The 30 second previews don't give this album much justice, because for the most part all the songs start out slow and buildup to a great finish. Some instant highlights are Hummer, Cassius, French Open, Balloons, Two Steps Twice, and Mathletics. While you can't predict what a new band will do based entirely on their first album, I have a good feeling about these guys. Check it out.

Almost like a melody roller coster that builds you up for a vibrant dance setting, while giving you breaks to rest. The bonus tracks alone are almost worth the whole thing.

A homogenous listening experience.

i first saw this cd at best buy on a display in the front for indie-rock albums. i knew every band on the display, because indie is my favorite genre of music, except for Foals. i had never even heard of them. but after that i started seeing their cd everywhere, and then we started playing it at my work, urban outfitters. this band rocks. they're dancy, yet mellow at the same time, and the guy has a cool electric voice. i recommend this band to any indie-rocker or anyone who just wants to try something new. they're not very well known right now but i have a feeling their going to get really big in the next few months.

I should say that I don't want that title to detract from your opinion of the music at all. I'm just sure they are about this band. While this album does in fact carry its frequent moments of catchy phrasing within songs, it also carries a certain pretension that slathers over any appreciation of the work with a bitter taste. I can't count how many harmonics are played throughout the course of this album alone. The songs are well written however are well written in the sense that they are wrtiten well into the unbreakable mold of the nouveau British post-punk/art house band. It becomes trite after the 70th one passes and the song structures begin to pile up in a stereoscopic fashion, both pleasing the listener with its catchy rhythms and meoldies and alerting them to how many bands have done it before. Granted Foals's songwriting is a bit more thought out an intelligent than other bands of their genre, but come on, how many times have I heard that stuttering beat guys? Its fun for a while, and tiresome for some time afterwards.

i love this album. i think it is one of the best indie albums of our time. but i want astronauts and all! they have it in the united kingdom itunes but not the USA's. Bring it here!!!

I first heard about foals through rolling stone's artist to watch section. i usually trust them so i checked em out and was i pleasently surprised! foals is one of my favorite new acts these days. to me my favorite track is cassius. i cant not dance when i hear that song. electric boom is another favorite as is balloons. overall this cd is great new music if you are looking for new stuff. while not everytrack is golden the price and the bonus tracks earn it 5 stars.

A friend living Brussels took me to see them in Amsterdam and it only took 20 seconds into their first song for them to hook me and reel me in. The album doesn't capture the sheer size of their sound and the pulsating feeling you get in your gut from the driving, rhythmic thumping hooks. Take a moment to really HEAR the music and you will feel it differently. Imagine yourself standing in front of them, they are aiming slightly over your head, then turn the volume waaaaayyyyy up ! They will hit you right at the point of understanding and you will agreee, they really are pretty damn good!

I've been into foals since I heard "Hummer" and i'm just happy iTunes has wisened up and put them on here cause they're bloody brilliant and this is a whole lot of music for just 6 bucks!

I have a real hard time finding quality original music these days. This qualifies, best album I have bought for some time. For 5.99 you can't go wrong. . .

one thing I hate about lokking at reviews on itunes is that you cant get a strait opinion on how good a song is becuase obvously if people like that genre of music they are going to like the album. I thought that it was a good album but had fast paced lyrics and screechy vocals.

I can sing better than this guy. this band is not good. I gave this album to my mom for her birthday and she said "i dont like this album. it is not good. it is the oppisite of great. this band is not what i call good."

The Antidote is one of those truly eye-opening records when a new band announces its presence into the music world with a frightening authority, much like The Arcade Fire did with Funeral. While this type of British indie-pop has already dominated the UK (#3 album first week of release), it has yet to translate to mainstream U.S. radio. That's all good and fine for the people most likely to love the Foals, typically fans of The Arcade Fire, the Doves and the Smiths. At 5.99, buy this album right now and enjoy.

I wasn't anticipating too much from this band, but after listening to the album I can't stop, the only words I can use to describe it is WOW, impressive to say the least.

I found this CD a few weeks ago, and I bought it the day I found it. The whole CD is amazing. It's the type of music I enjoy hearing when I'm thinking or trying to relax, or when I'm just chilling with my friends. It's simple, fast and overall very good.

I love this album. It is unlike most anything I have ever heard! I especially love olympi airways! It is now officially my favorite song.

This album is awsome! Everyone should go buy it! I like how unique this band and love their bouncing melodies! I wish the band continued sucess and hope their music makes it on the radio. My favorite track are "Balloons", "Heavy Water", and "Tron".

