Cassidy is back, and looks better than ever! After listening to this entire album over and over, there is a savior out there for hip hop after all. Cassidy lets us explore the struggles he has been going through and allows us to understand him more. This is his story, and he did a well job in order to make it heard.
I've liked Cassidys flow since he was freestylin on the Cypher as B, and his freestyles are legendary. This album is better than his first 2 and growth is important, however I'm waiting on him to take that leap from a B list rapper to an A list. I think he has the skill to get to the level of Jay-Z and others as far as wirting albums but he's not quite there. This is a solid album from top to bottm but like Split Personality some of the songs sound rushed, or like filler music. I'm not hatin on Cass at all cause it's good to see a Philly cat get some recognition for his contributions in the industry and as we all know not too many Philly artists get the recognition they deserve. Cass, Beans, Eve, Roots, and everyone else do it real big.
Yo this is some of Cassidy best work period. Anybody thats not feelin this is not about real cuz this dude right here is not just spittin from the heart but he is spittin bout his life true story so u aint for this u aint for real point blank. I LOVE CASSIDY
another breath of fresh air for the nation of hip hop. he is showing his maturity and i hope we listen to the growth.
Cassidy is on top of his game right now. This album go hard. He talk about his life issues and yes you buy this album. I love it
Having all of Cass's albums, and understanding that after his accident his flow was affected, I enjoyed this album more than the others and was surprised at how well this album was compiled. He's still the punchline king and Swiss really hooked it up beat-wise. The kid Cass is the truth, "he sit in a booth and stay spittin like he missin a tooth" ... oops
To tell you the truth, when i bought this album, i thought i was takin a chance. I like I'm A Hustla, but i was not sure how this cd would turn out. I am real glad i dedided to buy this cd. You have to just sit back and listen. Cassidy brings out some of his recent troubles out in these songs. Innocent, Leanin on the Lord, Damn I Miss The Game, Done 4 Me, Celebrate and All by Myself are all cant miss tracks. I would recommend this album to any and everybody.
Yet another meaningless album. A humiliation to the human species.
This is a real good album. I Get My Paper is my favorite song. Really good album
Weak flow, average lyrics, generic production. If you like bland commercial music you'll probably enjoy this. Sounds like all the other filler on the radio.
This is what is wrong with rap music today. No this is NOT hip-hop. All anyone does now is make anthems and club songs. It is really depressing. And it is not just rap, it's every type of music. Rock, Country, R&B it seems they are all going toward Pop music, which to me, is like going the way of the Dodo. Soon it will all the sound the same, and it is all because people let the record companies and itunes decide what is 'Hot' (take that Feist song 1234 for example, not bad but until that comercial aired I had never heard of her, now it's like one of the most downloaded song on here). Just wanted to vent. Oh and try to support local music in your area. :)
cassidy's best album nobody can't beat that album
The hustla is back in the game i expected a lil more but its still tight
This album is really dope. Cassidy's flow is bonkers. if you this album check out "The Road to Riches" by Mr. Ozwald.
If you really appreciate quality rap music then you would buy this album. I gave B.A.R.S. five stars because it covers everything from gangsta rap, club music, conscience rap, and inspirational music. Not to mention Cassidy’s sharp lyrics, superior delivery, style, and vocal clarity – which even Jay-Z can no longer achieve! Whether on “All by Myself,” “My Drink N’ My 2 Step,” or “Where My N****s At,” Cassidy’s style is consistent; he’s gangsta, and there is no song on the album where he breaks out and turn into an R&B singer, not even on a hook – à la 50 Cent. Even thought “Innocent,” “Leanin’ on the Lord,” and “Take a Trip” aren’t hardcore gangsta songs, Cassidy sounds like a gangsta addressing non-gangsta topics and not like a rapper who tries to sound like an R&B singer. As fan of gangsta rap and hip-hop I love this consistency. Not only that, he freestyles (although the intro is a staged battle), he tells stories, and sheds light on his personal troubles, which makes the album much more engaging. I think Cass’ dropped a gem, y’all!
Im supporting this since he's from Killadelphia (highest homicide rate - no gangs just hardcore and stupid). I hope he has learned to grow through his mistakes
After 2 hard years, Cassidy has returned, Stronger than ever. Shattering the game with hardcore club bangers, and powerful spiritual lyrics. Buy this album, listen to his story, and lose yourself in his music. Great job Cassidy!!
