It’s a shame, I was rooting for her.

I believe that we all expected this album to have a few more iconic tracks/hits than it does. I also believe that the choice to release "Rare" as a single is a very poor choice; it carries a great message but it's not single worthy, it’s too melancholy and has a forgettable hook and chorus. While it’s not my personal favorite track, “Ring” has that uniqueness that could potentially make it catchy hit. “Vulnerable” would make a great follow-up single.

I’ll be the first to admit this won’t be for everyone, but that’s not really the point of the album. I don’t think it’s meant to fit everyone’s taste, or expectations of pop music. I will say it is most definitely for me, because I enjoy this album back to front, and the message it has to say as a whole piece of work.

I don’t think every song is the same and even if it was, usually when I find a song that I like, I really like to hear similar songs too. I think it’s a thoughtful album and even if she is not the most skilled singer, she is a skilled musician; not every very skilled singer has the ability to make good music.

Rare is a masterpiece & there are absolutely no bad songs on it, from Rare to Sweeter Place, each song has different sound. Selena has evolved, personally and professionally.

Does not sound like a generic pop music on the radio these days. From beginning to end, every track complements the next one. (Except the popular single, Lose You To Love Me which stands out). It’s authentic and has an interesting vibe. Cut You Off and Ring are the tracks to look out for.

With great singles being added onto the deluxe version such as Bad Liar, Fetish, Wolves, Back To You and It Ain’t Me, as well as the new two singles LAHN and LYTLM, that’s 7 AMAZING singles out of 18 for the deluxe version. Can’t wait! Buying this, not streaming for once! She deserves every song play credit. Loving this album! Better than Revival. Stand outs are all songs!

Truly her best album she’s done to date, absolutely love how it sounds sonically. Her voice is so raw and unedited at times, it gives you the chills. Every single song is a 10/10 from me!

Out of all the albums being teased and released these last few years Rare is the one I’ve been excited for the most and Selena has not let me down. I honestly can’t fault this album, after one listen I was hooked and it’s one of the few albums you actually want to listen to from start to finish repeatedly, no fillers and every song a standout. A five year gap between Revival and Rare wasn’t intended and although I was desperate for the new album I’m glad Selena took her time, if she released the follow up to Revival in 2017/18 it would have just been an exact copy of Revival, taking her time meant she made a perfect 13 track body of work. Can’t being to recommend this album enough, definitely one of Selena’s strongest albums and most raw and personal to date. Standout tracks are Rare, Dance Again, Lose You To Love Me, Vulnerable, People You Know, Let Me Get Me, Kinda Crazy and A Sweeter Place. I know that’s near enough all 13 songs but it’s just too good an album to narrow the standouts down.

Cohesive, solid body of work that showcases Gomez’s strengths and improvements since her last album Revival. Rare gives us an insight to the artists personal life while also remaining relatable, a beautiful project that let’s the listeners take a ride on a journey through healing and self-love.
