I decided to keep this quick. YES outkast's sound is evolving. YES they sound different than they did when they first started, but there is nothing wrong with that. I love their older music (Aquemini is one of my most treasured rap albums) but I am not turned off by their new album. Speakerboxxx has a much more traditional outkast feel to it, clean production, hard lyrics, and a overall gangster vibe. It is a fine album, but in my opinion, is shadowed by the tower that The Love Below is. While Speakerboxx is more a creation of Big Boi, The Love Below is Andres 3000 creative outlet. Some songs arent that spectacular on the album, but some are sublime, and with 21 songs, the few lackluster songs don't have much of a presence overall. Songs like Pink and Blue and Take Off Your Cool have seemingly gone unnoticed by John Q Musiclistener, which is a travesty. Andre exhibits some extremely talented and creative production on his half of the album. in short, this album is different, but its not a bad thing. I have been a Outkast fan for over 10 years, and I approve of this album.

This is the highest selling rap album of all time and won the Grammy for album of the year. I was suprised, but I must say the beat part is speakerboxxx (big boi's half).

Roses is the best song on here buy it

First of all, its 40 songs for 17 bucks. Second of all, many of these songs aren't done justice; Happy Valentine's Day, Spread, Ghetto Musick, The Rooster, etc. sound great but weren't hits. One of the greatest hip-hop duos in the game with another great album.

I gave it to my sister because I didn't like this album at all. I hated "Hey Ya" so much. I used to like OutKast with their hits like "Ms Jackson" and "The Whole World." I'm sorry but those songs are better than any of the songs on here. The only songs I like on here are "Roses" and "The Way You Move."

Honestly, save your money and buy the singles that you like, most of this album is trash, 40 songs and only 5 listenable tracks.

OutKast is like the rap stars for old people. my dad (who is old) loves the song "The Way You Move" I actually agree with him. With that song, as well as "Roses" and "Hey Ya!", OutKast made an extremely successful album. Plus everybody loves to scream out, "HEYYY YAAA!!!" Click Yes if you agree with everything I have said.

Outkast is an example of an all time great hip-hop/rap artist. Many people complain about rap getting "old" too quickly and rhymes that are not longer fresh. These songs do not get old that easily. With good beats and cool songs, this album is very decent for hip hop lovers. And BTW, you can never go wrong with "Hey Ya!" That song is too funky-fresh! Outkast deserves a lot more attention than other artists I will not metion... whoa, so many people used "funky fresh." It must be true then.

i went to the outkast page and i saw that hey ya was there #1 song!!! i have all the respect in the world for andre 3000, but that song is not outkast. there #1 song should be ms. jackson

This is not only one album but two for the price of one. What more could anyone ask for. The southern beats and funky fresh lyrics to every single song is incredible. Outkast has definetely made another classic album, well-deserving of tons of praise.

This album isn't my favorite of Outkast's. Some of the songs are very, very good, but most of them are more filler than well written songs. And even those that are good are flawed. They lack the chemistry that the previous albums have. This is (literally) Big Boi and Andre 3000 putting out two solo discs. They both have their fare share of filler, but for the most part they're very good, and will go on to become radio staples. But, in the end, they don't have the songwriting genius of both of them poured into one album. It instead feels like they are relentlessly trying to top each other. Plus, I just can't listen to such a long album all the way through. Can you argue? I enjoyed this album, but I had to go through a lot to listen to it. A typical vinyl record lasts about 40-50 minutes. With CD's you can get up to 80 minutes, the same length as a typical double album. That's a lot of time to dedicate to listening to music. This album is 2 hours, and 15 minutes! That's way too long!
