This cd is incredible. It really shows the musicianship that Reynolds and Matthews have. Both are incredible musicians, but when they play together, something happens, You can tell just by hearing it. They do beautiful renditions of Bartender, Crash Into Me and When the World Ends. Those are my favorites off the record. But this cd is essential for Matthews fans of all eras. From the casual fan to the hardcore listener, this release should most definitely be in your collection

Dave perfected all the old and tweaked some of the new with this one! Paired with a great GREAT talent in Mr. Tim Reyolds. Big fan for 12+ years now and this one has me mesmerized...instant favorite forever no doubt about it.

This is probably one of the best albums that I have ever heard. It may be hard for many traditional DMB fans to get used to familiar songs without the added rhythm and instrumentation, but this is great music for the DMB faithful and people new to Dave Matthews. Some of the old songs (especially from Crash) are almost recreated into new songs - and Matthews' solo stuff is more impressive here than on Some Devil. The amazing thing is how two guitars can make such a full sound. Also, Matthews' voice seems to be stronger than on other studio records. At any rate, this is absolutely high quality work in every respect.

I am a HUGE DMB fan. 90% of the music on my ipod is Dave Matthews in some form or another. This album is by far the best-the quality is amazing. I HEART DMB!!!

I love the album, but I bought it through the DMB pre-order a couple years back. I wish I would've gotten it here though, to get the stone and ants marching. The bonus tracks that the pre-order included are pretty lame, including a SECOND version of Crash. That's nice if you're a sorority girl, but you can only hear that song once in a while if you know what I mean...

The idea of writing a review for an album is simply a matter of showing one's opinion of the album, and rather or not one believes that someone should buy this album. With this in mind, I am a Dave Matthews fan who has listened throughout the many years that they have been creating music... I believe that this album takes the music of Dave Matthews band down to its roots. Lyrics and the guitar. For the cost of 13 dollars, you have an interesting twist to Dave Matthew's music. I believe that the two musicians have loosened up ( since Live at Luther College) and allowed the music to take control of them. When listening to this Cd, you forget about the 13 dollars spent. You begin to get lost in the balance between the chaotic playing of Tim Reynolds and the almost calming sound of Dave's singing. If you want a good unique album, then buy this album.

I have always liked DMB; but after watching this concert on HDNET one night; I was absolutely blown away. It litterally changed my whole perception of musical genius; raw emotion, spirituality and passion. I have seen many many concerts in my lifetime and I listen to music with a passion but I have never heard something this impressive. Worth every single penny you spend. One day I hope to see them LIVE.

I must say this was an absolutly amazing performance. I was lucky enough to see them play out here in Hawaii and literally almost brought me to tears as it did many people surrounding me. For 2 hours all your problems in the world fade and for a short time at least you are happy. Tim reynolds might just be the best accoustic guitar player in the world i challenge anyone to name someone more talented. The DVD is amazing just watching him play on a close up and it blows your mind the skills it takes to do that. Have someone try and pull that off even on guitar hero would be an accomplishment.

From Chicago to Phoenix to San Diego, I've been seen Dave eight times -- twice with Tim Reynolds. This is by far the best concert. In addition to the iTunes audio copy, I have the concert on BluRay. Every time I watch it (loud and in a dark room) I feel like I'm at a concert (minus the smell of pot and spilled beer). If you only own one Dave album/CD/etc, this is the one to have.

In my opinion by far the best live album ever recorded the performance they delivered is fantastic i would have given anything to be able to go to that show.

I had played guitar for 6 years by the time I purchased this album. In the year that followed after hearing this album, my entire style of playing the instrument changed. Dave and Tim know their instrument intimately and give a real-life definition of what it means to play guitar together. I am also a big DMB fan, and these songs are just as good, and in some cases better, than the originals. This is the best album I have ever bought. No exceptions. If you are a guitarist, buy this album. It will change the way you play.

The only thing out there in the world of music is the dvd. And the only thing better than that, is the Blu Ray DVD.

As a Dave Matthews fan, I have to say, I was completely blown away with this album, not the mention, the price was right. Songs like The Maker, Down By the River, and Oh, really show how complimentary Dave and Tim can be to each other. It's a must have if you're a Dave fan.

great album i love DMB; but i heard the saxofonist died. Is this true?

Every song on this album is worth the price. It will put shivers down your spine...especially crash into me and two step...now that i think of it, they all do.

Over 7400 songs on my Ipod and counting and these songs remain some of my absolute favorite and probably always will. The raw emotion throughout this whole disc is unparelleled and Dave and Tim work their magic together like they always do. Few albums make me feel like this one does, with some especially powerful moments throughout when they really are connecting.

