- Lyrical, devastating perfection

A beautiful collection of music, each song detailing its own unique experience. The lyrics are amazing as always. This album is definetly one that grows on you, with beats for the pop-lovers and devastating-piano-song-lovers. Give it a listen, you're sure to find something you love. (I recommend loml and Guily as Sin?)

- Great if you’re in desperate need of sleep

I was so bored by this album, I almost fell asleep while listening to it. Everything sounds the same, I didn’t always know when a song ended and a new one started. Taylor Swift doesn’t seem to want to evolve in her music or storytelling. Would be great if she stopped releasing albums every 7-14 business days and took the time to create something actually good.

- meh

same old same old

- THIS ALBUM AREN’T FOR NEW FANS OR A NON TAYLOR SWIFT LISTNER

Some people are saying that this album sounds repetitive and I could say the same when this album released. But it is an actual grower, give it a few listen then you can hear the difference of each song

- Amazing

As usual she killed it again.

- Grow up

Bro you are 35 quit singing about depressing relationships with teenage boys that happened 5-10 years ago jeezus.

- Very, Very Good… Except When It’s Not

TTPD had the potential to be a truly superb album, and in flashes, that potential is realized. Coming in at 31 songs that include the 16 primary songs and 15 from The Anthology that dropped a couple hours after the original drop, TTPD can feel and sound repetitive. The bloated track list makes it difficult to single out the stellar songs that are sandwiched between perfectly acceptable pop songs that aren’t overly memorable or innovative. The biggest surprise of TTPD is that it appears to largely address the short but impactful relationship between Swift and The 1975 frontman Matty Healy. Prior to the release of the album, it seemed almost certain that the focus would be on the breakup of Swift and her boyfriend of 6+ years, actor Joe Alwyn, which was announced in April 2023. The song “So Long, London,” a heartfelt ballad that is heavily Alwyn-coded, nabbed the Track 5 spot reserved for the most vulnerable, heart wrenching songs on Swift’s track lists. However, there’s limited direct evidence that Alwyn is the muse of additional songs on TTPD. Healy, on the other hand, appears to be front and center as the muse on numerous songs including the title track, “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys”, “Down Bad,” “Guilty as Sin”, “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can”, “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”, and several others. In my opinion, had the double album been edited down to only the cream of the crop on the main track list and The Anthology, TTPD would have been a much stronger entry into Swift’s discography. As is, casual fans or curious “possible future fans” might fall off somewhere between Track 7 “Fresh Out the Slammer” and Track 11 “I Can Fix Him,” which would cause them to miss several gems on the additional original 16 songs and The Anthology. The double album initially faced lukewarm reviews from some journalists and columnists and Rolling Stone deemed TTPD as an “instant classic.” Several of the harsher critics of TTPD later said that their less-than-flattering critiques were “hasty” and that the album “grows on you.” CNN’s Oliver Darcy said he had judged the album quickly thinking is too long long and unimpressive. A week later he said that “after spending more time with the two-hour sonic feast… I am ready to declare that it is one of Swift’s best works yet.” The commercial success of TTPD has been staggering beating numerous consumption records from streaming to the purchasing of the original album and The Anthology, as well as numerous variants. Swift also broke numerous records - some held by herself - such as the most steamed album in a single day, highest single-week streaming, and highest-single-week vinyl sales, etc. Swift’s 14th album offers more insight and information about the inner workings of “Taylor Swift the performer” and the actual Swift herself. We learn more than ever - at least, what Swift wants to learn about her. It’s more enjoyable for me to think of a real-life situation that makes me relate to the songs rather than spending an inordinate amount of time trying to unravel who Taylor’s muse was for each song. The most important piece is enjoying the music - not investigating her past. Granted, the lore is pretty fascinating From the original 16-song track list, the highlights of TTPD are “Down Bad,” “So Long, London,” “But Daddy I Love Him,” “loml,” “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart,” and “Clara Bow.” These songs vary sonically and thematically but they share a vulnerability that is touching and impactful. Plus, Swift’s best weapons in her arsenal are her ability to create lyrical magic, to write songs that her fans relate to despite Swift being a world-famous superstar billionaire, and to create songs with interesting and memorable hooks and bridges. The best songs in the 15 song Anthology are “The Black Dog,” “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus,” “The Prophecy,” “Peter,” “The Bolter,” and “The Manuscript.” The Anthology section was produced by Aaron Dessner - with the exception of Jack Antonoff as producer for one song. All in all, TTPD is a poor album, a good album, and a great album depending on what song you are listening to and if you are attempting to listen to all 31 songs at once.

