- The Gershwins aren't worried but....

...this is still a fun album with lots of hummable tunes. "It's Your Wedding Day", "Someday" and "Pop" are all catchy and plot-propelling winners, with many of the others not much further behind in terms of listenability. The music, upon each listening, reveals a little more of the 80s classics that inspired the songs. It's probably most fun for those of us who were in our teens and 20s during the 80s.

- At least they tried

I saw this show opening week. What a disaster. Boring, stupid, cheesy sets, not one bit of chemistry between the two leads (Laura Benanti though very good in NINE is much too old for this part). But it is a cast recording being reviewed here so here that goes. The lyrics of the songs are childish at best. Anyone with a rhyming dictionary could have done better. The only song that sticks is "It's Your Wedding Day" and they know it and boy do they use it. The only performance worth anything is Felicia Finley's portrayal of Linda...origal and an awesome performance. I wanted to leave at intermission because I was cringing from the stupid songs, ridiculous script lines( stolen for the most part verbatim from the moviebut just not worked or delivered correctly on that stage) This is an insult to true musical theatre lovers. As for another post that compared this to Hairspray....there is no comparison.

- The best album in years

The album is fantastic. This is the only album i love evry song on. I saw the show and i fell off my seat laughing. The show and the album are the best on broadway

- come out of the dumpster

this is the one of the best shows and albums in a while...i love every song...especially "come of the dumpster";-)

- AWESOME!

I LOVE THIS CD AND SHOW! I went to the show twice and couldn't wait for the album to come out, now its finally out and I can not stop listening to it. It's filled with all the songs from the musical that have great tunes. All the songs will make you want to sing and dance along. You should by this CD because I know you will enjoy it as much as I do.

- Extraordinary!

This album is simply amazing! I have always been a fan of Stephen Lynch, and when the song "It's Your Wedding Day" was the free download of the week a while back I downloaded it immediately and fell in love with it. Well I finally got around to buying the complete album and I was not disappointed. Very Well done. I'm sure it would be a fantastic show to see live!

- Wow. Wow, wow, wow.

I LOVE THIS MUSIC!!! I first heard the songs "If I told you", "someday" and "It's your wedding day" on iTunes, and i loved them. Then I saw the movie, and i loved that even more. If you haven't seen it yet, I command you to go to the nearest video store and rent it. It's worth it, definetly.

- Funny and entertaining

I saw this show three times while in NY and loved every performance. The cast is fantastic! The show is the most energetic show I've ever seen. Simply the most fun I've ever had in a theater (and I've seen plenty of shows). The soundtrack is really great. All the songs are nice to listen to and catchy. "If I Told You" is a very sweet duet and its reprise is nice too. If you like the music, you gotta see it performed live (especially the Act One closer "Saturday Night in the City.") Great great stuff.

- I LOVE IT.

To tell you the truth, I've never actually seen the show, though I'm DYING to. But I heard the CD at a friend who has seen the show's house & immediately FELL IN LOVE. I almost like this better than Wicked. Almost. :)

- yea...

It was alright... some songs are funny and some are just weird but it was good. :0

- BEST NEW MUSICAL SINCE WICKED AND PHANTOM!!

ok mayb i havent seen it yet.... but the music is AWESOME!!!!!! now that im sick of WICKED and PHANTOM songz this is my new obsession oh when it's you're wedding day.....

- dont' waste your time...

like the title says. disapointing and forgettable.

- More Than Pleasantly Surprised

When I first heard from a friend that they were turning The Wedding Singer into a musical, I thought she was joking. My first thought was, these days they just take any movie at all, add some songs, and BAM! it's a new Broadway hit. I mean, I've heard rumors that they're making a Legally Blonde musical =O =\. But then I listened to this soundtrack to see if it was going to be as horrible as my mind made it out to be- and boy was a wrong. The songs are catchy. I'll have It's Your Wedding Day stuck in my head for the next week. And apparently the play has the same plot as the movie, which is great. I think Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore would thoroughly enjoy this. 'Number one on list of things to do: Buy Wedding Singer tickets.;] '

- i like it's your wedding day

The background is really cool, can't believe it's associated with wedding stuff. And the music is very rocky and the singer kinda sings like a Japanese singer.

- An Abomination

That's all I have to say.

- Huh-freakin-larious!

My husband, two of my friends, and I saw this show on Broadway, and it was SO much better than we expected! My friend and I are huge fans of the movie, and I have to say that we are now HUGE fans of the musical. :) After watching this show, I was counting down the days until its album release, and I am SO pleased with it!

- Obsession

Nobody knows how obsessed I am with this musical. I honestly listen to it about 2-3 times per day

- Awsome

I just saw this in NY and was really amazed with it. It was great and everyone sang great.

- Great!!!

