There has been a flooding of KSI fans trying to get his album to number 1, however I’d just like to give an honest opinion on the album. The first 4 tracks on the album were excellent, my favourite of which being What You Been On, which is a dark, synthy trap beat which hits hard. And even the lyricism is awesome. Cap, although I don’t fancy KSI’s chorus, has a very strong and familiar trap beat with a wonderful performance from Offset, and not to mention KSI’s smokey auto tune. Poppin is less compelling and a little annoying, but a fun song nevertheless. Houdini is easily the most listenable and catchy song for a wide audience, and is a great radio song. The compilation of British artists represents the best they have to offer. KSI’s vocals on this track are some of his best, fun, catchy and he seems to not take himself so seriously. Bad Lil Vibe, as a fan of Jeremih’s style, was a pleasure to listen to, and although they have no chemistry in terms of vocals, it’s a strong beat with a catchy flow. How it feel is one of the weakest tracks on here and something I would not listen to again. It’s okay in terms of the chorus but just slightly boring. Wake Up Call features a very very strong accumulation of lines from Trippie Redd that combines with an extremely catchy instrumental. KSI’s rapping is alright, the flow is decent, but once again nothing special here. Kills Killa for me is the most obnoxious song on the track. It may appeal to an audience that do not listen to trap or rap considering it feature an upbeat instrumental and a Killa verse from Aiyana Lee, however it is for me very plain, and KSI’s part is quite vanilla. The instrumental does not fit in with KSI’s style, but once again, I do see people liking this track. Domain is another strong and dark trap beat that has some strong lyricism from KSI. The kick and subtle synth in the background along with great choir vocals makes for one of the best tracks on the album and something that is bound to be replayed. KSI finds some amazing flow in this one that must be commended. Down Like That features two music megastars, Rick Ross and Lil Baby, and is definitely one of the most listenable and catchy songs on the album. KSI’s verses lack the mighty intent and hard hitting note that makes his other tracks so successful, but strong performances from Lil Baby and Rick Ross compliment the amazing high key piano instrumental to make Down Like That KSI’s most successful songs. Undefeated although featuring a very slick and cool chorus from KSI, lacks much variation from his other trap trap inspired tracks. Mediocre at best and not in the slightest worthy of a replay. Millions is a fan favourite and is clear to see why. Dissimulation was after all the title of the album, and the internal conflict and the bottled up rage he is experiencing throughout this track makes for a touching and emotional experience. His flows are excellent on here and listening to a larger than life YouTuber talk about his personal issues was humbling, and really sheds light into that different side of him that he teased prior to the albums release. A strong but subtle tune helps to not flood the importance of the lyricism, but instead compliments it in a refreshing way. Overall, the album is good, however I see so much more potential for his next album. There is no debate that there are some excellent and catchy tracks on this album, but a lack of variation and flair on some of the songs on here really take away from the experience. That being said, I am so very excited to see where he takes his music career next. 3/5 stars.