- A true swifty

Her new work (in my mind) is better then her old work. She is much more mature and she is brave and kind

- I agree ☝️ Freddie i ignoledge you

Boo Tyler swift

- TTPD

Her best album, iconic, a masterpiece!! ❤️

- Love ittt

ok so i've been reading some reviews and over half of them are saying things like "they all sound the same," and "shes not a poet." 1. listen to i hate it here, then i can do it with a broken heart and then so high school. 2. if you think"god save the most judgmental creeps who say they want what's best for me sanctimoniously preforming soliquies i'll never see." isn't poetry then you're either a man who doesn't like to see a woman who's smarter and more successful than you or you're a pick me girl who's hating on other more successful women because you're trying to be "different." please if you have any taste in music listen to this album with an open mind and i guarantee you'll find at least one song that you love (or at least tolerate.)

- Perfect

loml is the most perfect song to ever exist

- another album of clichès

i can’t understand the appeal of pretentiousness

- My favorite album

- Her best if you get it you get it

Honestly don’t get the people saying it’s trash, not one bit🫨

- Rip off artist

Can’t even create her own sounds. She looks around and rips off very talented self labeled artist. She should probably got back to country music.

- Wack

- Great

I like the album

- ABSOLUTLEY love this album

This album brings me many emotions. Haters are just going to hate. And for the people who say you don’t like her new music, she’s trying to experiment with new genres. I also love the anthology songs. My favorite is the black dog -a Swiftie

- Incredible, her best work to date!

I had to give it a second listen to get into it, but it is by far her best work. The songwriting is some of the best out there too.

- TAY U ATE

i love this album so much, every song is filled with so much emotion and storytelling. its rare to find an artist that you can relate to the lyrics and understand what’s happening in their life through music. taylor gives amazing details and her sound is amazing. TAY U GOT THIS I WILL LISTEN TO ANYTHING U PUT OUT

- Adore it

Fantastic story telling and catchy songs.

- Trash

Not good

- It ain’t deep

Y’all. If you’re angry about the double album thing, just get a brain cell and don’t preorder anything. You don’t have to be the first person to listen. And if you literally just can’t wait 2 hours to buy it, then do you have a therapist?? Something has gone horribly wrong here.

- Awful album

Worse album of 2024

- Taylor this is awesome

Don’t listen to the other reviewers because this is my second favorite album after reputation and TTPD kinda matches the vibe to reputation so I don’t think that you should take a break I think you should KEEP IT UP✨✨✨✨💖💖💖 Btw their should be such thing as a 10 star rating for your albums because they deserve it 😁

- Torture, poets department

Taylor Swift is overrated

- Amazing!

Yes it is!

- 🥰

AMAZING album about tortured love.❤️‍🔥

- Seriously?

I liked a lot of Taylor’s early music, and even some of Folklore, but this album is just awful and I wish I could get my money back. It’s sad, depressing, musically nothing remotely interesting, and really she should take a break and wait until real inspiration hits…other than oh poor me whine whine.

- Best album ever

Taylor swift should collab with Olivia Rodrigo

- The Tortured Poets Department

Swifties your right to tell the haters that they hate the album But it soooo good i love it i think she will get an Award for this album

- LOVE

I love this album it is sooo good like I can’t even explain how good it is. Love you Taylor you are def one of my favorite singers

- The person at the top

Wrote a whole article lol I can’t stand Taylor swift bc she’s a political person who uses her non political genre and music style to push people to the left side of the political spectrum. If you are gonna go political and use your over auto tuned music to brainwash people, at least make something that doesn’t sound like my dog puking on the floor. I mean bro?! Every song sounds the same and if they are all the same they are all garbage. I can’t stand this artist. I think the only thing keeping her alive is her pop obsessive overly depressed teenage girl fan base. If I could pick her and one artist to put at the top, I wouldn’t pick so she wouldn’t be at the top. She makes my ears blood bleed. I think she should take a break like everyone is saying. Except maybe make it a long break. Like a life sentence in jail long break. Sorry for beating a pop artist when she is down but- wait I ain’t sorry for nun. Get your POP OBSESSIVE… OVERLY DEPRESSED.. . TEENAGE GIRL…FANBASE OUTTA HERE… also… why is this four stars??? The math doesn’t add up. She should be around 3 with this album. I think iTunes gave her a pity point. Gah I just wrote a fricking article… bye. I don’t want no trouble for this cuzzo. Mk? I’m prolly gonna get sum anyway tho.

- No.

Just stop. You’re overhyped, overrated, and underwhelming.

- Love it

Best album ever!

- Best album yet

Slow burn but now it has become a complete obsession. Her writing is so deep and her songs are so beautiful. My favorite album of hers so far. She is perfection in so many ways.

- Don’t buy it

I know I am a SWIFTE but this is not for kids only fortnight

- Taylor Swift TTPD

- Give it up for the TTPD, number 1 swift has something to say!

