The girls have talent but sad to see YG letting them down. 2 years without anything and this being the comeback single.. it felt rushed, chorus was underwhelming and it was just all over the place. Overall just messy, sounds like they just threw stuff together without even caring about the final product. The only thing that they put effort into was visuals for the MV.

BlackPink has basically came on the scene and shown what true international stars they are. All the low rankings here are purely fandom jealousy. I'm not a BlackPink fan, but I do appreciate their talent, beauty, and the appeal of this song which I like a lot. I will say I am an iKON fan which may be another reason I like this song---it has that YG vibe.

I think Blackpink has become a group that follows and sets fleeting cultural trends. I tend to like groups more if they have actual messages to their music otherwise they are just making music for money and not using their talent and gifts to say something worthwhile. Actual messaging in a song means that song has a better chance of longevity. For many popular songs nowadays, kpop included, I get bored quickly because new music comes out everyday and it doesn’t feel like people are making music to last more than a couple months. Also a downside to having so many artists in music is people differentiate themselves based social trends and what’s popular instead of just being themselves and having that be what makes them competitive.

I don't love this comeback like the How You Like that actually kills us with Dance Break. Maybe I hyped in this comeback with their dance break and chorus that needs to be strong. After "I Bring The Pain Like" it should be much stronger chorus. However, their lyrics still kills and the Rap of Jennie and Lisa which was like a 90s vibe totally got us.

It’s about to go down. It seems like a proper sequel to their 1st full album release. What your expectations “are” and what they “are” moving forward are two different sides of the same coin. This is an exceptional track with silky beats with transitioning layers. Each layer could be its own track in itself. Vocals lends the to that end with what you find in these 4 women.
