This album is pretty good as was it a good start for Michael in solo music. "Don't Stop" had a prefect beginning to draw the listener in before the music starts. Most of the tracks have a good dancing feel to them (espically Get on the Floor, Don't Stop, Off the Wall, and Burn this Disco out) but three of the tracks make good for some slow momments. A good album with songs you could have played at a dance and a start for Michael in solo music.

I have everything that he did from the J5 stuff to his last album when he was alive(Invincible). This IS his most cohesive album & Quincy's best work producing him. I love "Thriller" too, but remember the other aspects of his talents(his dancing, the Motown 25 performance,the videos,etc)gave the Thriller album the extra fuel to boost the incredible sales that he achieved. But if you're a student of his music,this is his "Magnum Opus"...

I still have the original vinyl album of this and this is probably still my favorite and by the way iTunes that wasn't how the original album cover looked

This album is timeless, as is all of MJs recordings. Michael himself is timeless. Everything he touched turned to gold. Why must these iTunes quacks write such bias and untrue & negative album information? Corny ballad? Fake crys? Michaels emotion in every song ever recorded since he was 5 years old is nothing short of REAL EMOTION! Something every single other artist lacks. If it's from Michael, it's the real deal. The people know that... no matter what the media tries to say about the remarkable man. God Bless. This album is amazing.

"Off the Wall" album by Michael Jackson is literally a masterpiece! I'm no music producer or professional but I'm pretty sure those who are would agree with the beauty and perfect of this album. His voice is timeless, the music is pristine and the mood/feeling each song evokes is pure bliss! I was no where near born or even thought of in 1979, when this album was released but it's effect me life and an so glad by parents were wise enough to expose me to Mj's music! May the music, memories and magic of Michael Jackson live on through time! Xoxoo, ACA

This is Michael's finest solo work. Without this album there would be no Thriller, Bad or Dangerous.

From the upbeat love ballad of "Rock With You" to the moving and uplifting liveliness of "Off The Wall" to the smooth sadness of "She's Out Of My Life", Michael covers all bases of human emotion and immerses you into the memories of those moments of your life. This album is a true winner and masterpiece; one of the best in music history.

Okay, I just had to get that off my chest. I grew up with this album, which when I had it was on LP and cassette and had the REAL version of "Rock With You" without all the annoying claps in the single version which all but demolish the smooth beauty of the original. Suddenly, ever since CDs came into being, EVERY VERSION of this otherwise excellent album INSISTS on replacing it with the annoying single version! Why REPLACE it? Why not just include the Single Version as a bonus track?? It has now been quarter of a century and I have yet to locate the original version ANYWHERE on ANY compilation of MJ. iTunes, are you LISTENING? Can you PLEASE get that track out, please?

I love this album

Early this morning, I was enjoying the "classic R&B" music channel featured as part of a package my local cable carrier offers. I'm a child of the eighties. Michael Jackson was and is still to this very day, an important, significant, gifted performer. It saddens me, you kno, his tragic, untimely passing. When this song came on I couldn't believe I had never heard it! It was the missing piece in my collection of the 80's Michael Jackson music. Solid. Groovable. Love it.

All I can say is that this album deserves more recongnition!!!!! Whenever I ask someone if they have heard of "Off The Wall", they say no. It's quite shocking to me! The hits that make you want to bust a move include "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough", "Workin' Day And Night", "Off The Wall", along with my personal favorite "Rock With You"! Overall this is MJ's second best album and has plenty of hits. Although "Thriller" may be his keyword, "Off The Wall" is still legendary and is what started off the incredible solo career of the one of the greatest musicians ever: Michael Jackson himself!!!!!!!!!!!

It is amazing that when I hear "It's the falling in love," that I can see Patrick Swazye and Jennifer Grey having the time of their lives. I haven't checked if Jennifer Warren wrote this song and used it ten years later,but music is a business where pieces are taken here and there to make it seem new. As one member of the Eagles said that he was surprised that Harold Melvin haven't sued them by turning his song into "Take it to the limit." So it happens alot.

It is simple! Yes thriller is one of the greatest albums aver sold, and Bad was just as good. But Off the Wall was a coming of age of Michael. But if you want to really hear the debut album for Michael Jackson, listen to The Jacksons- Destiny album...

God Bless you Michael Jackson, rest in peace. Three years ago I got this album and I was so excited to have his album because it was the same summer he passed away:( , but anyway I loved and enjoyed this album it's a classic.

Off the Wall was the first album that I bought with my own money as a kid. That album made me love Michael Jackson even more. This album started it all.

I have the CD Off the Wall but I just want to have the songs on the go!!! So once I get more money I will go strait to iTunes and buy this album! Michael Jackson RIP Every one who writes this after their rating should have the honor of spelling his whole name out!

Wow, what can i say, EVERY SINGLE on here is ICONIC. Quincy Jones & Rod Temperton did their respective things!! My faves, "Girlfriend" the title cut & "Rock with You" for starters. Highly imressive you don't realize how iconic the lp is until years later ( in this case, 35 years later)

Bests Thriller but only by millimeters. This CD will make you dance. Beautifully arranged music and carefully written lyrics. Stands the test of time as it celebrated its 35th birthday.
