Thanks to a girl who stood me up twice (I should have got the picture the first time around but after falling in love with Sevendust I thought it was only fair to get to know the person who introduced me), I now know and love Sevendust (the better end of the deal). This album absolutely rocks. Like the other reviews imply, this is a band with albums that have the best, most individually-fantastic songs in the world.

I first got into Sevendust big time when seasons came out. I've been a huge fan ever since, and this cd does not disappoint ! A must buy !

Just came out a few weeks ago and I love it so much better then there last still heavy but nothing beats there first album

They've done it again, another awesome cd. I would say this one is the most aggressive out of the bunch and I'm loving it. Plenty of passion and emotion in each song especially "Clueless", "Under", and "Driven". If you ever get the chance to see these guys live take it!

First of all let me start out by saying I love Sevendust.....I have since there first album! I purchased this with blind faith. It is very very hard (which I like) but all the songs are the same. All the beats, the time and the guitar is all the same. He has a great voice but he doesn't let us hear it in this album because there is to much yelling. I hope there next one will have some variety. I wished I had only bought Driven that is my favorite song because it is the best song on the album.

The new album Alpha is great. This is probably their best album ever. The band has definitely gone back to the stuff that made them such an awesome band! They continue to show fantastic musicianship and creativity. The songs reflect their moods and feelings after the many things they have had to deal with. Music that comes from within is always the best. Deathstar, Driven, Suffer, and Beg To Differ are my favorites on this album; but believe me, the rest of the tracks are also just as good. And to top it all off, they love and respect their fans! I got a chance to meet them in Atlanta a week ago at a promotion. I got there as they were leaving and were already supposed to be gone, and they came back out for a few of us who had got there late and still signed more autogrpahs and took pictures with all of us. Rock on Sevendust! Alpha is definitely your new beginning!

One band you can always count on for album production. One of my favorite bands and if they stay along the same track they will continue to be. Excellent album! Keep'em coming SD!

Basically the only song that I like from this album is "Driven." The others aren't horrible but kinda annoying. My favorite 7D album is Seasons. Hell, Next is even better than Alpha.

I am a huge fan of Sevendust's first album. Each album following thier debut seemed to lack that same hard driven anger. It seemed as if they were looking for more radio play and a wider fan base. As this trend continued, I found that every album after the first seemed to contain less of what thier early loyal fans appreciated. Not the case with Alpha! This album is just as good as the first if not better. Every song contains those blistering riffs and double bass that made Sevendust. As a fan that lost touch due to disappointment, Alpha has brought me back to a band that found thier roots. This is a GREAT album!

I picked up this CD the day it came out, I am a huge fan of Sevendust and this to me is for sure their strongest album yet. It's sad to say that not many people know who Sevendust is but with them throwin down an album like this, everyone should know who they are. everyone who has heard of them and heard their music is a huge fan, at least that i know of. This is definantly a work of art by a great band. So I recomend you purchase it.

I really hate to write a review blowing up a Sevendust album but I can't help it, this album is horrible. Gone are the days of heavy with melody for Sevedust. Now it's nothing but noise for twelve tracks. While I've always appreciated that Sevendust was heavy, the fact that they still had hooks in their tunes really made them stand out from the many drop tuned hard rock bands. This album is the same guitar riff over and over again and Morgan Rose screams constantly about absolutely nothing. This album reminds me of a bad garage band who got a hold of some recording gear. Don't buy it!

not bad for this band. the past few albums have been a bit sing-songy, not much power. this one has plenty of punch. the band finally starts getting back into the power groove stuff i crave. worth the ten bucks.

Morgan Rose is the best drummer of his time and he not only drums but busts out some sweet screams during most of there songs. lajon witherspoon is fricken ripped and is an awesome lead vocals. there guitarists, john vinnie and clint combined make an awesome deep sound. this is the most underated band ever

Sevendust is a great band who makes great albums. Unfortunatly, luck hasn't been on their side. With this album, hopefully they can get where they belong; the top of the charts!

The first time I heard Sevendust was on Test Drive Off-road on the PS1... Black was one of the songs in the game and I wondered and wondered who it was because it was always stuck in my head... When I found out who it was I became an instant fan... This album in particular shows how far they have come in 10 years. Now I won't claim to be a musical genius but this album seems to be one of if not the best collection of songs this band has ever produced. My fiancé and I were at the Sevendust concert in Houston 2 days before this CD hit shelves and from the moment I walked out of it I knew it was going to be amazing... Thanks for doing what you are doing Sevendust... You are among Rock's elite and I must say that you deserve every bit of praise you get for this one!

