This is honestly the best Christmas album ever recorded! I’ve been listening to the original version for years. The extra songs on the 25th anniversary edition are well worth the repurchase!

This deluxe reissue of Mariah's Christmas album features Merry Christmas in it's entirety on disc one and a sampling of "Merry Christmas II You" on the second disc along with live cuts and extended club mixes and the program is generous on the second disc, pretty much almost maxed out. While the outtake "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" previously released in Japan on the SACD format a few years ago is finally here the mastering of this disc isn't as clean and crisp as the original 1994 version. I believe the sonics were turned down a touch to accomodate vinyl but the second disc is perfect. honestly for those of us who own the original 1994 cd stick with that and cherry pick the rest from here.

I had to give her 4 star which is shocking for me considering myself being a lamb of 3 years after hearing “my all” i decided to buy all her albums cuz thats what a fan would do. I love her christmas album and after hearing about this i was screaming on the inside but not out cuz my family is sleeping right now. I decided to give her a 4 star after seeing “God rest ye merry gentlemen” in there but the extra star missing is for a missing track which is “Holy Night” live at WPC from her Merry Christmas 2 U but if that track was there i would give it a 5 star. I know yall would say just buy her second christmas album then but thats different

The additions for this 25year anniversary of Merry Christmas are spectacular. Many of her fans, or “lambs”, have waited for the release of her live performances at the Cathedral of St John the Divine...and we have not been disappointed. Now if only we can get the actual footage. But her performances are beautiful, as well as her additional Xmas songs and remixes. Truly no one does Xmas like Mariah. The whistles in her Sugar Plum Fairy make me want to loop the introlude. If you’re a fan of Merry Christmas this will not disappoint. Amazing piece of work!