If you loved the show, you will love the soundtrack! The best thing about Broadway soundtracks is that they allow you to experience the show over and over again. The Wedding Singer is great!!! I loved the show, it is fun and all the songs are very catchy. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good time. The only thing that upset me was they took off the song "My Eight Men," which they previewed in Seattle. But I really cannot complain it is still great!

- Fantastic

This is definitely a must-see musical with a fantastic musical score. The songs are contagious and catchy, and audiences of all ages can appreciate the humor! It's also something very exciting for Stephen Lynch fans. He doesn't just sing songs about putting hamsters into absurd places and the pastimes of Satan--he's great on broadway, too!

- Amazing!!

I had gotten the free download on itunes and then my mom told me we were going to see the show since we live by NYC. I was really excited!! Wedding Singer, my 13th Broadway show, was AMAZING!!! Hysterical. I could not stop laughing when Robbie sang Somebody Kill Me. My dad kept kicking me to shut up. It doesn't really have a strong plot, like Wicked, but the music and dancing and comedy is catchy and great. If you ever happen to be in NYC, I strongly suggest seeing this show, Mamma Mia, Wicked or Hairspray, GREAT SOUNDTRACK!!!! And I also met 10 of the main or supporting characters after the show at the stage door. IF AND WHEN YOU GO SEE THIS SHOW, AFTER THE SHOW HAVE YOUR PLAYBILL OR SOMETHING OUT AND WALK TO YOUR LEFT ONCE YOU EXIT THE THEATHER. THERE YOU WILL SEE A BLOCKED OFF AREA. WAIT THERE AND WHEN PEOPLE WALK OUT OF THE DOOR WAVE YOUR THING IN FRONT OF THEM!! THEY WILL SIGN IT!!

- amazing.

When a 14 year old, who coudln't care less for theatric stuff says taht a broadway music is good. then it's gotta be AMAZING i only saw it cuase i'm a lynch fan and i like the movie. but the play was AMAZING lynch was a perfect fit for sandler role BUY NOW! and see it now

- Great Album!

This Album is fantastic. It's filled to the brim with catchy tunes and fun 80's jams! Some standouts are It's Your Wedding Day, Come Out of the Dumpster, Saturday Night In The City, It's All About the Green, and If I Told You. The only dissapointment was the song Somebody Kill Me... As a fan of the movie I was used to the edgy sound that Adam Sandler produced on that song.. He was basically yelling and it was full of emotion and amazing... Stephen Lynch sings it too "pretty". I was a little upset, but the song following, A Note From Grandma, made me fell better. Hearing an old lady sing "Skanky Wh***" is amazing!

- Broadway legend, Thy name is Wedding Singer.

I got this album when i found out i was going to be seeing this show in January 07 for school. I was so excited when i found out, and since i've listened to the album i'm even more excited! I'm a showtune junkie, and this is by far my favorite. Its so much fun. It has a great variety ranging from big company pieces like "It's Your Wedding Day" to classic 80's rock songs like "Casualty Of Love" (Which is probably my favorite song ever) and fun 80's pop songs like the appropriately titled, "Pop!" And there's so many surprises throughout the album like the end of "A Note From Grandma." And Stephen Lynch's rendition of "Somebody Kill Me" Would make Adam Sandler proud! I would recommend this album to someone who's been listening to showtunes all their lives, and to someone who's never even heard "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story. Truely Amazing!

- Stephen Lynch shines!

Stephen Lynch is phenomenal in his Broadway debut. All the songs that feature him are in heavy rotation on my play lists. Having said that, the rest of this soundtrack is a bit lacking. There are catchy hooks and some funny lyrics here and there but besides the two songs from the original movie and a few others, namely It's Your Wedding Day, Someday, and Single, I was a little disappointed

- Okay!

The Movie was way, way, way, way better!!!

- One of my favorite cast recording!!

I've seen this musical in NY twice and absolutely love it!! The music is memorable and cheerful. Reminds me the great time when I saw the show. Buy the album and you won't regret it!

- It's AWESOME

The song - It's your Weding Day keeps humming in my head! and it's Free this week! O yeah! For the others, I just preview them in iTunes and I love the album very much. Will buy the album in CD form...(I only got $3.06 left in my iTMS account ><)

- YUP!! AH-MAZING

My mom is in the show. So I noe all the songs! Buy this and go see wedding singer!!!!!!!!!

- Best New Show Since....idk....Wicked

This album is absolutly incredible. The music is fun upbeat and will keep you going all the way through. For those who haven't seen the Broadway production, it is outstanding and it a million times better than the movie. The vocals are excellent and I completely recommend it to anyone, not just showtune lovers. I love it. Theres not much more i can say...except for the cast is really nice I met them all, ahh! I love it!

- GREAT cast album!!

I've seen this show twice now (I live in NYC) and it's a GREAT, FUNNY, FAST-PACED, HIGH ENERGY show and none of that is lost on the Original Cast Recording. The cast is amazingly talented, especially the leads and co-leads, and that comes across on the recording. So does the humor. I think that this is one of those cast recordings that even people who HAVEN'T seen the show would enjoy. I highly recommend it! And, if you can see the show, DO SO!!!