This album leaves me speechless. It's absolutely gorgeous. Dave and Tim have a magic that is unbeatable. The guitar sound is unmatchable. It's a nice mix of hits, but then different beautiful stuff. Dave has a pure falsetto that is to die for. Worth the money.

Okay, love DMB, love Dave solo, love Dave and Tim playing these shows, but seriously; Tim is too good of a guitarist for some of the racket he makes on this recording; my main beef is with his minutes-long one note 'solo' on the jam portion of lie in our graves - he just keeps hitting one dang note the WHOLE FRIGGIN TIME. Monotonous to say the least, and grating on the ears. If you are like me, I like to burn one down while I write (I'm an author) and listen to dave and tim sessions, but this high-pitched stuff drvies me crazy. But there are bright spots; down by the river, grace is gone, stay or leave, eh hee. Buy it only if you really need more than you found on dave & tim live at luther in 96.

You always know that when Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds get together that it is gonna be amazing, but amazing just isn't a good enough word to describe this album, just awesome, turn off the lights, close your eyes and get lost in this music.

This is a fantastic acoustic CD, and 28 songs for $13 isn't bad either. For those who haven't heard Tim's song "Betrayal," it will absolutely blow you away. The performances of #41, Bartender, and Cornbread are the best I've heard. This is a CD I can listen to from start to finish and be happy with it the whole way through, there are no weak parts to this album.

The title says it all, I seen this on HDnet concerts, and immediatly bought the blu-ray disk of the concert, and now I bought this on iTunes, truley an amazing concert 

Might have been great, but since iTunes won't allow you to buy the album anymore....probably won't bother....really? Advertising an album that you don't sell as an album anymore? How good of a plan is that? Way to go, iTunes.

I'm probably going to get torched by none Dave fans, but in my opinion, this is the best album ever made. Everything about it is absolutely amazing. It's the best deal ever on itunes and since downloading it, I have probably listened to the entire album around 20 times, it's that good. Don't think, just buy it.

I love every single track on this amazing piece of work. I can't stop listening to it, in fact it's all I listen to. I love Bartender, Two Step and everything in between. These arrangements of DMB songs are too good. His new stuff is incredible, and so is his old stuff. Amazing!!

I just bought it, November 17th. I read some complaints saying iTunes had upped the price, and broken up the album into two parts. NOT true, I downloaded to my iPod, all 28 songs for $12.99. Amaaaaaaaazing album by the incomparible Dave Matthews, with Tim Reynolds.

Nevermind the title, I just hoped it would attract attention. I never really liked Dave Matthews, but this is pretty good. It's basically a greatest hits album with a good guitarist.

This performance is out of this world! Would recommend this to any critic out there. Only one problem....Everyone who decided to comment about this being such a great deal. Now I-tunes has broken it up as a "partial" album so you have to buy it per track. I'm buying this album somewhere else for way less money. Ever since I heard these two jam together the first time, I was sold. You will be too, great combination of musicians with a sound that just plain puts you in a good mood!! BUY THIS YOU'LL LOVE IT.

Dave Matthews has done it again. Dave, along with his friend Tim Reynolds, have again found a way to give off vibes of energy and emotion using only acoustic guitars. I've always found most band's live acoustic work to be sub-par compared with their studio work, with the exception of perhaps Nirvana and Eric Clapton, but the subtle nuances of both Dave and Tim's playing really add to the songs and bring them to life in a whole new way. The emotion can be felt more, probably because of their playing, and the songs take on a new meaning. However, if you're expecting a subdued album because it's acoustic, think again ... the energy is unbelievable. And you can't forget Tim Reynolds. What a magnificent guitarist. His solos are well constructed and his voicings are well thought out. Although it might seem at times that his solo work is technically sloppy, it's not if you consult his past work and realize he's actually using his picking style to excentuate the emotional scope of the song. It works brilliantly. So, if you're thinking of checking out this album, I would highly recommend you do ... especially for its low price. You won't be sorry.

My favorite live recording of all time, by any artist(s). "Bartender" is epic, as well as almost every other song. I have other preferred versions of Gravedigger, but all things said, this is THE live album to own if you're just gettig started or for some reason you missed it.

This is fan-F&*%$ng-tastic!! Downloaded and started to play it. Had to turn it up a bit ‘cause it was so good. Then I had to turn it up more, then a bit more again. By the time I was half way through the show, I was bordering a noise complaint. This is an amazing show!

A greast sounding live album, as usual. They are the best and the talent is mind blowing !!!! If that story about the vet is true, something needs to be done. Great album worth every cent. These guys rock.

Not only is the price amazing but the quality of sound, the power of the audience, the guitars the voice of Dave... to not buy this CD would be a huge loss on your part. Easily my favorite live performance CD it offers the best of Tim and Dave and has many of there popular songs and is a good chance to listen to a variety of there works. A must have for all that love music.
