itunes did not censor this album. We own this on cd and it is also censored, thats the way it was recorded from when they were more careful about what people said. It is still a good album though, Johnny Cash is one of my favorite artists.

I was wondering why "I won't back Down" isn't on any of the albums?

Yes this album is censored but as Johnny Cash got older he did not use curse words and would not sing the expletives anymore. So if you need that in the songs don't buy the album but this is the way he would be singing them if he were still with us.

Glad we have reviews on here. Why can't they offer a censored and uncensored version side by side so we can pick what we prefer?

Yes I didn't read about the censorship part also and will more picker when buying from iTunes again. Also I learned how to load my own CDs on to my iphone and Mac computer and that is where I going first from now on before I waste good hard earned monies here again.

If anyone has been able to find Johnny Cash uncensored anywhere on iTunes, I would very much obliged.

Because johhny ment everything he sang about. And what said in the uncensored songs is the same as these .I personally love them all now. I think you should acctually listen to the words and stop crying over some bad words being taken out...!!!

You can't call an album (live) when you censor peices of the song and if your smart enough to know what your buying you'll know there's cussing in the song in the 1st places it's not on the radio so leave it alone censored version= stupid!

Don't get too hung up on the censorship on "Boy Named Sue". The BEEP is so old school it almost adds to the feel of the song. This is an incredible selection of some of the greatest songs in country and rock history. If you're new to Johnny, this is the best $17 you can spend.

i hate censored songs just as much as the next guy you cant censor johnny cash its like taking a dump on his grave you wouldnt do that would you? no unless if you were wierd or something

I purchased "A Boy Named Sue" to add to a video I'm making and I didn't realize it was a censored version of the song. Completely worthless purchase. Is S.O.B. really all that bad? Maybe it is. iTunes should mark this album as Explicit as there's no way to know that this album has been censored.

It's a great album with his best songs. Why is everyone crying about a few words that aren't there? It's about his music and the passion he put into it. I agree with Charliebos1234, no reason to dislike it cause one swear word isn't there.

my grandma loved country music, and of course, Johnny Cash was her favorite. she passed away a while ago and they had a movie on tv about him called "Walk the Line". I wish she was here to listen to this