- Funny Story!

I had got the free song and I listened to it and thought it was a BIG joke, but thought it was sooo great and funny...when I found out it was a musical it just dawned to me that I should think a bit more...hahaha....not this stuff is good!

- Wedding Singer soundtrack

first review I've written, this was so bad I had to comment. Only the kill me song followed the movie. the grow old with you was the only worthwhile song on the whole album.

- THE WEDDING SINGER=GREATNESS

The show was FANTASTIC and the entire cast was just wonderful. Someone who certainly deserves recognition for this amazing soundtrack is the musical director, James Sampliner. I hope to see more from him in the future!! DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!!!!

- I Don't Think So!

Excuse me? What is this? This doesn't even come close to how good the movie is. Adam Sandler is awesome and this ... whatever this is ... isn't. So lame. So so lame.

- Wedding Singer

The Wedding Singer soundtrack features fabulous vocals and music, as well as upbeat, fun, and hilarious songs to enjoy.

- i like it, pretty sweet

ch-yea

- good album

It's pretty formulaic music...but it's a lot of fun. One warning....Stephen Lynch fans should not buy this expecting to hear his comedy stylings. He spends most of the time channeling Adam Sandler.

- The Best

I t was a amazing I could almost see the play without seeing it because of the cd Stephen Lynch Is AWASOME Superhero

- Wedding Singer cd keeps you running back to the 80's!

I have heard many mixed reviews about this show, but all of those have been thrown out! The Wedding Singer is the new Hairspray. The cast seems more than amazing and the chemistry between Robbie and Julia is phenomenal. Stephen Lynch shines in his Braodway debut. Laura Benanti is once again a star in her role. Amy Spanger, Felicia Finley, and Kevin Cahoon are so extremly funny. This cd is definately one to buy and enjiy for years to come. "If I Told You" is a new Broadway anthem.

- The Wedding Singer

OMG! I LOVE this soundtrack! It is upbeat funny & you'll want to listen to it over & over. Seeing the play in October, now that I have heard this, I CAN'T WAIT!!!

- ahhhhhh !!!!!!!

no no no this is Stupid I HATE it

- best of the season

Unfortunately, Wedding Singer took home no Tonys. But its still a damn good score. Amazing young performers, hillarious material, great songs, less than $10 dollars=a wonderful CD. This CD has not only good rock songs to jam to (It's Your Wedding Day, Saturday Night in The City, Casuakties of Love), but great love songs (Come Out of The Dumpster, Grow Old With You...) not only comedy (Today You Are A Man, Somebody Kill Me) but it also has flat out good songs (Pop!, Single, Not That Kind Of Thing...) Except for three reprises, the music is varied, from rock and roll to the classic showtune. It's a CD for everyone. Buy it now.

- AMAZING SHOW!!!!

I saw this show on Broadway with the original cast, and it is soooooooo amazing. The music is upbeat and the whole show is funny and interesting. Definately listen to this, and if you ever get the chance, SEE IT ON BROADWAY!!!

- Wedding Singer Musical is AMAZING

I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this album ever since I saw the show opening weekend! Now it's all I listen to. This album brings back all the memories of the show and I am pleased to own this album! Laura Benanti is in a perfect role for her as Julia! One of my personal favorite songs from the show is Someday. Laura Benanti (especially through this song) is able to make Julia so much more fun, playful, and loving than in the movie. The rest of the cast is great! Go see the show to see what I'm talking about! You'll love it!!!!

- I LOVE THE WEDDING SINGER!!!!!!!!!

OMG! THE WEDDING SINGER WAS THE BEST!! I OWN THE SOUNDTRACK AND I SAW IT ON BROADWAY!! WHO EVER DOES NOT LIKE IT IS A STUIPED MORON WHO LISTENS TO GAY MUSIC AND DOESNT HAVE AN IPOD.

- BEST EVER

I LOVE THE MUSIC! I JUST SAW IT ON THE TONY'S AND I AM OBSESSED NOW!

- I LOVE THIS MUSICAL

I have not seen this musical but I thibk that the soundtrack is fantastic. I bought this by chance and it turned out that I loved it. Stephen Lynch and Laura Benati are amazing in their parts and the other cast members are as well. Highlights include: "Right In Front Of Your Eyes," "Not That Kind of Thing," "Saturday Night In The City," "It's You Wedding Day," "Someday," "Pop," and "Grow Old With You." Take a chance and buy this CD. You will LOVE it!!

- LAUGH AT LOUD!

i saw the broad way play a couple a weeks ago! the best music and play i have seen! everytime i hear the music, i start dancing and singing. you must see and buy the wedding singer!

- AMAZING!

This recording is absolutely incredible. The cast is so talented (especially Amy Spanger!) and the CD truly captures the energy and amazingness of the show. You must get it now!
