this is a great ending for Mariah in her reign of the pop music scene of the 90's. The key song is "Heartbreaker"!!!!
& if anyone disagrees then tell me why she is the top selling female act? Exactly. The album is great. Its sad that not long after she brokedown though lol.
Notice I didn't say great becaues the last great one was butterfly and even that was borderline. There are some great songs but overall not this was the end of her great peak!
The voice is still there but the songs were not as catchy as from Daydream or Butterfly. With the first single Heartbreaker, she tries to take the teen pop route with the beats and song. Thank God I Found You was also a good single. It features Joe and former boyband 98 Degrees. It brings her back to her days of collabortations of R&B singers and mixing in with who was hot at the time. A lot of R&B/Hip-Hop stuff going on but still a number of ballads. Her cover of Against All Odds is perfect.
I love Mariah! And I love this album. Keep up the good work mariah!!!!! [ :
This was Mariah at her lowest.
OK OK, so she was recently divorced, dating Latin hunk Luis Miguel, and taking it all off. This album has it's catchy tunes, but it's nowhere near the majestry of Butterfly. Using heavy hip hop samples on songs like How Much, Did I Do That?, Heartbreaker Remix, leaves listners with a sour taste in the mouth.
this music is good but to slow makes me kinda tired
A DEFINITE GREAT album!!! I thoroughly enjoy this ENTIRE ALBUM. Against All Odds,Petals, & Rainbow always makes me cry!
Rainbow is the best album from Mariah !!!!!
Well I do have to agree with some of the other reviews, but her album is somewhat boring because it is so slow. she needs a mixture between slow and fast. that's why I suggest her newest album - the enticipation of mimi
i loved dis cd all da osngs got 2 me amazin
Initially Mariah wasn't even going to make this album, but wanted to finish with Sony as soon as she could so she pumped it out in the midst of writing for Glitter. Heartbreaker, the first hit single gave her enough #1's to beat the Beatles for the longest no. of weeks at no.1 on the charts. This CD is not as sultry or mellow as Butterfly, but it's just as good in my opinion. It contains extremely personal songs where Mariah is vulnerable and tells a lot about her past (which can't be found on later albums) like Petals. It contains inspiring songs like her Theme, a beautiful remake of Phil Collins hit and one of the most beautiful songs she's ever done; After Tonight. This is my one of my 3 FAVORITE of hers. I highly recommend it.
A great soundtrack of her life to update her fans with after the "Butterfly" era. Mariah still presents some of her best work with her last studio release from Columbia Records. Every ballad on this album is indeed precious and meaningful with every word and chord from her voice. The up-tempo tracks are great as well, with the exception of "How Much" featuring R&B sensation Usher. My favorites are: Heartbreaker, Can't Take That Away, After Tonight, X-Girlfriend, Against All Odds (cover of the very prominent Phil Collins hit), Did I Do That?, and Petals. Even the interludes Vulnerablilty and Rainbow exceed greatness.
I did not think Mariah was her best not a good album 2 songs are good though
I LUV THIS ALBUM ROCKS GREAT ALBUM