Taylor, I love this new album with all of my heart! It’s probably one of the best albums that come out in 2024! It’s poetic the way you write and sing it’s so beautifully! I was in the first time I listen to it. You did an amazing job and this is a very meaningful album that many people, including me, can relate to in life! Thank you so much for making music and sharing your voice with the whole world! I love Taylor Swift !

- This is the best album.

I am actually mad at General election this year cause because of that I could not relax and enjoy this song as I had to go to vote on the same day this album came out. I will forever hold that grudge over u Election. Can’t thank u enough. Taylor. It’s been a month and still the album feels so new cause there are 31 songs.

- WOW

I love this Album so my already. Now I can’t wait for Grammy 2025. It’s a masterpiece Story Telling and also the production was excellent

- She the best

Omg she done it again another fantastic album love her music x

- Good things come to those who wait

I waited to post a review on this album for two reasons 1) because I suspected it would take a number of listens to begin to separate and appreciate each song and therefore the album as a whole and 2) because having preordered the album only to find I’d lost out on owning the double album with twice the number of tracks for the same price had left a bitter taste in my mouth. I’m glad I waited 1) because now I can honestly say that the quality of the album is so outstanding that I’m already halfway to thinking it’s her finest album to date and 2) because I am way past caring on missing out on the additional tracks as the tracks that came with the original release are so good. All I can say to those who are disappointed on maybe their first or second listen is, wait, be patient, let the songs come to you and maybe like me you’ll become addicted to it.

- Her best album so far

I love the meaning behind the songs on the album and I love the production on this album 10/10

- Awful

No impressive vocals.

- She has outdone herself

This project is Taylor’s most vulnerable yet and I appreciate the honesty and superb lyricism. The melodies are art. Might be one of my favourites she has ever released! Highlights from the Original Track-list (I): My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys, But Daddy I Love Him, Guilty as Sin?, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived and loml. Highlights from The Anthology (II): I Hate It Here, The Black Dog, So High School, The Prophecy and Peter. AOTY.

- Overrated !

She’s absolutely awful ! STREAM AZEALIA BANKS

- Forgettable

Zzz

- Brilliance 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yet another reason TS is simply the best in her genre at the moment. Each song is a masterpiece of magical proportions.

- Belllaaaaaa

Amazing

- poetry

wow. this album truly comes straight from the deepest chasms of Taylor’s being. Beyond unique, the album is consistent in tone and composition, creating a hauntingly beautiful piece of art.

- meh

this is again we are dealing with the same style of music by Taylor, some of the songs are really catchy and have good lyrics but she really needs to start experimenting with different genres and lyrics!!!

- LOVE

Honestly her best album yet. No faults at all.

- Dreadful misery

Enough to give you mental health issues, god know plenty of tracks to push over the edge! What’s the hype about, she’s not the best song writer compared to Lennon and Mcartney or Bowie even ABBA Bjorn/Benny.

- Beautiful Album

There’s a bit of everything for everyone in this album. Can’t stop listening. Defo one of my faves.

- Just amazing

It got downloaded and it was just amazing

- Yawn!

Anyone else bored of her? Can’t open Instagram or other socials without seeing her face or hearing her music! 🥱🥱

- A masterpiece, if you give it a chance

You may hear people saying ‘all the songs sound the same’ this is quite simply not true. On first listen I wasn’t sure how to process, but after a couple more listens you realise each song offers something completely different and there are SO many songs that stand out as quite possibly, her best work and it becomes addictive. She is undoubtedly a poet- listen to ‘How did it end?’ And ‘The Albatross’. There’s something for everyone on this album, and you can’t group it into 1 genre. If you’ve only heard the more popular ones (on TikTok) don’t be fooled into thinking these represent the album as a whole. Incredibly misunderstood and unnecessarily hated artist and album. Give it a chance.

- Her best work yet

Up there with folklore and evermore

- Thanks Taylor for another amazing album!

This album is a masterpiece! Taylor Swift is a musical genius! One of the best female artists of all time. I love Fortnight with Post Malone! An amazing collaboration with another great artist. I also love these other tracks on the album, The Tortured Poets Department, with cool references to Dylan Thomas, Patti Smith & Charlie Puth. Love Down Bad, Florida! with Fabulous Florence Welsh, an amazing singer too. There are many more songs to listen to, this is one of the first albums I have felt inspired by. I have always enjoyed her music! I can’t understand why she gets so much hate when she is sharing her music with us. I look forward to more new songs in the future…

- We BnB jmmmismn n u B b u m N face ugly

- TTPD - all’s fair in love and poetry

Probably one of my favourite TS albums! Can’t stop listening. Gives you all the feels 🩶

- taylor new album

loved from star to finshed 😀

- Beautiful work

I love this album so much, it is really healing and it’s so good to see her expressing her feelings through what she loves so much and I love it too! Thank you Taylor, my queen 🩶🩶

- Omg!!