I haven't listened to these guys that long but when this album came out, I thought they were one of todays top artist. If people have only listened to Driven, and they like it, then I think that they will really like the whole album. A song that this band was famous for that played on the radio a lot was Bi*ch. I would recommend Sevendust to any true rocker and go see a concert or two.

I can make this real simple. Im a fan from the beginning and this ladies and gentlemen is their best album yet!! I have already seen them live on this tour and seeing them 2 more times in the next 45 days and the Alpha songs shine! Songs 1-9 are instant Sevendust classics!

Now this is the Sevendust I grew to love!

I will admit that after Next, I was worried that the band changeup had taken away what I liked most about sevendust: the epic scale. It was all chugging with no direction, and never quite took off into clutch moments. This is the album i was hoping for since Animosity first sunk it's claws into me. The aggression is less raw and more focused, ramming it's way into your brain and forcing the head to bang. Highly recommended

I will make this short and sweet. If you are here and you are reading this then you know how good this band is. For you original fans, image the first album on steriods. For those of you who jumped on later, you prove that rock still has hope. If this is your first time looking at Sevendust, this might just be the best album ever. If you like it I highly recommend the album before this one Next. Otherwise download this album and press play. Honestly, you will find that you will never skip a song. Sevendust, if you are reading this, ROCK ON BABY!!!

I own four Sevendust cds and this is certainly the best. Many previous sound just the same, good but lacking variety. Some might say that this record is no different, but I think it is. It is more agressive and rhythms are varied more here than between the Animosity, Seasons, and Next albums. Clueless is a wonderful use of the deeper tone of Lajon's voice, as seen on Praise (Animosity), and has a beautifully almost exotic bass line. Deathstar, Beg to Differ, and Alpha highlight an even harder, edgier Sevendust than we've seen before. My undisputed favorite is Under for the traditional melody of Lajon's voice and creepy distorted background vocals and generally being the best composition of old and new. Other Sevendust albums grew on me fast and also tired fast. I've had this album since March and have been listening to it non-stop, without any tiring.

DEATHSTAR...great opening song, heavy, loud and angry...sets a nice tone for the rest of the cd CLUELESS...i love this song, cuz of the misleading softer beginning! Actually one of the heavier songs on ALPHA...great vocals and speedy riffs DRIVEN...was completely blown away by this song ever since i first heard it on the radio, i honestly expected it would be the best one on the album, ironically i was wrong...kick arss guitars, vocals and backing vocals FEED...awesome song with sick double bass drums, and i feel one of the best sevendust breakdowns(...listen to the last 15 secs of the song FIRST) SUFFER...clearly my fav. on the album, classic sevendust chunk riffs..sounds similar to 'Rumble Fish' or 'Face To Face' BEG TO DIFFER...also one of my favorites on the album, great guitar work...brutal breakdown UNDER...powerful song with amazing vocals, drums, guitar and extremely catchy song STORY OF YOUR LIFE...if u like the 'old school' sounding sevendust truely the song for you, Brutal and Angry, great backing vocals by morgan in this one! HEAVY AS Fckk, Insane breakdown!! CONFESSIONS OF HATRED...another brutally heavy and yet melodic song, great pulsating bass throughout...prob. one of the most angry and beautiful songs on the cd AGGRESSION...the break song on the cd, slow but still heavy...technically an awesome song! BURN...a long very misleading song, starts off very slow almost like an instrumental...but blows up right in your face! Definitely the longest 7D song at 9+ min ALPHA...incredible closing song, unbelievable drums and guitar riffs...awesome backing vocals and chunk riffing by john and sonny!this song total shredss!

You can never, ever, EVER go wrong with more Sevendust. Plain and simple. :)

Alpha is amazing! Its not a shock to anyone who has been listening to 7D from the start. Six epic records and their great live. Hopefully, this is the year Sevendust conquers the airwaves.

I dont know if it gets much better than this but this album has got to be one of the best. Any Sevendust fan will really appreciate this album. Not for the weak at heart!

To get to the point, as an avid listener to Rock and even more so Sevendust, this is one of their best, and as Morgan claimed "I am most pround of this album." Hard hitting tracks, excellent talent in all aspects including Vinnie on Bass, L.J. on vocals, Sonny and John on guitar, and former Drummer of the year Morgan. Not only are the riffs and tracks hard hitting, the lyrics have great meaning behind them. These guys are for real, and when I met them in person, I can say that they are some of the greatest and most humbled guys I have ever met. Do yourself a favor and listen to this music!

