An ode to being at a standstill, “daybed” finds twigs trapped in her daybed, as her loneliness results in the amplification of all senses around her. On the one year anniversary of "MAGDALENE", twigs revealed on her Instagram story that “daybed” was the first song she wrote for the album: "'i wrote daybed with @eccopn in new york first in about 2017 and then didn’t write anything else for a year or so that made the record'"
