Well, I got this for $7 when they had the Valentine's Day special on their myspace site and I'm relatively pleased by this album. I must say though, it took a few listens to really grow on me. My favorites thus far are Count Me In and Wake Up, being totally different in composition than the first CD. While this CD is fresh and well worth the purchase, I have to say the album is a bit odd. The musical content of Sounds of Melodies is very mature, while Opposite Way has more of a "pop" feel to it. While thier music CLEARLY isnt pop, thats just the impression you get when comparing Leeland's two CDs. That doesnt take away the fact that this album is still skillfully crafted, although I would have liked to hear more diversity in the sounds, with a lot of reoccuring theme's from the old CD, primarily the piano's, coming back to life. Overall, its a great album and lifts up The Most High, which should always be the goal of a Christian album. I'm impressed, but I know that this group yet has room to grow.

I am giving this album four stars for the lyrics. These guys are in love with the Lord, and if you are looking for some encouraging music throughout your day listen to it. They did lose a star because their lack of innovation musically. There were a couple really good songs musically, but all the other were the same as sound of melodies. Leeland is a christian band that sticks out from the mediocre Relient K, The Afters (Who lost their own sound and replaced it with Relient K's), Switchfoot, and most Tooth and Nail bands, because Leeland sings the gospel.

Well... I wouldn't say this is a bad album, it is just not nearly that great especially considering the awesomeness of their last one. It feels like it was a bit rushed rushed to get out there... and lyrically not quite all there. Musically a lot of the chorus' sound very similar and again, just feels like it was rushed. I think this band is good but may have just been at the right place at the right time with their last album.

Not only does Leeland have a good sound, but their lyrics have such good meaning!.......This is def. my favorite album out of their two, and it will me in my cd player for months to come....."Let it Out Now," and "Oppisite Way" are def. my two favorite on the CD......but buy them All!!!!......

This is a wonderful CD. The words in the songs are outstanding. You can just relate to them. There so up lifting! I love leeland there a great band..and i definitly recommend any one to buy there album!

I have been looking forward to their new album ever since they told us bout it at their concert in January. I absolutely love leeland and if you want to hear a good christian band then this is the band for you!!!

It looks like I'm in the minority. I don't love this album. I LOVED Sound of Melodies, and I still think that the band is incredibly talented and focused, but the lyrics and music seemed a little generic to me. Maybe it will grow on me.

funny, passionate, christian guys... who lead praise and worship music that isn't totally lame!!! some praise and worship music is like... all your revised versions of the revised versions of the revised versions... but leeland writes his own tunes!!! i really like that.

Leeland... once again a fabulous showing! I love the writing, the lyrics, the melodies and the powerful theology that is embedded in each song. This album equals their first in all of these categories.

Leeland has, once again, captured my attention with their phenomenal songs. I don't know how they come up with these great lyrical compositions, but I'm glad that they do! A couple of my favorites are: Opposite Way, Brighter Days, and Don't Go Away.

This album is very enjoyable. Almost every album out there has a few songs that don't impress to greatly. However, give this cd time. It grows on you. Songs recommended: Enter this Temple, Thief in the Night, May Our Praise.. those are the "bigger" songs. plus the lead singer is excellent.

I was astounded the first time I listened to this record. Their sound is so refreshing and new. Their lyrics are beyond awesome. This CD challenges Christians to step out of their comfort zones and be like Jesus. My dad has really liked this record as well. It is so worth buying! Keep going, Leeland! You can Count Me In!

All I can say is thank God for a band that can write and play music like Leeland does. Yet another album proving their gift of melody. If you are looking for songs to express your love for Christ, this is a fabulous album. Dayton Mooring writes real and to the point songs.

Omgsh this is one of the best Christian album ever. It was everything you could ask for. Its fun but yet praises the Lord. You will have a ton of fun listening to this, I know i did. It'ss amazing! Buy it you won't be sorry

My son took me to a Leeland concert at Harvest and I was so impressed by their talent but most of all their love for the Lord. I have no doubt that their goal in music is to give glory to Jesus Christ. This CD is awesome, I bought it the day it came out and have loved listening to it. Keep up the work guys!!

I love this band. You can feel their heart in every song. There desire to lead people in worship and connect them with God is amazing! I think this is a great album, but I do feel the first one is better. It is hard to beat "Sound of Melodies" and "Yes you have" and "Tears of the Saints". I love it none the less! Go Leeland!

I hate to jump off the band wagon, but it's no sound of melodies. The songs just aren't as catchy as their previous album. I feel like the lyrics aren't as good this time around. Just sounds like their throwing a lot of bible verses at you (which is fine, but not anywhere original.) so, while I do like Leeland, this album is just average. sounds like everyone else, except without a good single.

Really? Am I the only one who's frustrated by the lack of musical progress that pop-Christian music is offering these days? I LOVED Sound of Melodies. I LIKE this album. To me, this is a continuation of the first. Great lyircs, yes, but nothing new. Nothing dynamic. No risks. I hear the same themes borrowed from the first album, or other bands like U2 or Coldplay who stay original (or try to). Gotta love Leeland, but I expected more. Wanna hear something fresh and worshipful, look up Zach Payne.

loved Leeland's Sound of Melodies and this one doesn't disappoint either. Count Me In is a stellar opener and Brighter Days might be the best thing since Stolen My Heart. Altogether great album.

Really fantastic album... have enjoyed every song... think it is better than their first. The songs 'Brighter Days' and 'Don't Go Away' are my personal favorites... but everything is fantastic! You won't be disappointed!