YEEEEEAAAHHHHH! Cassidy hits hard with this album. I love it.
B.A.R.S. is a very good album. Every song is basically great on here, especially My Drink N' My 2 Step. Buy it
gotta get it.. he really did it this time! who knew that he could A&R his own record? But this is straight hot s%#T
When I saw Cassidy's freestyle on youtube, I was excited! To see him rap about Christ so passionatley just blew my mind! I was hoping to hear that same raw & uncut truth on his album B.A.R.S. but instead I was dissappointed by more unoriginal lyrics. It's good that he is acknowledging God, that's a step! But most of his songs are talking about immorality (sex, drugs, women, self glorification, greed, money,etc... You know, the things every other rapper says over and over again!!!). His lyrics don't set him apart from any other mainstream artist out there.
MAN THIS DUDE CASSIDY RUNS THE GAME RIGHT NOW. THE ONLY OTHER DUDES I THINK THAT ARE UP THERE WITH HIM IS MY BOY THE GAME AND KANYE. THAT’S IT. AM A WEST COAST NI**A AND I THINK THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST EAST COAST ALBUMS I HEARD IN A LONG TIME. THIS CD IS MUCH BETTER THEN 50'S SAME A** OLD SH**. CASSIDY FRIST ALBUM WAS OKAY TO ME LYRICLY ONE OF THE BEST CD I HAVE EVER HEARD. LAST ALBUM WAS GOOD GREAT BEATS AND GOOD RYMES. BUT THIS CD BEATS ALL OF THEM, I LIKE HOW HE TALKS ABOUT HIS MURDER CHARGE AND KEEP'S THIS SH** GANGSTA LIKE A MOTHA. IF YOU LIKE GANGSTA'S YOU WILL BUY THIS ALBUM AND THE BANG THE F OUT OF IT. BEST SONGS ARE INNOCENT, CASH RULEZ, DAMN I MISS THE GAME, I GET MY PAPER, TAKE A TRIP (SLOWER SONG FOR YOUR LADY) AND ALL BY MY SELF AND HIS SINGLE IS BANGIN MY DRINK N' MY 2 STEP. A MUST BUY IF YOU LIKE REAL RAP.
On Cassidy's third disc he smartly raps about his Jail time and his relationship with god.B.A.R.S. stand for his initials and how he spent eight months behind bars. This Cd really shows how behind cameras and fame who the real Cassidy is.Aside from songs about his life there are party and club tracks like the smash hit "My Drink N My 2 Step". Download This> "I Pray".
Since you the reader don't know much about me as a hip hop fan, I'm going to give you a little background of my relationship with hip hop. I was first introduced to hip hop around may of 2004. I bought my first hip hop album then, and it was "The Black Album", by Jay Z. As anybody can attest, this is a gift and a curse. I heard the best of what hip hop had to offer, but everything after seemed not as good. As the years have passed, my hip hop tastes have progressed and I really love any technical rappers. I like rappers that have crazy flows and something to say. Brother Ali, Murs, Little Brother, Slug are a few of the underground rappers that I like. I also like a lot of above ground rap, such as Kanye and Lupe. However, I was never really a fan of Cassidy. I listened to Split Personality, and I wasn't impressed with the whole "ringtone" feel of it, and I didn't get it. I'm A Hustla came out, and I was a little more impressed with that. However, the album that really made me a Cassidy fan is his newest album: "B.A.R.S.: The Barry Adrian Reese Story". This album is absolute fire, and it is actually competing with Jay's album for play time. From start to finish, Cassidy picks great beats and his flow is constantly on point. He tells stories, boasts, makes party songs, and spits battle raps. This album is very, very good. The first 4 songs are great, but number 5 is where it really picks up for me. "I Pray" is a classic track, followed by 5 more classic tracks. The whole cd is damn near perfect, and I would highly recommend it to everyone. 4.5 Stars.
I'm not normally a blogin in type cat but this joint has a classic feel that deserves genuine consignment!!! 1...
All round this is a good CD, I am very impressed with his delivery and I am looking forward to future releases.