The best album ever I recommend 100%

- Not a fan.

I liked one or two songs in the past. Putting album after album out within a year or so is greedy. Album is boring. I’m getting sick of hearing her name.

- best album of all time

aoty here she comes

- Everything I wanted and more

Words escape me. A masterpiece!

- It’s not necessarily new

There seems to be a big divide in people over this album. Many fans love it, and are calling out haters for their own opinions, which is illegal. And then the haters are calling out the fans for liking it. It’s shambles. Personally, I think it is a very good album. It doesn’t matter if people are fans or not, anyone can have their opinions on music. TS’s album is very fitting for the title, and reminds me of Billie Eillish’s When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?. It has a sleepy and slow feeling to it. Only reason I put four stars? Midnights was better. (Just personally, everyone can have an opinion so don’t call people out)

- Meh

Meh

- what’s with the review bombing?

all the 1 stars are clearly people who haven’t actually listened to the album and are leaving bad reviews coz they dislike taylor. the album is actually quite good. the first half is similar to midnights but more in line with folklore and evermore in terms of lyricism, whereas the anthology half brings back the evermore sound with hints of folklore entirely - my personal favourite half. aaron and taylor’s work really shines through on this album. i’ve seen a lot of “this all sounds the same” comments which couldn’t be further from the truth. my boy only breaks his favourite toys sounds nothing like chloe or sam or sophia or marcus, which sounds nothing like so high school, which sounds nothing like so long london, etc etc. it’s very chill and relaxing and slow, so not for you if you dislike that. it’s not a perfect album, but no where near as bad as people are making it out.

- Dull

Really boring album I don’t get the hype

- Stunning and raw ✨

This is clearly a very vulnerable and raw album for Taylor. I love how it’s a mix of Folklore/Evermore and Midnights/Repuation. You get the poetic lyrics, and whimsical music, while still getting the ‘badass’ energy. I’m so glad to see Aaron Dessner working on this album, you know it’s going to be magical and heartbreaking and soul soothing, all in one. 🥹

- tortured ears department

genuinely the most boring and repetitive album i’ve ever listened to

- Always amazing

It’s Taylor swift, enough said!

- Amazing

It was literally worth staying up til 1 am just to see the fortnight music video 💚💛💜❤️💙🖤💖🤎🧡💙🤍

- Doesn’t live up to the hype

Not one stand out song.

- Swifte fan

Love all the songs especially the black dog

- Boring

There’s nothing to it. So dull and boring.

- i love love loveee this new era!!! 😍😍

Omggg personally this is amazing and no one can say otherwise. Ppl writing “no good vocals, sloppy production, sounds repetitive, worst album” just listen to it again and lmk if u still feel the same way. Actually don’t bc i really don’t care lol 🤍

- Super good

It’s fantastic would recommend. Great songs for all sorts of people.

- Disappointing

I am so glad that I am not the only person felt the songs all sound the same/similar. After sitting with the album for a while I now like a lot of the songs but can’t help but feel that this was a missed opportunity for a good album lol. No song really stands out, I am hoping that maybe the negative reviews will steer the next album into a better direction (like where are the enchanted, style, back to December, getaway car etc type stand out tracks? It’s like an extension of midnights she needs to work with someone else at this point…).

- Boring

Same melody for 4 albums now

- Don’t waste you’re time or money

Every song sounds the same, nothing stands out vocally or musically. The Taylor Swift hype is very much much overrated. Her songs are all instantly forgettable. Just don’t bother. Very disappointed in this, seems Taylor is banging any rubbish out for the money now.

- untalented

untalented u hate my billie 😶‍🌫️

- Amazing

Her best work

- Dross

Talentless BIMBO

- Awful Artist, awful record and an awful fanbase

Overhyped and talentless. Fans are part of a cult which makes this artist even worse. The album is again, dross. No idea how she’s so famous other than there cultist fans giving her fame from social media and obsessing over someone who doesn’t even know them and idolising someone just because she looks like the girl next door whose waiting for the soccer player to take her to prom. Taylor swift fans should grow up and get out of their teeny bopper heads, this album and all her records are so self indulgent it’s as sickening as slurping up a honey pot after brushing your teeth. I suspect Apple won’t allow freedom or speech as they are probably paid by Taylor swift to stop these types of reviews that speak the truth. I guess if Apple don’t post this review it proves we live in a right wing capitalist western world.

- But disappointed....

Ok this album is nice but it is slow there is almost NO high notes in the end of the song like she used to do. The songs are kinda boring tbh there are no songs that are Alive songs (Like songs to dance to)

- Typical Taylor

All songs sound the same which seems to becoming the new trend for Taylor. The only reason it’s popular is because the fans don’t know good music and are more like a cult that follow her every move.

- Not very good.

For so many songs there are no great ones, seems like her first couple of albums were her best.