Leeland is my hero. This wonderful album discusses how God went the opposite way for us and how we should do the same. I love Count Me In, Enter This Temple, Opposite Way, Wake Up, and Brighter Days. This album is an A+.

I have met each of the members of leeland and they are an insperation to me and many other christians around the world. I saw them sing Let it out now live before the opposite way came out. It was there first time to sing it for the public. I pray for leeland and all its members. I hope they continue to praise God for many years to come.

i bought this album the day it came out. i was expecting great songwriting and music which you get, but this album didnt get me singing like Sound Of Melodies did. Still it is overall a solid album. if you can only get one of their two albums though, get Sound Of Melodies.

Good songs, though not as timeless as the ones on SOM. The thing that hits me immediately is the over use of compression on this record. Drums seem buried. SOM had so much space in the mix. This record sounds all squished together. That's one side of the coin though, here's the other: ... great lyrics, great musicianship and the voice of an angel make this record a must buy. A reminder to all of us who call Jesus our Lord to live as a people who are set apart. Not away from the world around us, that we live in, but in the midst of it. Carry your lamp! The song "Brighter Days" is no doubt my song right now. I cried from the heart when I heard this because this is exactly how I feel about my life at present. I know if I just hang in there that truly Brighter Days will be coming.... I love Leeland. They are so incredibly talented and keep me encouraged.

Leeland is original, you will love their sound and energy, their last album was amazing and so is this one, they will have you listening for hours!

Leeland is a fantastic band that has made an amazing follow up album. With catchy melodies that will stay in your head all day, the deep but simple lyrics and the luring voice of Leeland Mooring, this album will not be a dissapointment =)

I liked a few songs off Sound Of Melodies but I wasn't too impressed by Leeland. Then I got a copy of this album and I was blown away. I loved every song except Count Me In, which just seemed out of place on the album. My favorites are Enter This Temple, Opposite Way, and Brighter Days.

I really enjoyed their first cd, but it never got me completely hooked. Opposite Way definitely got me hooked. My favorites are Opposite Way, Brighter Days, May Our Praise, and Let it Out Now. A few tracks (Beginning and the End and Thief in the Night) are forgettable, but still enjoyable nonetheless. You won't be disappointed with this album if you like powerful, rock/worship.

Leeland is so anointed and it shows through their songs. Their songs are real and they actually talk about GOD. [Imagine that!] A must buy for any Christian.. It has encouraged me to really try to go the Opposite Way.

It's always great to start off with an amazing album then to follow up with another amazing one. With deep lyrical content and a nice groove. This is a must have.

Now if your a music lover by now you know that every album gets pretty dull after about the 3rd, 4th, or sometimes even the 5th song. Well guess what there's finally an Album that dosn't I know it's amazing and it's already far execedid my expectations by far. Definitely buy the whole thing.

Opposite Way is so good I love every song!! My Favorites are Count Me In, Brighter Days, Opposite Way, Don't Go Away, & Beginning and the End. Leeland really has done it this time! I think that they made an even better sophomore album. This album is easily the best christian album in the past couple years(excluding best hits albums). I HIGHLY RECOMEND IT!! Trust me, every song is full of original worhipful lyrics, and the songs are practicaly impossible to get bored of!

This album is INCREDIBLE! i love it just as much, if not more than "sound of melodies"!!!! These guys are extremely talented and a joy to listen to!

As a worship pastor, I like this material. It sounds different yet is accessible. We'll cover several of these tunes in our worship services at NorthWood. Very british overtones, yet these guys are completely Texans. Strong lyrics and good guitar tones. Good stuff.

Once again, Leeland returns with their fifth album! WHOA! Take that back... Leeland may be a young band, but from hearing Opposite Way (their second album, by the way), you would think that Leeland has been around, writing and recording for years. Then you find out that frontman Leeland Mooring is only nineteen. While Sound of Melodies was a strong release more focused on worship songs, Opposite Way shows a more definite rock sound. "Count Me In" is a strong start to the album in which Leeland dares to add a little "hoo hoo sha la la la la la la" and does a great job with it. My second favorite track, "Let It Out Now," is a message about being different, which really touched me on a strange day when I felt a little out of place in the world. Other highlights would be "Wake Up," "Brighter Days," and "Falling For You"; and "Beginning and the End" will probably remind you of "Too Much" from Sound of Melodies. Although Opposite Way is a great second album, I only wish there were more upbeat tracks. The first half of the album gets you pumped up while the second half seems to drag. Not to say that the album is boring, but it wasn't a good idea to have all the slow songs bunched together at the end. All in all, Opposite Way is highly recommended--even just as much as one can recommend Sanctus Real's "We Need Each Other" to you. ;)

Listen to this album and you will find yourself worshipping our God and King. Leeland is a sincere and passionate band of devoted worshippers. It is evident in their music who they serve... Rise up Church and exalt God with Leeland!!!! Psalm 5:11

"Sound fo Melodies" was excelent, but Leeland has far exceeded with "Opposite Way." The songs promote dedication to ("Count Me In" and "Falling for You) and worship of God ("Beginning and the End" and "May Our Praise"), as well as calling the Christian to "Wake Up" and go the "Opposite Way." Fantastic work, brothers! The Lord is honored in it!

I also saw these guys at State Youth Conference and let me tell you, they were doing good until they played "Count Me In". The song just stinks. I was expecting to hear alot of progression on this album, but there is none. Check out their first album, it is way better.

I read about Leeland in a Christian girl's magazine. I thought that he sounded like a very nice guy, and his music is good. His faith is strong, too. =)
