The song serves as the fourth single to Belly’s third studio album, See You Next Wednesday. “Better Believe” may have been a throwaway from The Weeknd’s March 2020 chart-topping fourth studio album, After Hours, in which Belly co-wrote most of the tracks on. On March 15, 2021, an earlier version of the song without Young Thug, leaked. Belly revealed the song and its complete details with a snippet on July 19, 2021, revealing Thugger’s contribution, which was previously unknown.