No Gang of Four here those other people are on crack, if anything it's more like Minus the Bear, or Battles, or Bloc Party. Duh

Hey, I'm all for sounding like your musical influences, but these guys aren't even trying. Don't we have enough of these types of bands already. Although this album does what it's supposed to and isn't all that bad, you're better off busting out to Gang Of Four's "Entertainment!" if you want this type of action. But hey, that's just my opinion and the kids seem to like these chuffers.

I heard the foals on the radio but i could not remember the name of the band or what the title of the song was...then finally i found them on myspace an i fell in love with cassius. im soooo happy itunes put their cd up. its a great price too!

Album of the year - So far, imo Brilliant is execution, concept, playing, engineering, and production.

I hear the single Balloons on SIRIUS and I liked it. Then I got the album....and I was blown away! Fantastic! Energetic, fun, and unique! When I listened to the samples on iTunes I was worried they might be a bit too much like bloc party, but that is NOT the case! They have their own great sound. Get it now and impress all your friends with your cutting edge knowledge of cool new music!

Amazing that i didn't have to search alot and i found a good band like this. The Olymic airways song is a great amazement of what you can do with the harmonics on a guitar. Enjoy their album it is one of the best things i have heard in a long time!!!!!

There's nothing wrong with this album, I just feel like I've heard it all before, by artists who do it better. I would certainly choose to listen to this over most of the Top 40 right now, but I think it's more of background music.

Foals are freaking great on CD, but even better in concert. If you get a chance to see them, don't miss it.... So yeah, definitely buy the album then too!

This debut from Foals continues my love for all things Post Punk in Rock and Roll! Listen to Cassius, Electric Bloom, or Hummer and take yourself back to the energy and imagination of 25 years ago. Like the first time I heard The Cure, the rapturous relationship I have had to Echo and the Bunnymen, Comsat Angels, Joy Division, Gang of Four, Foals speaks my aural language! The past 8 years has renewed my faith in Rock and Roll - bands like Foals, Editors, Interpol, The Rapture and Klaxxons live on that same latitude as I do and definitely invigorate my idols of an earlier time like Echo, Simple Minds, The Cure and Go4 to stay strong.

Foals is an amazing taste of eclectic sounds. I've been obesessed since last year and I know if you give them a chance and listen with an open mind you'll love them, too.

These guys are great and gaining more and more popular in both the U.S. and Europe. The Album has great catchy beats with unique guitar. However, I sometimes find that the lyrics and beats are a little bit too repetitive... This album is a solid buy if your into the indy music scene, especially since it's only 5.99.

A price of $5.99 is hard to beat, and Antidotes it totally worth it. At first I was a little hesitant about buying the entire CD, but I'm glad I did. Whenever I hear Cassius or The French Open, it takes a good deal of restraint to keep myself from dancing. They're two of my favorite songs...I find them to be a bit addicting. :) Olympics Airways is more mellow but just as good; I also like Balloons, Hummer and Red Socks Pugie. Again, totally worth the money. If you're even slightly considering it, go ahead and buy. You won't be disappointed.

I didn't really get hooked on anything here. It was a bit "heard this before", but a little to much mix and match.

After hearing Hummer (Bonus Track) on Skins a few months ago, I could not wait to check out Antidotes. I will admit that I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this album, but it is definitely worth the $5.99. My favorite tracks are Cassius, Balloons, Hummer (Bonus Track), Mathletics (Bonus Track) and Red Socks Pugie. Click the purchase button and you will not be disappointed.

I heard "Balloons" on a podcast and really liked their sound. I am a fan of The Cure and this band is pretty darn close to being their twin. At first I wasn't sure if I'd get this because listening to all the 30 second samples didn't at all give me any indication of what the songs had to offer. I'm so glad I purchased the entire album because it is fantastic and best of all it didn't break my piggy bank at just $5.99, well worth every penny. Thanks iTunes!

I didn't really know much about this band at all before checking them out on iTunes. I had hesitations about buying the album based on the samples....BUT...when I saw that the album was $6...how could I go wrong? Well this album is fantastic. I've listened to it on my headphones all by my lonesome, I listened to it sharing some drinks with friends, and I blasted it when I was at the gym. It's a fantastic album that is highly listenable and appealing.

if you like indie rock, itunes is the place to get this. $5.99? that's pretty awesome for this album. i'd even buy it for $9.99.

this wasn't what i was expecting based on the earlier singles. french open, cassius and i guess balloons, plus hummer and mathletics (thank god they included them here) that's all you need...

Foals, yes. Love them. Absolutely fantastic tunes. And glad that Mathletics is on here as a bonus track, favourite song by them. Have a listen.

Minus the Bear with British accents

The title says it all...this album is awesome. Songs melt into one another seamlessly but each has its own distinct separateness at the same time. Great music for homework, thinking, driving, dancing around, being stupid with friends, painting your toenails, doing all of these things at the same time or nothing at all. Not to say this is background music.
