- Treat for FM fans

The acoustic version of GYOW is worth the price of the cd alone. Awesome. We love you Lindsey. Please release Buckingham Nicks.

- Stunning!

He's the Brian Wilson of my generation. Tortured, Brilliant, Mad Genius with unmatched talent! Can't wait to see the live show and hear the follow up!

- UNDER THE SKIN

What can you say...Lindsey is one of the best guitarist out there for the past 20+ yrs. and one heck of a talented songwriter. Great CD, & great to see him back in the studio!

- Under the Skin

Good Album. Enjoy his unique sound and reminds me of the good old days. I-tunes is great too, living in Negril, Jamaica this is the only way I can find out the latest releases and was pleasantly surprised to know that Lindsay made a new album. I have nothing to complain about.

- Top 10 Worst Albums Ever!

This album is proof that Stevie and Mick are the heart and sould of Fleetwood Mac. Lindsey just can't get it done without them. He's always been a little weird, but this is just too much. So Lindsey, next time you think about putting an album together, don't forget to give your friends a call.

- Not what people want to hear....

Lindsey should go back and listen to the album he did with Stevie back in the '70s (Buckingham/Nicks), and maybe then he'll understand why we loved his voice and guitar so much. He is an incredible talent, but in my experience, most of his solo stuff doesn't bowl me over (yet I keep waiting and wanting for that to happen!).

- I love Lindssey, but, this solo effort screams for the fleetwood mac

Mr. Buckingham's latest effort echoes his triumphant acoustic only reimaginings from Fleetwood Mac's "The Dance" cd, but, falls short of capturing the true emotion that he is so famous for when he has the band altogether. Not his best solo cd, but not weak either. If you are a mega fan..you will not be dissapointed. If you were hoping for something better...well, this is not it.

- I think Lindseys in trouble!

I had difficulty listening for 30 seconds to every song!

- Something worth looking into

Lindsey Buckingham always wanted to just make his music, hone his craft, and do what he did best. There isn't one instance anywhere on this record where the listener can say he didn't do those things. Each song showcases his gloriously intricate guitar work without all sounding the same. The melodies are beautiful and some of the layers are just quirky enough to reminisce of bygone "Tusk"-era Mac tunes. Some other of Lindsey's talents, his manipulation of sound and voice as well as his attention to detail, round out the things on this album that make it all his own. The title track, "Under the Skin" with "Down on Rodeo", Show You How", and "To Try for the Sun" were some of the standout favorites of mine. Though there are no fast paced hard rockers here, there is enough to satisfy the ears of listeners wanting to hear what Lindsey's been up to. Any fan of this man and his work will not be disappointed at all with any purchase here. Either the songs seperately or all together make for an enjoyable listening experience.

- The Man Is Back!!!

This has to be, hands down, some of Lindsey's greatest work outside of Mac. The melody's are excellent and the harmonies are breath-taking. A thoroughly enjoyable piece from start to finish for any die-hard Buckingham or Fleetwood Mac fan, with lots of emphasis on everything the man does best....quick strings and that legendary wail. Enjoy!!

- Fantastic

Awesome album from a great artist! Enough said.

- Love Lindsey but miss Stevie

Keep rockin Lindsey!

- Production and voice GONE. Guitar LEFT.

Yes, Lindsey's voice is shot. That was clear eversince hearing the first song on 2003's "Say You Will". Perhaps it's admirable that he doesn't try to hide this fact with his usual production layers. But really, without the PRODUCTION THRILLS, the only thing that's left is his guitar playing. And Lindsey is a GREAT STYLIST, but not only. Great musicians tend to not loose their technical ability with age, but technical skills alone don't make for great art either. With this stripped-down affair, he let's go of his greatest other asset: his abilty to create UNUSUAL, yet catchy soundscapes. So, what's the point of releasing a showcase for your guitar-skills when you have so much more to offer? And the songs themselves aren't strong enough to be left so undressed. Am I selfish for wanting Lindsey to give us his best? Why am I writing this review anyway? Because I'm still looking forward to next year's "amplified" Lindsey CD... Btw: shame about that TASTEFUL, but BORING, middle-of-the-road cover art too!

- A few gems only...

A fan of Lindsey's for quite some time, I'm a little disappointed with this effort. But let me clarify something else first: there is nothing even remotely "techno-pop" about this (please, reviewer, get your terms straight); one reviewer dislikes Buckingham's work, so you have to ask why even post a review? Okay, enough of taking other reviewers to task. While there are threads of interesting work here, don't look for "songs" -- many of these are close to being sonic landscapes. "Down on Rodeo" is probably the most commercially viable (although that doesn't seem to be Buckingham's goal ever) but pieces such as "It Was You" and "Not Too Late" pretty much lead...nowhere. I appreciate Buckingham's experimentation and individuality, but I'm left lukewarm by this efffort. Oh, and Lindsey, please bring back the drums....

