The debut album from idol winner Jordin Sparks is not only the best album from any idol so far but easily one of the best albums of the year. Definetely worth the download.

After a few listens to the album by winner Jordin Sparks, my first thoughts are: "It's a great way to get her feet wet". The album has been well crafted for the stage of her life, and the point in her career, but I hear bigger things for this artist. It's a nice blend of bubble gum pop, bouncy production, well placed vocal samples, and runs that will drive the little divas crazy. The album starts out with her first single ‘Tattoo’ [written by the team being ‘Beautiful Liar’ from Shakira and Beyonce]. Hooks all the way with this one. The cd moves to ‘One Step A Time’ – a definite future single release – well done by little Miss Sparks. It’s got the hooks, catchy lyrics, and typical story line that most people in relationships should take note of. ‘No Air’, a duet with Chris Brown left me feeling pretty empty - I was expecting something a bit more. I think they are banking on the name to move this record. Not the stronger of the tracks on this début record - but not bad. ‘Freeze’ showcases another side to Spark’s vocal ability – another contender for future single release – very well done on a production point of view, and vocally up to par. ‘Now You Tell Me’ has a definite ‘Cold Play-esque’ vibe to it. Cold Play inspired piano work on this track – yet another runner up for single release. The rest of the cd is sits as fair – especially after being faced with above potential hits like ‘Tattoo’, ‘One Step..’, ‘Freeze’ and ‘Now You Tell Me’. This was until I got to tracks 10 and 11 – ‘Young and In Love’ and ‘See My Side’. I thought I was listening to what the new Britney Spears record should have been – good move on the team behind Sparks. Of course, closing the cd is the winning song, ‘This Is My Now’ – a typical winning ballad, but it ends there. Overall, smart move. If they don’t get Sparks on one radio format, this album has the potential to please everyone including the Dance, RnB , Hip Hop and Adult Contemp. audience.

i love da sound of her vice and think she deserves her blessings she is very talented :}

i think her album was just alright, but pretty good for american idol. my two favourite songs were "tattoo" and "this is my now."

According to the liner notes that come with the purchase of Jordan's album, there are three songs missing from this iTunes release ; "Virginia Is For Lovers" (Produced by Stargate who did her first single Tattoo!), "Save Me", and "Worth The Wait". What gives guys? That complaint aside, what IS available to purchase is pretty satisfying. Check out the three Bloodshy & Avant (Long time Britney Spears producers) produced tracks first ( "Shy Boy", "Young And In Love" , and "See My Side") first and then go from there.

The album may not be as good as the other artists who worked in the industry for years but good enough for a young girl like her. I believe it'll be a big jump when she releases her next album. She has a potential to be an icon with her talent.

Haven't listened to the entire album yet, but Tattoo is a good song ^^<3

i really like afew songs. most of them are slow songs which isn't what i'm looking for but the way those slow songs are: they are pretty good. my favourite songs are tattoo, one step at a time and shy boy. i really like this album and i think i want it for christmas...haven't made my mind yet. :P

This album is amazing! i can't believe that she is so young, but she has an amazing voice! My favorite songs are Tattoo and One Step At A Time!