I very happy that cassidy is back because he doesnt make fake party music like others. Im also glad he came back with a strong album to show that the hip hop game missed him.
this album is by far the best album Cassidy put! i say that because he had a lot to reflect on & now he knows that "you must appreciate what comes to you". ~"Innocent" is my favorite song on this album because he tells you about the trials & tribulations he has faced these pass years.~
when is the next cd comin out
Cash Rulez is 22222222222222222222222222222222222222222222 sick not to mention ma drink n ma 2 step
Nasty!
ALBUM AFTER ALBUM HE GETS BETTER. THERE IS ONLY ONE SONG I DID NOT LIKE AND THAT IS THE SONG WITH BONE AND EVE, THAT TYPE OR STYLE OF RECORD HAS BEEN DONE OVER TO MANY TIMES. IT SOUNDED LIKE BIGGIE AND BONE MIXED WITH METHOD MAN'S "C.R.E.A.M." THE DUDE WHO GAVE CASS 2 STARS FOR THIS ALBUM IS WACK, STOP JUDDING RESPECT THE ART. THEM LINES YOU WROTE WAS HELLA WACK TOO DUDE YOU LAME. EARL 100
Cassidy never really made an album that appealed to me, and that's probally why he got kicked off his record label. But beats 4/5, so this not a 2/5 overall album. By the way I don't consider myself a hater by any means, but I am honest. I'm glad my friend bought this album so I could listen to it and not be misled into buying this album, because I felt sorry for what happened to the guy since his last album.
i can see how someone planted a seed in cassidy because of leanin oin the Lord, done 4 me. I pray that he continue to walk strong with the Lord.
souljaboy is better. chill with that.
Here Is A Artist That Is Bring Back Hip Hop Here Are Some Other Artitst That Are Bringing Hip Hop Back 50 Cent Flo Rida T Pain Kanye West Dj Felli Fel And Ludacris
This is a great album. I say keep on doing what you doing Cassidy.
cassidy is a beast the beatz nice and the lyrics are perfect great work
One of the best album releases of the year. Cassidy has really elevated, less thuggy and more concious. Best Cassidy Release to date- Grade: A
this just shows how bad rap has gotten.... my drink and my 2 step? this is hot garbage.... go and buy the new little brother and tell me this jokes a good rapper..
He's Back this album is dope....after all the legal trouble and the accident he drops an album thats hardcore but very spiritual...."Innocent" is a nasty track...If your a true Cass fan you should already have his mixtape "The Hustla's Home" If uou don't have it go on limewire or go on ebay and get it it's ill
this iz 1 of tha bets albumz out ryte now cassidy did hiz thing on dis one and he did it all by himself i give him big propz keep goin cassidy
My guy is a beast and it's about time he reclaims his spot
Cassidy has gotten better through the years, but he thinks he's really all that? Hip hop isn't back because of him... Hip hop really never died it just changed for the worst and became commercialized and then began fading out. Is this the re-up of commercialized hip hop? I'm disappointed... if you want to hear rap at its prime dont pick up this cd...
this guy is just lost he needs help! I really dislike how "rappers" these days use the Lord in their titles and all their rapping about his guns drugs alcohol and women. they dont know who God is, they don't wanna know. they're all stuck on the wide path.
CASSIDY IS ONE OF THE BEST RAPPERS TO MAKE A GREAT COME BACK.
Cassidy is one of the greatest rappers in the game. This cd is hott! I am glad to see Cassidy back on the grind doing his thang!
YO THIS IS BY FAR CASSIDY BEST ALBUM, AND THE BEST ALBUM COMIN OUT OF PHILLY OUT FROM OUR UP AND COMING RAPPERS. IT'S VERY LYRICAL AND VERSATILE. HE REALLY HOLDIN PHILLY DOWN WIT THIS.
i'm giving this 5 stars because cassidy just brought hip hop back. Not only that but this album is incredible. Each have a meaning and it doesn't hurt that he went to jail, cause every song has more meaning. Of course, there are the usual thug songs but most of them have a meaning. Love his intro "freestyle" bit. Love how he talks about how hip hop is dead. This album is incredible. Cash Rulez! Bone thugs and eve collabo =sick
Cassidy is one of the best battle rappers out there. This album really shows his lyrical capabilities and the beats are tight too. Highly recomended.