- Buckingham back in stellar form

Lindsey is a top notch artist who continues to refine his music in the most credible way. I've been waiting for the release of Under The Skin impatiently. Buckingham is a living legend!!! It's been sometime since I bought an artists complete cd and listed from start to finish. Do yourself a favor and buy the tangable cd from a store and then kick back and enjoy the splender. This is the happiest birthday for Lindsey and his fans; this is his best work yet!!! Can't wait to see Lindsey on tour! I was born the same year as Tusk;ATTA BOY Liddy Buck; can't wait for the follow up cd in 2007.

- It's About Time

Lindsey.. THANK YOU! Long wait, all worth it. Those who loved Out of the Cradle will rejoice. So nice to hear that guitar work again my friend! Vocals....impeccable, mix....beautiful. Thank you! Lovely....really....just beautiful!

- oh please

I think the one star raters are a little harsh. Maybe you've been listening to a little too much timberlake, spears, jz or something. Each song is very melodic and quite beautiful, and some are a little; GASP! odd. Oh no! I better give it one star because it doesn't rehash his old stuff. Jesus, expand your horizon.

- A real stink-o. His voice is shot. Look for this in the 99 cent bin.

A real stink-o. His voice is shot. Look for this in the 99 cent bin at your local CD store. Sorry Lindsey

- Beauty is skin deep...and talent is to the bone.

I am amazed that Lindsey could have "Gift of Screws" all but ready for release and then plunder it for a Fleetwood Mac album (not the first time this happened for him), but still manage to produce a full album of incredible music and lyrics that hang together as a complete work of art. SGCYM is my favorite track - perhaps since it was my favorite off the GoS album. Down on Rodeo flows. SYH is a bit off-putting at first but then becomes infectious. The honesty of NTL to open the album is very forth-coming and emotive. Lindsey is a genius. It doesn't matter if he sells one album or a million. This may be the best pop album of the entire year. Do not miss a listen.

- Sad

I'm sorry. Really. I have loved Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey for over 30 years. I tried to listen to this. It was difficult. I think it sounded like someone trying to make a new album who just has horrible writers block (and music block). I really wanted to like this. I have over 40 songs on my ipod of fleetwood mac and lindsey. The song Hypnotized (sp?) is a song I listened to over 100 times. I bought a guitar and played along with lindsey throughout my 20's. I sat through a stupid Tina Turner concert just to see Lindsey. Trust me on this one. SAD.

- Huh?

What on EARTH was Lindsey thinking? Techno-pop Lindsey? Please...someone kick me back into reality and say this ISN'T an album. This is terrible.

- Good Album

I've listened to this album all day. I just like it. It's like he has nothing to prove. It's different. The people who write reviews like "Where is Stevie" need mental help. They just want Lyndsey to make another Fleetwood Mac album. It's just sickening.

- Worth the Wait

My only complaint about the album is that there's not enough of it. He's got some career best work here, including Under the Skin, Show You How and Down on Rodeo. These songs are instant classics. As delicious as the two cover songs he does ("I Am Waiting" and "To Try for the Sun") are, I wish he'd included more of his own written material. The only song on this album that I don't consider stellar is "Flying Down Juniper". The music to that is fine, but I just can't stand the lyrics. I want to distance myself from that mushiness of flying children. Other than that, I have not separated myself from this cd since I bought it. Lindsey non-stop.

- YUCK

I skip most of his songs on Fleetwood Mac Albums, This CD doesn't leave anything to play! "It's not that playable is it"?

- UNDER THE SKIN comes straight from the heart

...Hypnotic, acoustic, pure and true. Lindsey Buckingham offers us another fine collection of impossible harmonies, vocal textures and distinctive melodies that recall what music-making was like before cynicism and playlist radio. John McVie and Mick Fleetwood join Lindsey on a couple of tracks, including a live take of "Go Your Own Way". "I Am Waiting" is a gorgeous rendition of the Richards/Jagger tune.

- Worth the wait.

This is the caliber of song writing that inspires me. Lindsey has outdone himself. Masterful guitar, wonderful arrangements. This is one sophisticated cat. I for one and lapping it up.

- Exactly the album he needed to make

I've always been drawn to Lindsey's music for two reasons -- his impeccable production and his distinctive guitar work (how many hands does he have, anyway?). "Under The Skin" highlights both of these elements in equal and stunning measure. No one sounds like Lindsey Buckingham and this is his best batch of (solo) songs yet.

- Nothing Short of Amazing!!!

Do you know what this guy has done in the past five years? He did a three year world tour with Fleetwood Mac, came right off of that, released an album and went on a solo tour. You have to appreciate that the man has the passion for the music. This album should be viewed as an expresion of Lindsey. His talent is strong and will continue to effortlessly stand on it's own. He outdoes lots of rockers half his age!

- Great album

Lindsey once again shows his great talent. It just shows that he has always been the glue that held Fleetwood Mac together. I have been a big fan of his solo work and he has made me an even bigger fan after hearing this great new album. I look forward to more solo work from him.

- Lindsey, not fleetwood mac

Lindsey Buckingham's solo album is much different from fleetwood mac, not to say that I am very surprised. When I heard Lindsey was coming out with another solo album I figured it was going to be a little on the weirder side. Either way Lindsey is an amazing guitarist and this is shown in most of his work, but if you were looking for something like Fleetwood Mac this is not really the same thing.
