D4L by Future, Drake & Young Thug Song Info
Drake reunites with Atlanta trap artists Future and Young Thug for a tribute to the Atlanta rap collective D4L, which consisted of members Fabo, Mook-B, Stoney, and Shawty Lo. The song is a remix of Dreezy’s and 2 Chainz‘ January 2018 track “2nd to None”–which was also produced by Southside. Throughout the track, the trio represent their individual labels, Drake’s October’s Very Own (OVO), Future’s FreeBandz Gang (FBG), and Thugger’s Young Stoner Life Records (YSL), brag about their high-class lifestyles, and interpolate Drizzy’s iconic “what’s hannenin'?” from his June 2010 single with Lil Wayne, “Miss Me”—a line which was in turn borrowed from D4L’s November 2005 song, “I’m Da Man.”
