far this year. He should’ve stuck to what he was good at.

- Bad Production, Real Bad

I understand artists want to expand and grow and change. That being said, he flew the coop to early. He should have established himself more as a true superstar in country. Before he did that, he was already experimenting and of course he took it way too far. I'm guessing 10-20 years down the road, he will think, "What was I thinking"?? Terrible production.

- Musician being a musician

First off, I am more of a fan of Sturgill Simpson and what he’s done than any other musician in the last 15 years. Huge Jamey Johnson, Hank Jr., Waylon, CDB, Cash and Merle fan, but have been really hooked on Sturgill since hearing his first solo album. That being said, every Sturgill album has been a progression and a sneak peak of things to come and Sound & Fury doesn’t disappoint in any way in my opinion. Sturgill is showing just how good he is!

- Incredible album!!

Never heard of this guy prior to watching his music video on Netflix. I'm a huge Anime fan and this was recommended. I was thinking it was a movie kinda like a Heavy Metal movie, but it wasn't not even close. It was like watching an orgasmic music video that wouldn't end. I went back and listened to some of his previous works (eventhough I'm not the biggest country music fan) and I appreciate his ability to expand and try something outside of his "genre" and become something much different. If you like classic rock with a Pink Floyd "The Wall" symphony style with a mix of some of the 80's keyboard intrepretations this is for you. I think this album may be similar to the transformation of the Beatles. All I have to say to Stugrall as a new fan is to keep pushing the envolope and make new things that people can't imagine, that is your job as a musician. Continue making rock, not friends... believe me, I don't like modern music but you've hit a nerve. It's been a while to hear something new and as refreshing as this.

- My gosh

If you lived in the Blade Runner universe, this would be your country music.

- Huh

What happened to Sturgil? This reminds me of the concept album Shooter Jennings made. Every song is a mess and his fantastic voice is just lost. I am a major fan and this is a letdown to say the least.

- Makes me wish Black Ribbons came with a movie

Something different, a album that the record makers in Nashville would try to starve out.

- Absolutely amazing

I’ve never reviewed an album before but Sturgill has killed it with this one. The entire album is amazing. While there are some songs I enjoy more than others, I can listen to this on repeat and hear something different each time. Sturgill Simpson has really come out as his own artist and it shows in each song. Well done.

- Stupid

Trash

- Sturgill Simpson raises the level again

Just listen to this album from start to finish, then do it again, then repeat that. You can thank me later.

- In the top ten.

Can you wear out a digital album? Can’t stop listening to it. Very different from his previous albums but a solid one beginning to end.

- Awesome. Just AWESOME.

You gotta watch the album on Netflix to truly be able to appreciate this. It’s all the things we loved about the “Heavy Metal (1981) film but honestly...the music is better. This entire album EPIC. Yes...EPIC and I don’t give reviews. This is WORTH IT.

- One of the Better Sounding Albums this Year

It's creative, its strange, its popping, its a whole new genre within the album. Sturgill and friends created a giant melting pot of many genres and exploded it into 10 tracks. It flows like pink Floyds dark side of the moon but it keeps a fantastic high octane energy that cant stop you from moving.

- HELLL YEA!!!

SO MUCH YES! I love country but I love the story behind this album so much better, after previewing just two songs hell YES i'm buying this!!!

- Killer album

I love his originality. Every album is different and I love that.

- why no comparisons?

to My Morning Jacket ever? he and Jim James seem like bro.s from an other mo.s

- The Best Album

The best album that has came out in a long time!

- Wow

This slaps.

- I Don't Get It

I tried to like this album. Listened to it once, didn’t get it. Watched the Netflix Anime by Sturgill, still didn't get it. Got up and folded laundry without pausing it. A Sailor's Guide was profound...this is just...well...strange? I have Sturgill in a much played playlist with Tedeschi Trucks, and Jamie Johnson. This album won't be added. A one listen album for me.

- Thanks Joe Rogan

I looked up his music after hearing him on the podcast and I’m glad to have discovered my new favorite band! I see plenty of reviews that are pretty disappointed that this is far away from what some people expected but after downloading all of his albums, I couldn’t be a bigger fan of this bands unwillingness to stay within easily defined boundaries. I highly recommend checking out the anime with it, and whatever you do, remember to breath.

- Turible

How is making a more main stream sounding album an “artist following his muse”. Sell out is still a useful term when talking about artistic integrity.

- Talented

The boy is talented. Goes from country to playing the other side and still sounds awesome

- What the World NEEDS

Sturgill 4 President! He tells it the way it should be. Love the sound but love the lyrics more. Can’t get enough 🙌🏻⛩🎚⚔️🔮

- Miss the original sound but....

He did say he was going to do something different so to be fair new sound doesnt sound so bad. It takes away your voice that sets you apart from other singers though with all the sounds going on. Plus barely in rispy raspy back and forth tones through voice. Wont buy it but aint gonna knock it for new sounds. Some songs are great in it.

- Album of the year

This album rocks!!!

- Unsure

I like Sturgill a lil more as straight Country. This sounds like a wannabe Kiko by Los Lobos. Which is one of my all time favorite albums. IDK, he’s a great talent, but this is lacking. Still a huge fan.

- For fans of music

Sturgill is gonna lose some of his country purist fans with this one. But the fans of genuine, authentic, raw music are going to love it. The absolute only way to listen to this album is in order from start to finish... though I catch myself hitting repeat on “Make Art Not Friends” every time through. Amazing track. Overall album is 5/5.

- If it isn’t the album of the year it’s surely one of them

An Ambitious and uncompromising rock n roll album.

- Best record of his career so far!

Love the Pink Floyd vibe

- Never Fails To Amaze

This man can do no wrong. I love the courage to do what you want to and not tap dance for your record company. Keep killing it Sturgill

- Fantastic

Anyone who doesn’t like this album should kill themself.

- Best Sturgill yet

Go in with expectations and you might not like it. That was me. Listen to it straight through a second time and you will fall in love.

- Dreck...

If you’re buying any of his music at this point, I cannot understand how you would’ve been a fan of his earlier music. This is just garbage, self-indulgent garbage. I understand he’s an artist who follows his own muse, but this is just trash IMO. I’ve seen longform interviews with him and he seems like a really really great guy, but I deleted his last album from my library and I won’t buy this one

- What happened?

I'm not sure what happened between this album and the last, but whatever it was, it wasn't good. The entire album feels like a bad 70's TV show song. Each song is remarkibly similar, with a never ending, nails on chaulkboard, electric guitar whaling in your ear.