I had heard their previous music, but i never really like them. I downloaded Driven and i must say, that is one of the best songs i've heard in a while.

I love sevendust, remain one of my favorite bands of all time. However ever since animosity i feel they have taken backward steps. That CD showed a band that wasnt just heavy it was GREAT musically. I havent seen that since then. Dont get me wrong this is a good CD but not what i was hoping for from them. Alot like Next.

I'm a huge Sevendust fan and I'm a little disapointed. The last album "Next" was better, but that album is one of the best. You can't expect them to meet or exceed that. This album has a couple really good singles, but alot of "fillers" i would call them. I'm sure they will all grow on me (of course).

This is Sevendust's best album in a while. Their previous one "Next" seemed very rushed, less focused, and pales in comparison to Alpha. They bring back the heavy and still maintain the gorgeous melodies that define their sound, and also manage to throw in some pleasant surprises (namely Burn and Story of Your Life). LJ's vocals just seem to get better and better, and yet he revisits some of the brutal vocalizations of their first two albums. I used to believe that "Seasons" was their most well-written, polished and impressive album...but I think this one probably jumps ahead. A must have for hardcore Sevendust fans and unfamiliar hardrockers alike.

Another great album by this great groundbreaking band. Without all the airplay and press coverage of other bands and artists, Sevendust is able to keep fans loyal and bring others from across the genre spectrum. A great all around album

This is by far the best Sevendust album in a long time. I would even go as far to say that this album is right up there with "Home". It is now one of my favorite albums. I love "Alpha" from beginning to end. Every track is solid. If you like Sevendust, even just alittle bit, do yourself a favor and get this album. Once you hear it, you'll love them!!!

This album is pretty heavy, but it retains their signature sound. They are one of the premier hard rock groups of our generation. I have hung out with many of the bands in this genre and they ALL look up to Sevendust as leaders in the genre. This record is fantabulous!

I discovered Sevendust with Seasons, and I have not been able to stop listening since. Alpha is a nearly flawless album. The balance of aggression and passion is perfect. On the surface, many of the tracks seem to be too much screaming and have too little depth, but give it time. The magnificence will sink in. They did it again!

Way to go Sevendust! I have to admit I was hesitant at first but the more and more I listened the more and more it grew on me. Can't wait to see them in concert in Phoenix!

Im a jazz major and i really like sevendust. from a musicianship standpoint, im not sure why i like them, but it doesnt always have to be that way. id be lying if i said they didnt have good melodies and lyrics. id even go as far to say that sevendust is pracitcally the only modern day opitome of a rock band, but the truth is i hear so much of "animosity" in each of these songs that "alpha" is just a rendering of "animosity". i guarentee if you listen to the two albums back to back you will hear such similarities in the guitar riffs and vocal melodies. i like it, but sevendust needs to look for the next step.

I have been a long time sevendust fan and must say that after the release of their album "Next", I thought that maybe sevendust was losing their edge. Understandably, I was reluctant to give this album a chance. I am extremely happy that I did!!! Alpha is by far the BEST Sevendust album to date! It's starts off with it's pounding "Deathstar" and doesn't ever stop!!! Good to the last drop! The whole album is classic. Among my favorites are "Clueless", "Feed", and "Beg to differ".

after all these years, sevendust haven't changed one bit. all they've been doing is recycling their music, just like the rest of the music industry. although they keep pumping out the same tunes, and not evolving as a band, there are fans out there that connect with this certain type of sound and I'll admit, Sevendust does it quite well, and have created their own unique style. but its too bad it hasn't changed in over ten years. im tired of listening to the same tune over and over again with these guys. its really sad to see a band just churn out the same material over and over again. i mean, how brainwashed and stupid has this musical society gotten over the years???...

If you are a sevendust fan buying this shouldnt be a question. Great vocals and great music. Out of all their albums I havent come across a bad album yet, This trend continues as this is another great album

Sevendust still remains to create another album that is completely awesome. They are one of the few bands that still rock and don't go soft.

First off, i have only been listening to Sevendust since the Next Album was put out, and i believe they took this one to a new level, i have read many review and some complain that the music sounds the same, but i think if u would acutally listen to the lyrics you would find a message in each song that can touch you some how and make u realize that this has happened to you before, the music also pumps you up!
