Olivia Rodrigo, the reason why I’m giving this One Star is because of two things one not some songs all of her songs in the new album “Sour” don’t make sense she keeps using the same words which is repetition. Some examples are, “like”, “You”, “I”, and “We”. The lyrics don’t make sense she only talks about one thing and another whole different subject. Last thing is her identity, she is girl and that’s who she was created to be. In some lyrics she talks about how bad she wants to be just like her ex being a “man”, and how you also want to be and act just like his girlfriend. Come On Now! She wasn’t created to be a man nor bad or mean. She really does have an amazing voice, don’t get me wrong. She just has to use that voice for good. Be who are are. There’s millions of kids who look up to her and other artists. Don’t stay stuck in that mentality where you won’t ever get a boyfriend ever again, you will you just have to find the right one. She can cry and be sad but not forever. She is a smart and talented girl! Be who you are! Make wise choices! 😊☝🏼

In my opinion, her singing is amazing and most of the songs are great, however they do sound very “basic” if you get what I’m trying to say. They all sound similar and about the same “heartbreak over a guy” subject. Her vocals are amazing and she’s very talented, however she should be more diverse on what she sings about and how she sings it. Overall she’s very talented especially at a young age. I understand why it’s so popular. Except most of the songs are about the same thing (guys). It kinda gets old. I hope her next album is a bit happier and maybe with songs that don’t contain so many cuss words. My favourite is definitely déjà vu, it is a work of art. You know what, this is a pretty solid debut album. Is it the best album ever? No, but there is room for huge potential with Olivia. For someone her age, the songs are very mature and well written. It’s a good collection of songs. My only “complaint” is that I WISH there was more of the Pop Punk/90s Alt Rock influence on the album as her voice suits it so much. For what’s is there, it really reminds me classic Avril Lavigne or Paramore. Olivia’s best is yet to come.

She’s an 18 girl. Grown men coming on here slagging her off, get a life. Her songs are dealing with open and honest issues that come from the heart. I’m sure with time her songs and stories will change, as we all do. This album is a great first album, lots of songwriting talent especially since most artists work with loads of writers and producers and this is mainly just her.

It takes influence from other genres but it’s lacking in what it could be since olivias creativity or originality isn’t her strength. The music videos are somehow way better than the music.

I am quite fond of Olivia Rodrigo’s songs, but as people say, they are very basic and they all sound the same. There is noting diverse about her songs since they all talk about the same thing. Her voice however, is very good for an 18 year old. She has such maturity to write songs like this but we need to give it a bit more -oomph- you know? But other than that, the songs are okay. My favourite is Good 4 U. It’s good because it changes tones by going very mellow then getting tense. I like that aspect of her music but more needs to be done to give it more diversity. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
